Qaddafi was a nationalist and had recently started nationalizing all Libyan oil fields so anybody who knows how shit works knows what comes next. the Western nations arm some separatist group (every nation has them) and then when its time, the "liberation" begins.

Britain ended the war when it received a promise of commerce with the colonies, and it realized the war will escalate into an open war with France (too expensive)...

All world leaders are gangster, some just do a better job of hiding it... or give it a innocent sounding description like "rendition" name a crime (backed by a reputable source) that Gaddafi, Hussein, etc has done, that a sitting U.S. president since Eisenhower hasn't done (Kennedy, Johnson.
