Warriors may offer Ellis for Ray Allen
The trading deadline is less than a month away, and rumors seem to grow like algae.
This is especially true when it comes to players with expiring contracts such as Boston's Ray Allen.
While the Celtics have maintained repeatedly that they have no intentions of moving any of their core guys between now and the Feb. 18 trading deadline -- and I believe 'em on this one -- multiple league sources confirmed today that the Golden State Warriors are giving some thought to putting together a trade package that would involve Monta Ellis going to Boston in exchange for Allen.

Clippers acquire Bobby Brown
The New Orleans Hornets have lined up the last move they need to make to get under the NBA’s luxury-tax threshold.
NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com that the Hornets have reached a verbal agreement on a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers that will send reserve guard Bobby Brown to the Clippers for a conditional future second-round draft pick.
A trade call with the league office to formally approve the deal is scheduled for Tuesday morning, sources said.
The Hornets were roughly $425,000 over the league’s $69.9 million tax threshold after Monday’s deal with Chicago that sent guard Devin Brown to the Bulls for big man Aaron Gray.
Moving Brown’s $736,420 salary gets New Orleans comfortably under the tax line, which will put the Hornets in line to receive a rebate approaching $5 million that is paid out to all non-tax teams during the summer.

"We're excited to add Devin," general manager Gar Forman said in a statement. "His toughness, defensive versatility and shooting will be excellent additions to our perimeter rotation."
Brown, 32, is averaging 9.7 points in 24.8 minutes and started 37 of his 39 appearances for the Hornets. In seven NBA seasons, Brown has averaged 7.3 points in 454 career games.

The Chris Bosh Trade Rumors Are Heating Up
The Lakers rumor, that was originally reported by the NY Post, is probably exactly just that, a rumor. With the Lakers’ already having an All-Star power forward in Pau Gasol, I can’t see them trading for Bosh for Bynum- unless they weren’t planning on trying to re-sign CB4 in order to save money. Bosh going to Chicago for possibly a Kirk Hinrich and Thomas or for Joakim Noah and John Salmons, could be a good move for Toronto. If they get Noah, they would have a strong rebounder to replace Bosh and allow Bargnani and Turkoglu to increase their scoring roles. Would either of these Bulls trades be market value? Not even close. But would they be better than getting nothing? Absolutely.
If the Warriors are serious with parting with Randolph, the Raptors should seriously entertain that offer. Most likely, Golden State would have to throw someone else in like a Monta Ellis, Stephen Curry or Andris Biedrins to make it work. The Raptors would be getting a younger (and cheaper) version of Bosh along with possibly a good shooting guard in either Ellis or Curry.
But maybe the most interesting possibility is Bosh heading to his home state of Texas by getting traded to the Rockets. As it was reported on ESPN before the weekend, the Raptors could acquire one of Houston’s top talents like Luis Scola, Trevor Ariza, Aaron Brooks for Bosh. Of course, the kicker is whether McGrady would have to be part of that deal. It would be a great move for Houston, who would instantly become a legitimate contender out West. But at the same time, it seems there’s not enough in the deal to entice Toronto to make that move.

With the Wizards thinking about re-making their team, moving the 33-year-old to give them flexibility actually makes some basketball sense over the long term in addition to big financial savings starting next year.

The Hornets traded Devin Brown yesterday and Marcus Thornton stepped up and had a good game last night the Hornets beat the Blazers 98-97. Getting Rid of Devin and Bobby probably will allow Marcus Thorton and Darren Collison more playing time, playing time that both players wouldn't have gotten had Byron Scott still been here

Amare can walk this summer and leave the Suns with nothing in return.
The Suns aren't going to be championship contenders anytime so but I'm sure they want to at be competitive and at least make the playoffs every year.
They can trade Amare to the Bulls for Kirk Hinrich, Tyrus Thomas and some bum on the bench. To the Knicks for Eddie Curry and Jared Jefferies, play 2010 and have free agent money for 2011.

Phoenix, Houston and San Antonio all happen to be on losing streaks right now though.
I mean a road win is a road win no doubt. I don't care if you beat the Clippers at home its still on the road and its a solid win. But those 3 teams happen to be struggling all at the same time right now. Actually most of the west is for some reason except the Thunder and Grizzlies it seems. A lot of inconsistent play going on right now.

I haven't heard this one and I can't see the Hornets making this move with Chris Paul's star power.

Remember New Orleans is a Football town first. When we lost the Jazz in 1979 according to those who were around it was like water off a duck's ass. With the Saints in the Super Bowl, only hardcore basketball fans, Hornets fans and Chris Paul fans are paying attention right now the rest of New Orleans probably wont turn its attention to the Hornets till after daylight savings time comes back into effect, with out Chris Paul who's gonna watch and I'm pretty sure ownership knows this.
