..at least he wont have to worry..Snyderbots spreading rumors

Don’t laugh, but think about replacing him with Jay Ellis. Dude is 6’2 and has the Clark Kent look. I would’ve went with Denzel son John David Washington, but I think he’s too short.

People are making too much of this. Why did he need to show up? He has no current DC projects coming out plus he filming in in another country dor the Witcher. It was an unsubstantiated rumor without any source or credibility that he would be there.

You can't bail on something you wasn't even supposed to be at.

:hithead:

Plus, he already said he wants to continue the role.

It's Shazam. It's supposed to be. The first one was good. My kids loved it and are excited about part 2.

Good on them for liking it. I on the other hand can want something beyond buffoonery.

not every movie has to be a kids movie or revolve around kids. Just make the Shazam series rated G so adults know to avoid it.

I don't mind it.

It's keeping in tone with the original comics/cartoons.

One of his enemies(Mr.Mind) is a talking worm..

One of his friends(Tawky Tawny) is a talking tiger.

They really can't make it "dark & gritty."

You don't have to be "dark and gritty" but not every single line in a movie has to be a joke or a gag for cheap laughs. Not everything in the movie should be there for a gag.

"You know I'm a pediatrician, right?"

What purpose does that entire scene have other than being a gag reel? And if you're going to base every minute of a movie on being funny, at least be funny.

Zachary Levi Bets Friendship with DC Studios Heads on Plans For Shazam

Shazam!'s Zachary Levi comments on the hero's future in the hands of DC bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran, saying their friendship depends on it.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods star Zachary Levi has commented on his hero's future under DC Studios CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, joking that the two will no longer be his friends if there are no plans for the character moving forward.

Shared on Twitter, while on stage at Comic Con Portugal 2022, Levi was asked about Shazam!'s future in the DC Universe, prompting him to praise his two friends who have turned into his bosses. He turned to the fan and said, "So, your question is, 'If those two are my bosses, is there a plan and a future for Shazam!?' I would say, 'Yeah.' I would hope so." Levi then added, "Those are my friends, and if they don't have a plan, then they are not my friends anymore. No sir."

DC Studios' Two CEOs and Their Prior DC Work, Explained

Gunn and Safran were named co-chairs and co-CEOs of DC Studios back in late October, which replaced the former DC Films at Warner Bros. Discovery. Previously, Gunn served as the writer and director of The Suicide Squad (2021), as well as the creator, writer, showrunner, executive producer and a director for HBO Max's Peacemaker series. As for Safran, he has been an executive producer on Aquaman (2018), Shazam! (2019), The Suicide Squad and Fury of the Gods, as well as the upcoming Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom movies slated to release in 2023.

In addition to the Aquaman sequel, Blue Beetle and The Flash movie coming out, Fury of the Gods is set to be one of DC Studios' 2023 releases. A sequel to Shazam!, the movie brings back Levi as the electrified superhero, pitting him and the Shazam Family against the Daughters of Atlas: Hespera (Helen Mirren), Kalypso (Lucy Liu) and Anthea (Rachel Zegler). No official plans for a third Shazam! movie have been announced as of writing, however.

No One Knows the Future of the DCU Except James Gunn and Peter Safran

According to Gunn in November, the two have been mapping out an eight to 10-year plan for the DCU, one that stretches across film, television, animation and even video games. On Nov. 18, Gunn shot down anyone claiming to know about the DCU's future that isn't the two CEOs, reaffirming this on Dec. 8 after an article from The Hollywood Reporter claimed that future DCU projects had been canceled, such as a third Wonder Woman movie and a Man of Steel sequel. Gunn tweeted out, "As for the story yesterday in the Hollywood Reporter, some of it is true, some of it is half-true, some of it is not true, & some of it we haven't decided whether it's true or not."

Gunn and Safran are expected to present their "DC Universe Bible" to Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav soon, but what plans they have for Shazam!, if any, remain undisclosed. Shazam! Fury of the Gods releases in theaters on March 17, 2023.
