NBA Trade Rumors

My Pistons need to do something and do it fast!!!!!!

man..i just cant believe how far we have fallen... Joe D better have some moves planned :angry:

Pistons at the bottom of the East and the Hawks a top team... armageddon is upon us...

Don't forget about Marcus Camby going to a contender. He's a free agent this summer, Blake's not coming back this year so their playoffs chances are dim.

San Antonio for Matt Bonner, Finley and some bench bum
Portland for Darius Miles contract.
Camby and Mark Madsen to Cleveland for Z.

Camby in Cleveland would be a big boost for the Cavs. His defense & rebounding would really help them plus he's no Ben Wallace on the offensive end either.

Neither can I.

Remember New Orleans is a Football town first. When we lost the Jazz in 1979 according to those who were around it was like water off a duck's ass. With the Saints in the Super Bowl, only hardcore basketball fans, Hornets fans and Chris Paul fans are paying attention right now the rest of New Orleans probably wont turn its attention to the Hornets till after daylight savings time comes back into effect, with out Chris Paul who's gonna watch and I'm pretty sure ownership knows this.

I'm not from N.O., but I will say Chris Paul and the Hornets are a safety backup plan for the fans. Like you said football is first.

What I don't understand is the Miami Heat. They are somewhat banking and have high hopes of Lebron possibly coming to the Heat. If I were them I wouldn't consider that right now. They have some valuable contracts teams want. Wizards are going to be having a fire sale soon so why not take Richardson's expiring contract and bring back Caron. Both contracts match. I still think their ultimate move would be for them to try and trade Jermaine O'Neal expiring contract for Baron Davis & Camby. These moves make Miami one of the top 3 in the East.

I think Pat Riley is hoping to get Bosh this summer. If not Bosh then Boozer as a backup.

I would think he would want to make a trade now, Jermaine O'Neal for Bosh, Amir Johnson and some bench bum but I think the Raptors would rather get a player back (Bynum or Gasol from the Lakers) than an expiring contract.

If they don't get a pf this summer, D-Wade is as good as gone.

I haven't heard this one and I can't see the Hornets making this move with Chris Paul's star power.

Ok..say the SPURS give up Tony Park, Mike Finely and say a 1st round pick?

This trade doesn't make any sense for the Hornets at all. Their not rebuilding and they are in the playoff hunt so I don't see how this trade benefits them.

Why would they make a trade to a team that they could face in the playoffs?

peace,

the only reasons I could think of is if they are

A. Over the cap and not wanting to pay the luxury tax, I read some where that if you are below the luxury tax your team gets 5 million (not sure if that is true)

B. Not sure how long Chris Paul has left on his rookie contract but maybe they are worried they won't resign him in the coming years

C. Maybe they would want an additional 1st pick for the draft class coming up this year

once again just theories

Chris Paul was already signed to a extension. He wouldve been apart of this years free agent class if the Hornets didn't sign. I cant see him leaving. GM needs to put in some work.

They're fucked as far as the salary cap goes next year, $73 million for a .500 team. I'm not sure why they traded Chandler for Okafor when Okafor just signed a six year extension. The good thing is for 2011 $30 million comes off the books so Paul is going to have to suffer with a mediocre team for this year and next.

The GM is on the bench

Stojakovic is taking up that cap. Hornets need to get rid of him

He was on that Davis and Wade shit in this thread also,

They both essentially have the same game and need the ball in their hands to be effective. Makes absolutely no sense to me.

NBA Trade Rumor: Andre Iguodala to the Cavs?

http://www.waitingfornextyear.com/?p=23656

With the NBA trade deadline one month away, the rumors continue to swirl. Latest Cavs-related bit to hit the wire comes from ESPN’s Marc Stein who attempts to link Cleveland to a possible deal with Philadelphia for Andre Iguodala.

On paper, Iquodala is just what the Cavaliers would need. AI2, not to be confused with his teammate Allen Iverson, averages 18 points, seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and just over one three-point field goal per game. He’s an amazing athlete that can throw down with the best of them. His career field goal percentage is 46.4 percent and he would fit in well in terms of perimeter defense – think Stephen Jackson with less propensity for in-game insanity and strip club gun fights. He’s great at getting to the line and converts at a fairly high rate.

But here is where we end the “pros” involved with Iguodala. To get those 18 points per contest, “Iggy” requires nearly 15 shots. His eFG% is .431 – .414 on jump shots. For comparison purposes, Washington’s Antawn Jamison’s eFG% is .535 with .448 beyond the 15-foot range. Oh, and Iguodala also has a little bit of baggage in the form of four years and $56.3 million left on his contract.

But as Stein says, the Cavaliers are looking for a big man – specifically Jamison and/or Indiana’s Troy Murphy. Iguodala could realistically see time at the power forward if needed, but the root of his game comes from the small forward position. Coincidentally, Cleveland already has a fairly decent small forward in LeBron James. Jamsion’s contract, in comparison to Iguodala’s, is for less money and fewer years – yet this is a hang-up in a potential acquisition. Granted, Iguodala is considerably younger and may be more Mike Brown’s style when it comes to the defensive side of the ball.

Of course, as with all trades, the flip side is what it would take to get any player in a deal. If Washington is requiring Zydrunas Ilgauskas, JJ Hickson and a draft pick, but Philadelphia only wants cap relief, this deal may raise a few eyebrows. Regardless, this is only one of the multiple rumors which the Cavaliers will find themselves as a possibility thanks to Dan Gilbert’s willingness to spend coupled with Cleveland’s desire for a title.

