I'm not thinking about Kyrie's feelings or concerns. Let's take the protests out of it for a moment. And yes, money is a big concern. But no one's talking about the real overriding issue - why is the NBA trying to get players to come to Florida, which has a high rate of COVID-19 cases (with more cases every day), in the middle of a pandemic, and stay for a few weeks? Yes, the league is taking precautions, but their methods aren't foolproof. This is the thing that everyone should be talking about.

I understand when they thought about doing this the numbers were down. All of us non-experts Kinda figured the numbers would climb but we didn’t know there would be police killings that change everything.
At the point I don’t even care if sports come back this year.
A couple weeks back I kinda chalked it up in my mind. There was one expert who felt the fall of 2021 would be the time, when large gather/event would be safe.
I sat back a thought about it, thought about the numbers who passed, I kinda agree. So that was went I chalked up the ideas and didn’t care.The only problem is all the people who make a living from these event. When your safely/health is compromised, it’s tough.
Florida's number never really dropped because the governor was caught lying about it around the middle of April or end of the month .That kinda got swept under the rug..And,the NBA still wants to go there....lol
I don't understand,why a league would still go to a state that blatantly lies about their cases in a pandemic...Going to California made more sense than going to Florida.

You're correct that it is not about the anthem.
But there's a reason why Kaepernick chose the anthem as his moment of protest. There is no reason for that "patriotic" statist propaganda to be forced on us at the start of every basketball game.
It can't be the main thing but it would be worthwhile. And if the alternative is kneeling and protest, the league might actually do it.

Football season hasnt started yet either. They getting those numbers just from playing going back to campus or guys trying to do voluntary workouts. All these guys were supposed to do social distancing too and they wont be staying in a bubble, they will be free to go wherever whenever.
