And when asked to tone it down, instead of doing so, Shaq turned it up and essentially dared him to do something about it. More importantly, it was fucking with his reputation and bread. So he checked it the way he did. Now if you cool with letting someone shit on your name and rep without being checked then thats your right. But understand, a lie left unchecked becomes the truth. And if that lie is damaging your good name then it needs to be addressed.

Shaq did damage Javale’s name. I don’t think it was on purpose and it started in good fun, but the way he said his name had a ring to it and it was catchy so he ran with it.
It started off joking with Javale and then Javale turned into the joke. The only thing he was known for was fucking up and making dumb plays because that’s the only highlights that were being shown.
Naturally Javale didn’t like it so he spoke up, what happened after that is on them.
