I don't think anybody on here believes that they are about to shut the inquiry down. The issue is that the Democrats are terrible at politics. Why hold a press conference to announce that you are not going to do the one thing that would energize your base? Why hold a press conference to give the Republicans more talking points? More people support removing Trump right now than they did Nixon at similar point and yet the headlines tomorrow will be "Democrats decide against holding impeachment vote". Look at how quickly public opinion changed once the inquiry was announced (51 percent of voters want Trump to be impeached and removed from office). This is really bad politics...

Why rush to a vote in the house? The Republican senate will never vote to remove Trump until they know he is done. You have different departments of the government refusing to turn over their goverment owned documents. What are they afraid of in those documents?

The Democrats are playing the long game. They won 5 court cases Friday against Trump and more case wins are coming. Each week, more people are coming foward with illegal activity from the Trump administration.

Republicans are trying to force the Dems to call for an official Impeachment vote in the House to legitimize what they are concurrently conducting which is an "Impeachment Inquiry". It is simply a delaying ploy by the GOP to enable it to continue refusing to cooperate with the inquiry by not turning over documents and not allowing Administration employees to testify before Congress.

Pelosi is saying the Constitution does not require a House vote to hold an Impeachment Inquiry and she's not going to cave to GOP demands that she do so .
