Obama was right -- Qadaffi was a terror to Libya

Yeah he is a bastard. what kind of a sick fuck does this.

Great Manmade River

The Great Man-Made River (GMR, النهر الصناعي العظيم) is a network of pipes that supplies water to the Sahara Desert in Libya, from the Nubian Sandstone Aquifer System fossil aquifer. It is the world's largest irrigation project.[1]
According to its website, it is the largest underground network of pipes (2820 km) [2] and aqueducts in the world. It consists of more than 1,300 wells, most more than 500 m deep, and supplies 6,500,000 m3 of fresh water per day to the cities of Tripoli, Benghazi, Sirt and elsewhere. Muammar al-Gaddafi has described it as the "Eighth Wonder of the World."[3]

Unlike most Americans I dont have a god complex.

If you choose him again then hes your president, and pray to god no other nation forces you to change him out the way you all are doing in Libya.

Wrong! If I and all President Obama supporters choose him as President again, and You are living in the United States, then he is YOUR President as well, and there ain't shit you can do about it. No matter how much you deny it. Look at my sig. :D:yes::D

Kinda like how America did with French soldiers during the revolutionary war.

If The british were so opressive over the colonists, then why did they have to go bring in French soldiers?:hmm:

:lol:are you serious...the people fought to free themselves from the British rule. The people in Libya sat at home while the rebel took over the country from Qadaffi's rule.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Dude. Do you really believe that a dictator who quashes all dissent and free speech, appropriates most of the wealth for his immediate family and friends, finances terror throughout the world, and has a contingent of virginal female personal bodyguards etc etc.... isn't nuts?

You can be against the intervention without being for this lunatic.

Obama does not have female bodyguards.....

:D

Without even watching the vids I can say it's probably propaganda.. look we can be critical of NATO involvement in Libya without making a saint out this Gaddafi dude. He's a bonafide maniac.

How is this so impossible? The conversation is framed by some as "Evil NATO, Sainted Khaddafy" and it's just not that simple. Qaddafi was in good with the West and has been for quite a while so to act like they just turned on him for the shit of it isn't true. At the same time, of course there are background players ready to pounce on those oil reserves.

30% of Americans loved GW Bush until his last day so you could get a really large rally in support of him, that doesn't mean he was a popular President.

We don't know what the people over there did because everything that we know about the situation is fed through the lens of the US media, who will show and tell you what they want you to know.

What we do know is that Qadaffi is on the run and the rebels are still winning or maybe that's just the US media feeding us bs.:cmonson:

So the People choosing Qadaffi over King Idris means nothing to the people in the east, but you picking my president means something?

You see how insane this is?:lol:

How can british people free themselves from the british?

I mean that shit is cool but the guy is a headcase. I'm glad he had an occasionally positive outlook on Africa, and did some good for those in his charge from time to time... but this kind of revisionism where we make Gaddafi out to be a saint damages the credibility of the anti-war movement. And I can't accept that because it's more important then ever.

Not impossible but not representative of the whole truth. When I said "propaganda" I simply meant that any video hyping Gaddafi up as some sort of Pan African savior is likely not showing a complete picture. So we're agreed on that. On the other side of the coin... NATO involvement in Libya on the basis of his "evilness" and "the will of the people" is also bullshit and misrepresentative of reality ie OIL.

I'm not for or against him. I'm not informed enough about him to have an opinion.

That's an amazing feat of engineering.

Libya is the industrial hub of Africa. That's why 'ObamaNatoFranceItalyBanksters' wanna get their paws on it.

Looks like they were bigger terrorists than the rebels

Yet those folks lived in a territory of GB. The revolution did happen in the mainland of GB. So you are comparing two different situations.

bottom line the US went in to steal the oil. whether you like Qaddafi or not isn't relevant. we can argue about him all day but this was another instance of the US + Europeans invading an oil rich nation to install a weak government that will follow orders. Qaddafi was a nationalist and had recently started nationalizing all Libyan oil fields so anybody who knows how shit works knows what comes next. the Western nations arm some separatist group (every nation has them) and then when its time, the "liberation" begins.

On Wednesday Libya's President Muammar Gaddafi made a bad week for ConocoPhillips even worse. Talking with Georgetown University students via satellite, he said, according to Reuters, that oil prices ($43/barrel Wednesday) were "unbearable" and that Libyan oil "maybe should be owned by national companies or the public sector at this point, in order to control the oil prices, the oil production or maybe to stop it."

