I remember reading somewhere they went with the absorbing man and zzaaxx sorta combined, just goes to show that if they couldn't decide, and we are debating, the villain was weak.
Everything I've heard behind Heath Ledger's Joker (RIP) is that its outstanding, Hulk is gonna have to do something fierce to go up against that. Not to mention the Iron Man trailer was a lot better than I thought it would be, and should be a good film.

I agree. There is a difference between special and visual effects. Anyone with at least a year of film school under their belt knows this. A good mix of animatronics, puppetry, and make-up/prosthetics then touched up with special effects in post will do wonders beyond complete CGI. There are still many things that cannot be captured with CGI alone. Also, I'd like to point out "rebooting" by biting the TV show is not the move, as Norton seems to think. The love story is cool, but it needs to be peripheral. Fans do not, I repeat, DO NOT love The Hulk because of the love story. It is vital to the character sure, but not the most important element. The most important element is his struggle with himself, the inner beast, (i.e. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde mixed with the relationship between Dr. Frankenstein and his monster. That's taken directyl from Stan Lee, the man who created The Hulk and countless others in the Marvel universe, for those who might not know).
I fear this movie will fail again. I'm still going to see it but that's my prediction.

There are many foes the Hulk can face and they would be able to make it interesting on film, but they chose Abomination and now they don't want to use the name, when it could've been a quick fix such as a codename for the creature as part of a military top secret mission.
Hollywood fucks up comic book movies all day! Nothing new. All I know, things will be right in 168 days when The Dark Knight hits theatres.
Also, they could've easily started to put together a precursor to an Avengers movie if they would've put Tony Stark in this one by him selling one or two prototype "HulkBusters" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hulkbusters to the military. From there they could've set up a nice Avengers movie.

Problem with a Hulk movie is that there isn't much material worth developing. Hulk is one of my all time favorite characters but the books used to suck. He was only good in a team-up, group, or when he fought another marvel hero. Avengers, Secret Wars, etc was the shit. Dont know too many people who actually collected Hulk issues. It was so bad that if John Bryne didn't draw him, nobody collected it.

1. Doc Samson was written into the movie by Ed Norton
2. there are clues in Hulk and Iron Man concerning them being in the same universe and hints at the crossover. In fact, William Hurt's General Ross will be in Iron Man.

The Hulk was the shit when written by Peter David in the late 80's, early 90's and had a few hot artists on it (including Gary Frank). He has been written well recently by Greg Pak with the Planet Hulk and World War Hulk storylines.
