NBA Trade Rumors

Sorry double post

"There are some teams you may say no way (to). But I don't think the Nets are one of them," said Stoudemire, adding that he sees "potential" in the Nets and that he feels they can "definitely contend in the near future if they (add) the right pieces."

Also Chris Paul is not going no where. No way does the Hornets traded CP3 now maybe when it's time for him to resign out of fear he may not return.

The Spurs are one year away from being what the Pistons are.

Manu has already said he doesn't expect to return next season. He is pissed that the Spurs didn't offer him an extension after injuring himself last summer. He felt they betrayed him and will punish them by leaving and going to a rival. What rival he is talking about? IDK?

Also I told people RJ is trash and has only been good beside Jason Kidd.

Amare has recently expressed untreated in the Nets despite their record. The Net have the most most money in the off season and will likely get the number 1 draft pick.

Which if they draft Walls are expected to move Devin Harris.

Amare wants max money. Which no team may want to give him and the Nets will likely not end up with James and might go with Amare and Rudy Gay. Rudy wants 60 million for 5 years. The Nets are the only team that can do that and sign Amare to a max deal.

WALL
Lee
Gay
Amare
Lopez

Could be the Nets roster for 2010-11. One draw back if it doesn't work they over paid two players.

if all that falls in place for them that would be a nice squad, plus add in what they would get for harris

they fucked up not drafting tyreke evans. if they had him, they could do it no problem.

memphis and OKC fucked up passing on tyreke evans

you cant sell the fans you are trying to build a team and you get rid of gay, especially for prince

Grizz would be dumb as fuck to trade Rudy Gay

They are trading him because he refuse the extension. He actually turn down 50 mil for 5 years.

Everyone was scratching their heads on that one but remember Rudy has problems with Mayo.

Kobe vs Shaq type problems. They have nearly come to blows several times.

Also Gay knows one team is going to lose out on the Lebron sweepstakes and will need to do something to make up for it.

Nets are likely. He can go there an automatically be the leader he wanted to be when Gasol left and before Mayo came.

Gay wants 60 mil for 5 years and the Nets are dumb enough to do it. It's smart if they get Walls and sign Amare.

Though they could be same position the pistons are in right now

Dallas has been talking to the Kings for Kevin Martin. Josh Howard.

http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nba/news/story?id=4848601

Dallas feels they are a few pieces away and the big advantage is the Team option they have on Dampier and Howard.

Say what you want about Cuban but the man does not throw away money.

Look at Devin Harris and his contract:lol: Harris is an all star but makes 8 million a year until 2012-13.

plus he gave Howard a contract with a team option he was an all star and 20 plus scorer.

smart man.

Mavs aint bout to do shit!

If anything, I think the Mavs will make the biggest move. They always do something big when no one expects it. I see Howard, Barea, Terry and a spare being moved for Iggy, Bosh, Monte Ellis, or Kelvin Martin.

Notice how Roddy's been getting minutes? Singelton too. They getting ready to move some cats.

One team that shouldn't make a move is the Rockets.

Unless you are getting Bosh don't do shit.

T-mac money comes off the books and helps you during the off season.

Sure Yao might be over but with the right signing the scrappiest team in the league can really make some noise.

Yeah I remember when he turned down that 10 mill a year extension

Some team will probably give him more than that, he is worth more than prince maybe they can do a sign and trade in the summer

I just hope we dont make a desperate move

Cuban wants to win but if teams are gonna try and screw him we should just wait until the summer and let our contracts come off the books

I hope Roddy keeps getting minutes and we trade JJ

The Lakers tried to get Devin Harris for Sasha.

What is it with them? They think they can fuck everyone like they did with Gasol??

If everything goes right, Memphis can get to the 4th spot by sunday, especially since theres a lot of West vs West games going on. They need that home court spot

Assessing the Cavaliers' chances for Washington's Antawn Jamison: NBA Insider

So where does that leave the Cavs and Jamison? Unlike so many trade scenarios between teams that crop up during every season, there is a natural trade that can be made. The Cavs can offer the Wizards salary relief by trading Zydrunas Ilgauskas straight up for Jamison, thus getting the Wizards off the hook for the $28 million.

That's not a deal that makes basketball sense, of course. But almost no trades that are being made these days are for talent reasons. With the Wizards thinking about re-making their team, moving the 33-year-old to give them flexibility actually makes some basketball sense over the long term in addition to big financial savings starting next year.

But it will not be that simple. The Wizards will probably want more, perhaps a prospect like J.J. Hickson and maybe even draft picks. The Cavs, of course, won't want to pay that price and may demand Ilgauskas be released as part of the deal. Because $28 million is still $28 million.

the cavs need to keep hickson, he's a live body. ferry keeps adding a 30 something vet with a large contract EVERY year, and it always ends up biting the Cavs in the ass. if they can send big Z and then have the wiz cut him and have jamison too then its probably worth doing....

but honestly the Cavs just need to sit the fuck down and play ball. I'm tired of contenders getting handed these sweetheart deals at the trade deadline.