Dude atleast you have had some success this year. I hate to say I am a Nets Fan. I hope they try to do something. They do have a bunch of expiring contracts. I just hope they dont do something stupid like trade Devon, or Brooke. They need to keep them, and then sign some big name free agents this year. Or like I am hoping they get John Wall and move Harris to SG. But I know we will probably win 6 games all year, have 10000 ping pong balls, and get the number 7 pick.

goddamn the warriors are nuts. fuck trading monta for ray allen, thats horrible.

and fuck trading randolph to rent bosh. bosh isn't resigning with the clown show in oakland.

horrible.

Golden State has the worst management in the NBA. They've far surpassed everyone else for bad decisions. It's still mind boggling why Don Nelson still has a job there.

If I were the Cavs I would only make this trade if I only have to give up Z. Both Z and Hickson, two big men for a sf wouldn't work.

Z for AI2 would solve the problem the Cavs had last year with their midget backcourt of Williams and West.

I think it would really make them favorites, especially to come out of the east.

Josh Howard has a team option so he's basically a free agent.

Josh Howard & Drew Gooden for Chris Bosh.

Josh Howard for Carlos Boozer.

I will say this about Bosh, same shit I said about the Lakers it applies to the Mavs...you pair Bosh with Gasol or Dirk and thats a soft 4 and 5 position defensively

Fuck it, we stay popping up in Boozer talks...try it out Dirk+Boozer>>Okur+Boozer...buts its still the same shit

they're in a good place right now..

but still from what I heard, they dangling a draft pick at Houston for McGrady

The fuck is McGrady gonna do for us?

Fuck it give it a test run :dunno::hmm::lol:

Cuban content with milking Dirk wit these CACs

And thats about to come to an end

On 103.3 as well as 105.3 they were talking about how the crowd at the games have died off

The city is bored with this team, same shit every year

they gave nellie a big contract and cohan (owner) wants him to work for that money.

also, nellie has his lackey installed as GM and the only other guy with authority (rowell) is a business guy who doesn't know hoops.

it starts at the top, cohan is if not the worst owner in sports, has to be in the top 3....maybe al davis is worse since he won't even hire a GM

the best shit was when the all-star game was in oakland and cohan was announced and got booed

the knicks are rumored to be going after mcgrady, but for that trade to go through, the rockets want either jordan hill or wilson chandler...

Grizzlies

Lakers trade C Mihm to Grizzlies for future second-rounder
OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA (TICKER) —The Los Angeles Lakers unloaded center Chris Mihm on Wednesday, sending him to the Memphis Grizzlies for a conditional second-round pick in the 2013 draft.

A former seventh overall pick out of Texas in 2000, Mihm has been with the Lakers since 2004, serving as the team’s starter in the middle the following two seasons. He has endured injury troubles the last two years and has fallen back on the depth chart as Los Angeles has improved its frontcourt depth.

“The last two years have been difficult and frustrating for Chris in coming back from his ankle injury,” Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said. “But Chris has handled himself with true professionalism the entire time. With the depth of our roster, especially at the center position, Chris has not had the opportunity to play that he deserves.”

Mihm is averaging 2.0 points and 1.9 rebounds in 18 games while logging just six minutes per contest.

Memphis Reportedly Shopping Rudy Gay
Friday, January 22, 2010
Posted By Eric Freeman 3:00 PM
Yesterday, I wrote about the Grizzlies' pursuit of Ronnie Brewer and heralded the new, more serious era for the Grizzlies. Well, it turns out I was wrong -- apparently they're interested in Brewer as protection if Rudy Gay walks away as an unrestricted free agent this summer.

But that's not all. According to Chad Ford, Memphis is thinking about dealing Gay before the deadline:

One, Memphis is concerned that this summer a team flush with cap space will offer Gay (who will be a restricted free agent this summer) a huge contract that Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley will be unwilling to match. Two, the team, currently at 22-19, would love to make the playoffs and believes it's a veteran defensive presence away from getting there.

While a number of teams would be interested in Gay, a rising talent at age 23, keep your eye on the Pistons. They have been hunting for the right trade in which to move Tayshaun Prince. If Prince is healthy (he has been battling back and knee injuries all season), he might fit the bill for Memphis -- and the Pistons could throw in a lottery pick from this year's draft to sweeten the deal.

A veteran defensive presence would be nice for a team that currently starts Gay and O.J. Mayo on the wings, but Prince might not be the answer. As Ford mentions, Tayshaun's played in just nine games this year due to injury, and none since January 9. And even when he's been in the lineup, his stats haven't been terrific.

They'd be losing a lot by dealing Gay. He's second on the team in scoring with 20.5 ppg, just .3 behind Zach Randolph for the team lead. Perhaps players like Mayo and Marc Gasol could pick up some of the scoring load, but the Grizzlies have a good thing going now and shouldn't mess with it too much. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see a Gay-less Memphis beating out a number of other qualified teams for one of the West's final playoff spots.

It makes some sense to guard against losing one of your best players for nothing, and it's always good to get an extra lottery pick. Yet there's also something to be said for presenting your team as a legitimate option on the path of real progress. If Memphis trades Rudy Gay, they'd be putting that image in jeopardy.

Amare has recently expressed untreated in the Nets despite their record. The Net have the most most money in the off season and will likely get the number 1 draft pick.

Which if they draft Walls are expected to move Devin Harris.

Amare wants max money. Which no team may want to give him and the Nets will likely not end up with James and might go with Amare and Rudy Gay. Rudy wants 60 million for 5 years. The Nets are the only team that can do that and sign Amare to a max deal.

WALL
Lee
Gay
Amare
Lopez

Could be the Nets roster for 2010-11. One draw back if it doesn't work they over paid two players.