Read his green book and see what that Arab thought about black Africans.

You dont say... and how do non-white people function within the global, national and local system of racism-white supremacy... How this system treats both non-white and white people is not even close to what the so called green book had in store for black folk... Racism-white supremacy is the most oppressive system on the UNIVERSE...

If some one of you think Libya is so great - go live there....

Arm chair scholars who can talk big on youtube on in the comforts of North America but won't go do any field research and go to the country yourself. SPARE ME

As an American my government wont even allow me to go 89 miles to Cuba...What makes you think they would allow any of us to go to Libya?

That's the thing. They hype up these guys but won't go and file for citizenship. If the US is all salt & vinegar. Then why not go to the land of milk & honey.

The system of racism-white supremacy is local, national and global... so what are you saying... go live where... :smh::angry:

You can go any place you want. You just may not be able to fly directly to that place do to (embargoes) but you can still get there.

No, you cant.

Soon as you get back from your indirect trip you will receive a letter from the government asking you to explain your trip, and you will then be fined.

Fuck Libya and its people.....wake me up when you kats want to talk about the problems my people have in NYC Philly LA etc......

OKay and you still can get there whether you get a fine when you get back or not. Yet the purpose would be to leave the US and live in that land of milk & honey. So why would you give a fuck about a fine. :hmm:

Besides the few confused posters here and idiots, I don't know a single black person personally that is not going to vote for Obama again. As a matter of fact, all of my non black friends and contacts still plan on voting for him.

That said, I can't help but think there are more white posters posing to be black here than we realize. Sure, we can all have different views but some of the stuff that gets posted is insane. I only see stuff like that from either idiots, people who don't understand how our government works, a few of the uneducated Africans on this board, and of course racist white people.

Now, I don't think Qadaffi was a terrorist but he was a horrible leader and murderer. The US went in apart of the UN coalation. It was not a US mission and it was not about oil. Anyone who says different will be a flat out idiot or someone who thinks that you-tube is a credible news source. Still amazes me how fools say its about resources, when years later there is no new source of those resources.

So with that said, I am still voting for Obama. He is doing a tough job. A job I believe to be really hard and stressful. Anyone that was expecting him to come to your house and give you a job with a paycheck for $300k is an idiot and need to learn how government works. As for you few Africans that don't like him... I simply no longer care. Ha. A few threads ago, I went back and forth with a few and they basically told me they were ok with the deaths and slaughters of protesters. No point in arguing beyond that eh?:smh:

Regarding the whites posing to be black, just stop. Your making a fool of yourself and wasting your time. Your act is not changing votes.

Who gets the oil? Libyan's or western oil companies?

No one. If anything, there might be better deals worked to lower prices but thats about it. I'm sure the conspiracy theory idiots will come along and say the US will get it and our gas prices will drop down to .25 cents a gallon.

Because even if you dont come back they will track you down.

You are making excuses. They aint gonna hardly be looking for you. Many have gone to such places and the only reason anyone gave a fuck about their whereabouts. Is because they were either terrorist or family members alerted the government.

They freed themselves from British rule by secession.:cmonson:
just. stop. arguing.

You don't know U.S. history... just the propaganda they teach in grade schools. the U.S. has always been gangster, the average colonist didn't give a fuck about independence - the revolution started because business owners didn't want to pay taxes to the crown, and had no influence in parliament... they recruited/ bought most of the generals left over from the french indian war, still didn't have enough guns - hired german mercenaries- still not enough guns, so they signed a treaty with France, promised preferential commerce, now they had enough guns, soldiers and a navy to force a draw with british forces. Britain ended the war when it received a promise of commerce with the colonies, and it realized the war will escalate into an open war with France (too expensive)...

All world leaders are gangster, some just do a better job of hiding it... or give it a innocent sounding description like "rendition" name a crime (backed by a reputable source) that Gaddafi, Hussein, etc has done, that a sitting U.S. president since Eisenhower hasn't done (Kennedy, Johnson. Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, both Bush, Clinton, Obama)

In Libya, have y'all noticed that every rebel is carrying brand new rifles? I never saw so many new AKs in my life... guns and ammo are expensive -so is training, this isn't a popular rebellion, I haven't seen one home made weapon - what was the last revolt you saw that every revolutionary had brand new assault rifles?