Getting rid of Hickson wont be that much of an problem with Powe coming back soon, however if they give up Hickson, big Z and a draft pick, they are going to demand Jamison along with a back up center because there is no way in hell the Cavs are going to leave Shaq out there with out a serviceable back up.

man I just went to a cavs game and saw these guys up close, I'm telling you Hickson is big, strong, and athletic. he's young but he can be the 4 man that the Cavs need long term and he's pretty good right now. Powe's body is about 48 years old, he's a role player period. I wouldn't give him up for jamison, whose defense is a little suspect. the Wizards are desperate for cap relief, they can bitch them and make them jsut take big Z. anyway I think they should stand. they are so worried about losing lebron that they are going to make some horrible move and fuck their cap situation up long term. lebron's not leaving, it would destroy his public image as a good guy. the way to keep lebron is to have good pieces in place. keep hickson, and use that cap room from big z and shaq's expiring contracts to sign somebody.

Hickson is big, and has some potential, however, dude can not put the ball on the ground, and all he can do is slam. Powe, Varejao and Jamison are all you need from the PF position. The thing is if they give up big Z they are going to need a back up at center, and the only way I see them getting some quality is to give up Hisckson (who would be expendable with Jamison and Powe in the line up) and a draft pick (remember last years draft pick is playing in Europe so he should be ready to play next year, so losing a first round wont be that horrible for them.
Only one stumbling block I see, that is Big Z is a white fan favorite who has been here since day one and I doubt if they would part ways with him, when they are this close to winning it all, but lets face it, if he were black he would have been gone already!

I won't mind having Rudy in a mavs uniform. Hell, Memphis gave up Gasol, why not give us a hook up?

Fam as much I'd like to see his scoring power in our lineup...you know the Mavs not adding a "nigga" to the lineup. They want 'good guys' to sell to these CACs.

Moves like trading for Erick Dampier after he signed a $72 million dollar contract.

Spurs consider bidding for Stoudemire

Another intriguing suitor could emerge in the bidding for Phoenix Suns star Amar’e Stoudemire(notes): the San Antonio Spurs.

Multiple league sources say the Spurs’ front office has researched and debated pursuing Stoudemire to play alongside Tim Duncan.

There are questions for the Spurs to answer: Would they be willing to part with the personnel – including possibly Manu Ginobili – to make a deal happen?

Do the Spurs want to re-sign Stoudemire to a contract extension and swell their payroll?

The Miami Heat are exploring the possibility of a deal, but Pat Riley also knows he can keep Dwyane Wade and sign Stoudemire as a free agent this summer. Miami’s president doesn’t have to make a trade now. Chicago, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Detroit and Minnesota are among other teams with an interest with Stoudemire.

The Spurs need a young, athletic frontcourt complement for an aging Duncan. Despite taking on significant payroll this summer in moves for Richard Jefferson and Antonio McDyess, it’s become clearer to the Spurs that their frontline is still ill-equipped to overthrow the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Spurs have always maintained an interest in Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh, a Texas native, but Raptors’ general manager Bryan Colangelo
has yet to show a strong inclination to trade his star before his impending free agency this summer.

Joe Dumars doesn't want a trade -- yet

Joe Dumars holds two fingers in the air during a quiet workout at the Pistons practice facility.

There's significance to that number. It's the number of games the Pistons have played with a healthy roster. And that's why Dumars, president of the Pistons, isn't in the trade market right now.

So you can forget rumors of bringing in Carlos Boozer (Jazz), Chris Kaman (Clippers) or Amare Stoudemire (Suns).

Dumars says the rumors aren't true. He's more interested in evaluating his team than adding to it.

The problem is, he can't study his product until it's whole again.

"You have to play with each other for a full stretch before you can get a feel for exactly how your team plays," Dumars said. "That's what I am trying to say. I think it would be premature to do something right now."

Kahn won't trade Al Jefferson, unless ...

NEW YORK - ... "someone calls up with a deal that’s so preposterously one-sided, we'd have to do it."

Those words came from the mouth of Minnesota Timberwolves general manager David Kahn, who spoke to me this morning at Madison Square Garden while the folks back home in Minneapolis were wondering why the possibility of trading Jefferson was back in the news.

Kahn acknowledged that the Wolves have received offers for Jefferson, but he emphasized that he is not looking to trade the 25-year-old cornerstone of the franchise.

“I think Al actually backed up exactly the conversation we had face-to-face in Denver a couple of weeks ago, and that was as follows: ‘Al, I am not looking to trade you, and that’s the truth. I haven’t made one phone call all year long proposing a deal that involved Al Jefferson, and I won’t do so this year,’ " Kahn said.

