No Pacquiao vs. Thurman thread????

Damn shame to lose to a washed 40 year. This makes Mayweather's absolute demolishing of Pax, look so much more amazing. I mean damn Mayweatherade Canelo look childish and stupid in the ring, and basically had Pac running in circles.

Mayweather is an asshole, but was such an amazing athlete.

OK, Pac has looked rejuvenated after losing to that sorry ass Australian dude. What they hell are they shooting up in his veins? How do you get more power, more active in your 40's, while training part time?

i notice there was no vada drug testing

Thurman can't take a body shot and his chin is suspect. The word is he was stopped a couple of times in the amateurs.
that same liver shot drop del la hoya. thurman took that same shot from collazo. didn't drop either. he can take a body shot. if he couldn't he would of been on the canvas. spence even gave him respect for taking a shot that most fighters would drop from. how is his chin suspect he never been knocked out. this was his only 2nd knock down as a pro. he's not khan.

Not that it matters now, but it shouldn't have been a knockdown. Pacquiao stepped on his foot:

I stand corrected, I didn't realize he was visibly hurt to the body so much but he still stood strong and walked them all off. He is vulnerable to the body but he's tough enough to come back from them.
He didn’t walk Mannys off. Manny underestimated the damage he did and didn’t follow up immediately. ..

It doesn't matter that you feel he could have stopped Thurman, the punch that hurt him didn't stop him, he walked it off and finished the fight. Marquez didn't walk off those 3 knockdowns if it was 30 seconds more in that round Pac would've finished him.

I don't think Thurman has a problem with toughness, he has definitely showed a good chin. But I remember what my doctor told me when I broke a rib, a broken rib may never heal. If you tore the cartilage, it will never heal completely without surgery. One thing about those two body shots is, they're both southpaws so they're punching with their strongest hand. I haven't really seen him too bothered by a conventional fighter.

Floyd's opponents go to the after party with a demoralizing "L"

Oh his fights ain't close but let's not put them into the category of folks who routinely send folks to the Emergency Room after the fight. Floyd's style is unique but it's also unique in how it's officiated. The term is "swing round". Floyd wins all of them. There are at least four rounds in every fight where both fighters do little to nothing. Floyd does just enough to win them. All of them plus the ones where he actually fights. He's the only fighter I can think of that wins them all and that says a lot about him.

Lennox Lewis tried to say this, but the cock sucking commentator working with him was having none of it... as if LENNOX fucking LEWIS doesn't know boxing. I'd make sure that CAC ate crow after showing him this pic.
Yep...it looked like he stepped on his foot in real time and the replays too...was surprised they shut down Lennox like that....props to Thurman for not using it as an excuse

you can't take nothing away from this victory...it was amazing that a man who has had several wars in his 70+ fight career and who won his first world title 20 years ago as a teenager..do the same thing against a younger, strong, and prime welterweight..what a fight...they both left trademarks but thurman really got lumped up by pac...i watched this in the theater when pac knocked thurman, the whole damn theater erupted..same when keith got on his bike after the body shot in round 10..excellent fight and pac is once again the number 1 welterweight in the world

Thurman wasnt considered the number one welterweight in the world...he has the best current wins in the division (in recent years, obviously Pacman has better wins over time) but was considered an unknown commodity after his layoff and subsequent rusty performance against Lopez...Pacquiao has definitely put himself up there but Spence and Crawford are regarded as the best welterweights and nothing that happened on Saturday changed that...Thurman was looked at as vulnerable

Keith has been ass cheeks since the surgery and he knows it. That’s why he doesn’t want to fight Spence, because Spence would knock him out. He’s not the same fighter and not as good or as explosive as he was before. He fought Many because he wanted a payday and to get his name mentioned with popular boxers.

Agreed

I will admit I don't get Floyd. Just say you're retired and that you have nothing else to prove professionally. The whole people want to see you lose is getting old as fuck. I'd like to see how far you can push it. It's not like Welterweights haven't won Middleweight, Light-Heavy, Cruiser belts.

i like crawford a lot but his best win at 147 are jeff horn and amir khan; spence's are a worn down lamont peterson. a 135 mikey garcia,. and a kell brook who was already put through the wringer by GGG..neither of them have done anything to separate themselves in comparison to what pacquiao did on top of his ww run...they are notable good welters and champions but they are not the best overall..pac is the best welterweight in the world..let both of them take out a top prime welterweight like pacquiao did before any real arguments they are the best pops off

i personally thought keith needed another stiffer warmup....him getting buckled and almost stopped by josesito lopez more than convinced me it was needed..regardless keith didnt lay down and fought his ass off against manny and should be commended...i just hope this loss makes him refocus so he can make another run at a title

Keith couldn't let the Manny opportunity pass him by....if he truly is done, a stiffer warmup might have taken him out for a lot less money...he definitely needed another tune up but his decision made perfect sense from the business angle

Your opinion is your opinion...that's cool...just understand that most boxing people considered Spence and Crawford the best at that weight and still do...Manny could have fought Spence, Crawford or Porter...he chose Thurman...Spence fight (especially right after Spence beat Garcia) would have been bigger and he still chose Thurman

Nigga Manny don’t want his ass beat! :roflmao:

Manny’s trying to make money and prolong his career, you damn right he chose Thurman!

Thurman would have been my choice too...even though he has a win over him, I would pick Thurman before I fought Porter based off current form and Porter's rough style....I dont blame Manny at all...just pointing it out for the who is number one argument ...that being said I dont think Manny fears nobody...just smart business

then floyd doubled-down...

FOH! Floyd didn't right this shit! This guy is damn near functionally illiterate.
Now he writes with perfect use of sentence structure, diction, punctuation, spelling Oxford commas, even a semicolon placement.

FOHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
