I don't think you guys understand something. Once a person tells you that they're willing to die or stage a coup for you, you no longer have to pretend to look out for that person's interest.

Uncle Chuck...

this that part of the of the 2:00 just aggressive bar after bar after bar track

when you just TALK

Just say THAT line on the outro

and let us hear you drop the mic to the ground.

US Senate passes $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill

The US Senate concluded a marathon voting session on Saturday, passing President Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill 50-49. The vote wrapped up a days-long process of debate and deliberation over the relief package. The measure now returns to the House of Representatives for another vote on Tuesday.

What you need to know

– The so-called vote-a-rama on bill amendments lasted more than 25 hours

– The bill provides direct payments of up to $1,400 for most Americans, extended emergency unemployment benefits and more

– A minimum wage increase introduced by Senator Sanders failed, 58-42

– House Majority Leader Hoyer says the House will take up the Senate version of the bill on Tuesday

I think it's interesting how the dems ran on increased monthly supplements back to $600, $2000 check, and minimum wage increase and none of it happened. But, very few of the supporters will really say anything.

It's a win lose situation. Dems will win some Republican voters who are receiving the stimulus and really need the funds and lose some of the dems who have now been cut out due to the restriction change.

Bernie, AOC, Omar and a few others have publicly shared their disapproval with this package and how the dems have handled this.

It's still crazy to see how many republicans voted against the bill. Maybe they could argue that they wanted more. That's why they vored no. Lol!! Both parties have serious issues.

Remember the Heroes act? Remember Kamala Harris pushing for monthly income prior to being named VP? Remember Pelosi and here  "$600 or they can eat cake!"

SOME of us saw through the politics, while others didn't.

Even though dems pulled a bait-and-switch, the GOP really never wanted to give people anything. Only Trump and his flunkies did before the election just to try to buy it.

Manchin still needs his ass kicked.

Don't worry, Will Smith is coming to save America. The blueprint is there. Hollywood celebrity running for President, we've seen 2 of them so don't discount the idea.

Biden stimulus showers money on Americans, sharply cutting poverty and favoring individuals over businesses

March 6, 2021 at 4:02 p.m. EST
President Biden’s stimulus package, which passed the Senate on Saturday, represents one of the most generous expansions of aid to the poor in recent history, while also showering thousands or, in some cases, tens of thousands of dollars on Americans families navigating the coronavirus pandemic.

The roughly $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, which only Democrats supported, spends most of the money on low-income and middle-class Americans and state and local governments, with very little funding going toward companies. The plan is one of the largest federal responses to a downturn Congress has enacted and economists estimate it will boost growth this year to the highest level in decades and reduce the number of Americans living in poverty by a third.
This round of aid enjoys wide support across the country, polls show, and it is likely to be felt quickly by low- and moderate-income Americans who stand to receive not just larger checks than before, but money from expanded tax credits, particularly geared toward parents; enhanced unemployment; rental assistance; food aid and health insurance subsidies.
What’s in the Senate’s $1.9 trillion covid bill: Checks, unemployment insurance and more
But the ambitious legislation entails risks — both economic and political. The bill, which the House is expected to pass and send to Biden within days, injects the economy with so much money that some economists from both parties are warning that growth could overheat, leading to a bout of hard-to-contain inflation. Meanwhile, some businesses are saying that government aid has been so generous that they’re already having trouble getting unemployed workers to return to work — a problem that could be exacerbated by the legislation.

Unlike many other significant anti-poverty measures passed by Congress in history, this one has a short time horizon, with almost all the relief for families going away over the coming year. That could be an abrupt awakening for Americans who have grown accustomed to financial support since Congress moved swiftly to create a stronger safety net at the start of the pandemic a year ago. It also lacks the bipartisan imprint of former President Trump’s bills, which directed money in larger measure to companies as well as individuals.
Calculate how much you would get from the $1,400 (or more) coronavirus checks
“This legislative package likely represents the most effective set of policies for reducing child poverty ever in one bill, especially among Black and Latinx children,” said Indivar Dutta-Gupta, co-executive director of the Georgetown Center on Poverty and Inequality. “The Biden administration is seeing this more like a wartime mobilization. They’ll deal with any downside risks later on.”
The total numbers are staggering. Cumulatively, the government will hand out $2.2 trillion to workers and families between the relief passed last year and this latest bill, according to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a nonpartisan group. That’s equivalent to what the government spends annually on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid combined.

that is the MOST naive statement I've seen you make so far in a political thread.

this is the crunchy crux of my contention with you guy's position. You guys act like you took the red pill and see the matrix for what it is when the reality is we all know theres manipulations and shanigans going down but when it all boils down..when the rubber meets the road...when you come to the fork in the path (yeah I know.. alot of fuckin metaphors) YOURE GOING TO HAVE TO MAKE A CHOICE! what was the republican plan for a 2nd stimulus (and this is still the 2nd stimulus) it wasn't 2000 dollars or 1400 dollars and it wasn't anything else they consider a "wishlist" in the bill.

Did the dems come thru with everything they promised..NO we know this but its still a more palatable choice than what the republicans were going to do given the leverage.