Ray Allen wants to stay a Celtic

His name already has been floated as a trade possibility, but this drill is nothing new for Ray Allen.

The Feb. 18 trade deadline accelerates everything at this time of year - perhaps even more than usual this season because of next summer’s unprecedented free agent class - and the Celtics [team stats] guard is strapped in for the ride.

“I can’t say I get worried, because it’s not like you say you’re getting traded and you have to move to Mars,” Allen, a prime candidate because of his expiring max contract, said after yesterday’s practice. “I don’t look at it like that. I’ve been there before. I’ve been in a situation where I expected to be traded and I was traded. If one day I’m traded and told I have to move, then there’s nothing I can do about it. It’s the nature of this job, but the family is something I obviously have to deal with first.”

Brown's arrival might pave way for more Bulls moves

On the surface, Monday's trade by the Bulls was a no-brainer: They gave up someone who rarely plays for a veteran guard with playoff experience.

The Bulls sent third-year center Aaron Gray to New Orleans for 6-foot-5 guard Devin Brown, who also has played for the Spurs, Cavs and Jazz during eight years in the NBA. He won a title with San Antonio in 2005.

When Derrick Rose, Kirk Hinrich and John Salmons are all healthy and playing well, as they have been during the Bulls' surprising three-game winning streak, there isn't much need for a fourth guard. The Bulls have struggled all season to find court time for Jannero Pargo.

Brown's primary role figures to be as a replacement for Salmons or Hinrich, maybe even Luol Deng, should the Bulls succeed in making another trade before the Feb. 18 deadline.

There is no guarantee that will happen, since most NBA teams are reluctant to take on any extra salary right now. Hinrich has two more years remaining on his contract at a total of $17 million. That's not outrageous by NBA standards but definitely above market value.

A source confirmed the Bulls have had discussions with the Lakers about Hinrich, most likely for Adam Morrison and Sasha Vujacic, but nothing is imminent.

Salmons' contract is relatively low risk. He's owed $6.7 million next season and has an option to terminate the final year of his deal, so he might turn out to be an expiring contract anyway.

It's possible the Bulls could resurrect the potential deal sending Salmons, Brad Miller and Jerome James to Houston for Tracy McGrady and filler before the deadline.

By trading either guard before the deadline, the Bulls could have around $20 million to spend on free agents this summer and wouldn't have to sweat Salmons' decision of whether or not to opt out of his contract.

The Bulls' dream scenario is to sign Dwyane Wade or Atlanta's Joe Johnson this summer and also trade for an elite power forward. In theory, the team would become an instant title contender.

There are reports that Phoenix is again shopping all-star center Amare Stoudemire, who has the option of becoming a free agent. The Bulls' interest is mild, though there has been talk between the teams.

Petrie says team would look at sensible deal

With a little more than three weeks remaining before the NBA trade deadline, Kings basketball president Geoff Petrie on Tuesday hardly talked like a man hell-bent on doing a deal.

"If there's something that makes sense for us, we'll take a hard look at it," he said.

Yet that does not appear to include scenarios involving Martin, who returned Jan. 12 and has been the subject of increasing interest from teams ever since. Those teams that covet the sixth-year player are hoping the Kings look to move him, with NBA sources saying that list at present includes Dallas, Houston, Cleveland and Phoenix. Dallas, specifically, appears highly motivated to land Martin but may have to involve a third team to have even a remote chance of doing so.

What's TMAC's destination?

Chris Sheridan

All indications are that the process continues to move slowly. I still think it'll come down to the Knicks or the Bulls, unless an Iguodala offer is truly going to be put on the table by Houston. and if the talent the Bulls and Knicks are offering is relatively equal, I give the Knicks the edge because they can offer more financial relief in the form of Cuttino Mobley's expiring and insurance-paid contract, which is $3-plus million more than Jerome james' similar deal. Plus, James Dolan would be much more willing than Jerry Reinsdorf to throw $3 million in cash into the deal. Also, the Knicks could take back Brian Cook (expiring $3.5 million) and get Houston under the tax, which would mean another $4-plus million going into Les Alexander's wallet because the Rockets would then get a share of the revenues from the taxpaying teams.

So Josh Howard is almost certain to be moved by the deadline and has an almost-11 million dollar expiring contract. Mavs have recently been linked to Kevin Martin, Iggy, and Butler. What do you see the Mavs doing?

Chris Sheridan

The Mavs are trying to determine whether it behooves them to move Josh before the deadline or to hang onto him until after July 1, when he will become an unrestricted free agent (provided the mavs decline his team option) and can be used in a sign-and-trade deal (I wrote about this for today's Daily Dime. Plz go check it out). One problem here is that Josh hasn;t contributed much of anything since returning from injury a month into the season, so his value is down. That complicates matters.
