NBA Trade Rumors

The Celtics have initiated trade proposals on Allen, multiple league sources say, and Boston is searching for a younger, less expensive guard and an expiring contract. This way they can find a replacement for the 34-year-old Allen without losing him and his $20 million expiring contract for nothing in free agency this summer. Only, there isn’t a shooting guard available who’s Allen’s peer. This threatens a perilous choice between transitioning for the future and refusing to compromise a chance to win a title now.

Allen is privately resigned to the fact that it’s unlikely the Celtics will want to re-sign him this summer. He’s believed to be intrigued with the possibility of joining the Miami Heat or staying close to his Connecticut home and signing with the New York Knicks. Nevertheless, Allen wants to stay a Celtic and that’s never wavered. Yet the sheer economics make it improbable unless he’s willing to cost himself several million dollars next year.

What if Dallas could get Ray Allen for Howard, and Barea?

I know, I know, Boston wouldn't be that dumb right?

Gerald Green doesnt have a team and Carroll has a long term contract :smh:

Cuban didnt give him that deal though the Bobcats did

I dont give a fuck though

If we had never signed Diop to the MLE we would of not had to trade him for Carroll and Hollins...1/2 a season into his new contract at that

Its like as soon as diop signed on the dotted line the Mavs realized they had fucked up

Stupid summammabitches :hmm:

The Mavs aren't trading Josh unless they can get a good player back. No reason to trade for Allen because even if his $19 million comes off the books their still not gonna have enough money under the salary cap to sign a free agent this summer and their trying to win now.

The scenarios I had for Ray Allen would also work with Josh Howard with some adjustments.

Detroit for Richard Hamilton.

Chicago for Kirk Hinrich & Lindsey Hunter.

Washington for Caron Butler & Earl Boykins.

Sacramento for Kevin Martin.

You are forgetting the Iggy trade. In my opinion, getting Andre would be the best fit for what we got right now. We need a third scorer that's consistent with Dirk's, and Jet's scoring. Andre is young enough, and hungry enough to fit into the system. He is also workable with the future as well.

His contract still has four more years after this and I don't want to ever be paying him $16 million. Caron has only one more year at $10.5 million. The only thing is I think Philly will trade Iguodala way before Washington will trade Butler.

Iggy in the right system would work. Like I said, Dallas will only need Iggy to produce 15-20 points a game in which he more than likely could do with the talent around him. Plus, Iggy is better on the defensive end.

If they do that trade, they could put Jet back on the bench.

Pacers asking for too much for Murphy

The Pacers have already tried to send him to Cleveland, but those talks didn't last long because they were asking for too much, according to a source.

The Pacers wanted the Cavaliers to give up forward J.J. Hickson, center Zydrunas Ilgauskas and multiple draft picks for Murphy, the source said.

Teams are calling about J.J. Redick

As I said before, if they do make a deal it would likely involve one of their role players. Teams are calling about J.J. Redick but he has been playing so well lately. He has really made Vince Carter's struggles easier for the Magic because he can come in a contribute off of the bench. His play has attract suitors but Orlando may not want to move him since he's done so well as an insurance policy to Carter. I've heard that Chicago is interested in Redick and could offer John Salmons and his expiring contract for Redick and a filler (probably Bass or Johnson). If Orlando makes a move, it's going to be something smaller like this that doesn't change the face of the team but could still make an impact.

Kobe says get that bum Fisher out of here.

But if the Bulls can't move John Salmons' contract — or make another cost-cutting transaction — before the Feb. 18 trade deadline, interest in Hinrich is legitimate. SI.com recently reported the Celtics inquired about Hinrich, which team sources confirmed. Kobe Bryant is practically demanding the Lakers upgrade their backcourt as well.

he would be a good addtion to a team that is already good, but he is just about worthless when he is on a bad team

i just did some research real quick, he is a good player averaging close to a double double since sophomore year in the league. i just don't see him fitting in on the cavs or any team, he plays hard i guess but i cant remember seeing him making a play in a game. thank god cavs rejected trade offer, we need a dynamic player who can defend and get there own shot anytime, iguodala and jamison are perfect. but troy murphy seems terrible to me!!

Danny Ferry has to make a move to ensure a championship, bottom line Cavs should win a title this year. if they do not ferry and mike brown are to blame!!

Hickson, Big Z, and mulitiple draft picks(im sure 1st rounders):smh:

Hickson and Z for Troy is a good one for them

I hope they make the trade if they can do Hickson and Z for Troy.

Its good for me as a Lakers fan because the Cavs then give up a true center that cause the Lakers problems when matched up with Shaq. Also losing Hickson they would lose some toughness in the post for a jump shooting pf.

:smh:Big Z is done. Right now, and I like Big Z as a player, for the Cavs. But we aren't going anywhere soon, so we need shore up additional picks. Look out for our "future."

It's basically Hickson and additional picks. 2010 and beyond. And T Murph is worth that, at least.

And I'm glad the trade hasn't gone through.

Dunleavy Jr.

Honestly I dont think the Cavs want to give up Hickson

They are acting like the Lakers right now, dont want to give up anything but want quality in return

If the Sixers trade Iguadala i volunteer to help him pack his bags and get the fuck out of town.

And if he gets traded to Dallas I will volunteer to help him unpack his bags when he gets in town

He would be a great addition playing on our squad with Kidd, and we need a SG so bad its ridiculous

he can't shoot:lol::lol::lol::lol: back when he first got drafted everybody would blame iverson for not making him better blah blah blah but even after iverson left the team and he was the man in town he game still didnt improve.

if i was the sixers the only player i would make untouchable is Thad Young

We dont need him to shoot

Kidd shots 40% from 3 now

We have Dirk and Jet as well

Mavericks need an athletic slasher at the position

I'm not that big on Iggy, he's a 2010 version on Finley. I'd prefer Kevin Martin if anyone...coming of injury, but still young enough to recover & give us some good years. If Iggy had better handles, I'd be all over it...he just requires a PG to get him good shots. We've been there done that.

well if you need a player to electrify the crowd with a big dunk or two then he will fit in perfectly.

shit actually we do

nobody on this team attacks the basket excpet JJ Barea and he is hot garbarge..I hope is a part of any deal made

the talk of the town is how the crowd at the AAC needs to get into it more

the city is bored with this team...no exciting players, and the same shit year after year...win 50+ games, go a round or two in the playoffs...no titles...it will be the same shit this year

50+ wins and a 2nd round exit...we might make the WCF if we can get the 2nd seed but honestly unless a trade is made I dont see it happening

The Celtics already have a player similar to J. Howard in Marquis Daniels. Daniels is injured right now but he is the only option to back up Rondo at this point. I like Heinrich but not at the expense of R. Allen. I think Allen is washed up but that doesnt mean you just throw him away. I would like for the C's to explore that Monta Ellis trade a little more. If Ellis comes to town you will have a dynamic duo for the next five years plus a legit shot at the title this year. The big question is whether or not Ellis can co exist with Rondo. That remains to be seen.