Again this is NOT cheerleading for the democratic party. I'm not happy with how that shit went down AT ALL and every single one of the nay voters should be primaried and pressure applied across the board but thats ACTION...all this sniping on the board from the usual suspects, while it can be called criticism, its certainly NOT constructive and it seems more designed to be disparaging and discouraging people to participate and make shit happen.

Calling anyone a fool for voting for democrats in THIS SPECIFIC SITUATION is just plain ridiculous and it doesn't enlighten anyone to anything. Nor does it prove you know better since we're all in the same leaky sinking boat.

You’re sounding straight up brainwashed, like a bot (only programmed to do what it is told), to keep parroting that “we only have two choices” narrative. The reality is that many people don’t care about these issues because it isn’t affecting them and push the narrative of “vote BLUE or die” because they want their immigrant and LGBT rights expanded. The cowards are just too afraid to admit it because they would reveal they’re compromised.

The funny thing is there is a pinned thread dedicated to Biden (something that wasn’t even done for Obama) on BGOL and the majority of the content in the thread is about Republicans or Trump. That’s why the blue team keeps losing because they are focused on the wrong shit. Anyone that is still supporting a national level Democrat without criticism and demand for change is an agent at this point. Nothing they are doing is defendable and Biden is making his mentor Strom Thurmond proud with constant attacks against the people that he said he was going to take care of. :smh:

There are a lot of people that need something to get done and for them, I hope all goes smoothly for now.
Honestly, the best thing this whole mess has done was to show the American people what some of us have been saying - these politicians are not your friends. They are not down with the people. They are not dependable in a crisis. Plan for yourself and your family and move accordingly. The next disaster is always right around the corner, so preparation is key. Once everything opens back up fully, people should be making plans.

Come on man. I got you to admit back in the fall that Pelosi was obstructing. MOST on your side wouldn't admit that because they couldn't even fucking see it. So saying WE ALL KNOW, is bullshit. How many times did fools invoke that showpiece Heroes act? People really fucking believed that was a serious piece of legislation and you talking WE ALL KNOW. You the only one strongly for democrats I seen admit to Pelosi's obstruction.

Off top, I'd say 80 percent of democrats thought the Heroes act was a serious piece of legislation, yet we talk about the Fox news crowd falling for bullshit.

If you are being 1000 percent honest, you know Trump was willing to go 2k in the fall and they were also offering $300 for UE. Nancy was like  "heel of the loaf and no Trump name on checks!!! 600 or death to the poors!!!" Wolf Blitzer called that bitch Pelosi out and there were some cornballs on BGOL siding with Pelosi. Bruh, the receipts all there. Now the heel of the loaf is filet mignon.

Also, I never called anyone a fool for voting for the democrats. I will call people fools for making excuses for them AFTER voting. Basically, voting and not demanding. Fuck that.

If everybody wants to see how Pelosi and a Democrat government actually works then take a trip to San Francisco.

You will see racist cops, rampant drug use, extreme poverty and bankers stepping over the homeless in $1,000 patent leather shoes. You will also find political corruption, environmental scandals and the kind of housing segregation that would make Franklin Roosevelt proud. Don't get me started on public schools that do almost nothing to prepare students for the world's most lucrative tech industry.

The city gets a few things right, but it's hardly the utopia most diehard liberals would expect it to be. Our left leaning leaders are just as corrupt and ineffective as most Republicans are.

dude I don't see anyone cracking champagne bottles over the deal. And like biden trump was never gonna get 2000 across you know it and I know it. What was in the republicans skinny bill?? no stimulus check, 300 bucks or 70 % of your earnings? and then it dwindles from there? Trump didnt have the power to pull off anymore than that.

And how many Republicans voted yea on this bill?? I forget how many voted yea??

how many voted yea on obamacare??

As far as voting dem and not demanding thats bullshit..AOC is demanding, bernie is demanding and many black groups are demanding. The issue is the party as we've all seen over the decades doesn't move lockstep on every issue that's not an excuse that's reality. The dems get some leverage and get ready to do some shit and lo and behold here comes the CONSERVATIVE DEMS to pull a spoiler! Where the fuck have these assholes been all this time?? Everytime theres a progressive push the conservative dems rear their ugly heads. (guess whats going to happen if/when reparations gets closer to being a real thing) we see time and time again that politics is a game of alliance building and leveraging that and the ones most effective at making that happen get things done... So the notion that no one is NOT demanding anything is just not true.

I'm happy for those that are getting checks. One part of me is mad, and the other part is grateful that my wife and I are in a position to where we don't qualify for a check.

Real fucking talk.

Would have been a good little amount to use for a home project or just invest, but daily I thank God I've maintained a job during these times and my family lacks for nothing, and I'm in a position to not need the checks.

Manchin needs his ass all the way kicked. All this is because of his bitch ass. Now there is a delay. :smh: The big bitch is like Mitch's right-hand man. And this the cat claim he wanted 'targeted' relief, yet he keeps wanting to cut money for UE.

He is parroting Portman(r) talking points. The dems need to end this guy's career with the quickness.

How do you end his career when it is republicans keeping him in office?

If it is Democrats voting for him then that poverty stricken state is even sadder than I thought.

Fucking right dude. No matter what happens, all they'll respond with is "thank you sir may I have another".
