Netfix: OZARK Season 4 Discussion Thread (spoilers) (season 4 trailer!!) (drops 1/21/2022)

I'm on the 3rd episode. 2 cliches that annoy me. You'll see it soon.

damn...dude let the wife live...I wouldn't be surprised if the cliches revolved around her and the daughter...both bitches annoying as fuck

My bro hit me up and said I have to check this series out. Bateman don't bullshit and it has a good plot, so we'll see

Watched the first 2 eps on Thursday evening. We definitely dug it. The pacing was set very quickly. Good to see Bateman in a dramatic role after years of the comedic variety. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

show is entertaining for the same reason I'm not entirely crazy about...just too much bizarre shit happens to the point that the shit seems cartoonish...it makes for a fun watch but I have to suspend disbelief far too often...it almost feels like a dark comedy even tho that isn't necessarily the intention...reminds me of breaking bad in a sense...which was highly entertaining bcuz of all the action and shit but @ the same time I felt the story/writing was overrated due to how implausible the shit was most of the time w/ walter always surviving all the crazy shit that'd happen (y'all can try and argue me down on this...it's alway been my opinion and there are no "facts" to "prove" otherwise)...and the daughter looks like jaden smith...bitch ugly as hell...anyway 3 more eps left to watch...I'll probably finish it up today

Things will come together by the end...

I'd still recommend staying out of here especially the first page if you don't want to be spoiled.

I get your point but to me.. this show reminds me of a combination of Breaking Bad and Justified....

As country boy... I can relate to these characters and the weirdness of it all.

But what I like is that it's showing a part of the criminal game that hasn't been shown yet on tv... we always hear about gangs and crime lords cleaning their money but we've never really seen a show really go into detail how it's done.

Even in comedies, he always plays the straight man. Arrested Development and Horrible Bosses come to mind.

Enjoy how Marty and Bruce and the Old man trucking company and their wives would be the ones to talk down on the drug users, dealers, and everything else. They'd vote for reform and all of this other shit and yet they owe their entire lives directly to drugs.. like they are drug dealing TOO but they don't see it as that they have delusionized themselves to be detached from the reality and then the reality hits.
It's why Bruce and the boy can try and steal 8 million over 3 years when they're making MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FOR DOING NOTHING
It's why Marty didn't take the Snell's seriously immediately and had to learn that he better had. He kept talking about his employers but the Snell's are drug dealers too.

I'm still curious to find out who was the person that saved Marty from being electrocuted on the dock.

We know that at that moment.. Ruth had intentions to kill him but someone put everything back.

The FBI agent fixed everything he was watching it all then he approached the brother about it.

Jonna is a G.
he's not terrifying he's just incredibly smart and can adapt to his surroundings. He's going to be Marty/Del 2.0
whatever he is taught he absorbs like a sponge.
Before he found out his parents dealt with drugs he would not have taken that stance on drugs in school. After, he absolutely did. Before he was worried about a hit man watching the crib he wouldn't have gotten that assault rifle. After he absolutely got it and was ready. When the LT came in the house he had the assault rifle ready to defend his family.
He's going to learn and improve how to wash money.
It's going to be a more charismatic "the accountant" origin story.

Underrated moment.
When old man told the wife that if him and his ex had argued like they did they'd still be together.
I felt the same way that they would work it out once it's all on the table

Also blue cat lady ran off with a wall full of money
