Music Debate: Lord Jamar talks white rappers & WHY Action Bronson is BAD for Ghostface's legacy

peace

Not just to be confrontational, but what does it matter what "THEY" think about the culture of hip-hop. I control me and mines, and you yours, and so on....I AM HIP-HOP, and any body that knows ME knows about my music tastes. I try my best to explain MY hip-hop to anyone who will listen. But at the end of the day, people are going to do them, and if some artist is wack, but gets shine, what can be done? I have a ton of hip-hop/rap that the average black male hasn't heard, let alone white people, and its GOOD music. But is that music invalidated because of the lack of exposure? Jamar's opinion is widely supported by hip-hop purists, but as with anything culture related, it will be abused, stolen, distorted, and recycled to death. As black people, we just have to keep creating, and let that creativity be OUR thing.

:itsawrap:
End of discussion as was just having the same one with a kat I know & am slowing my computer up trying to load up a zipdrive of his with music he's never heard of.
Hipster, dipster, simple mofuckas & the like are gonna do what they do & just like Cam said in the interview, certain chicks & folks aren't up for Pure Hip Hop no matter how 'pure' so to speak it is.
I understand about the legacy not being properly recognized by the short scoped newer rap fan but this rap shit, not hip hop per se when it comes to the music has taken off to greater levels via the interwebs; more mediocrity is appreciated & the hustle doesn't stop :dunno:
I like Action Bronson. Fuck all this stupid talk. Dude can rap. Period. Don't care what color he is.
I fucks with Bronson

Lord Jamar talking some other shit

If anything Bronson should be a testimont to NY rap and a legend like ghost face influence on Bronson

Icons after 20 yrs know how they influence the entire game & world;
now if this was 94/5 or whatever, THAT would be a different story I could imagine.
Universal longevity is the key.

Albanian nigga's funny as fuck & does his thing

Action raps like Ghost and makes songs that sound like Ghost's style. Every time I hear Action I only wish it was Ghost instead because Ghost is way better.

Shyne stole Big's cadence when her first came out but he didn't steal his style. Angelous stole Jay-z's cadence and style but of course is nowhere as lyrical. Action stole Ghosts old cadence. Ghosts cadence changed as he got older. I'm listening Rare Chandeliers and it sounds like Action also stole Ghosts style but is more laid back. I just hear a bootleg Ghost when he raps.

I bet Vlad was lowkey hot listening to Lord Jamar talk about this shit.

Action Bronson is cool though.

Bronson would fight Jamar because the truth hurt his feelings? How about Bronson tell Ghost face to face how much money he has made off of Ghost's style?

You tell me since they got songs together on mixtapes action Bronson is an underground rapper who rolls with mayhem lauren straight from queens these dudes spit better then a lot of that mainstream garbage you hear on the radio, their voice sounds the same not their lyrics look i agree with somethings Lord Jamar says but there are some stuff i do disagree with, on the comment i made about throwing him through a car was nonsense it was me just hyping up shit I'm sure Action Bronson could careless what Lord Jamar has to say about him. If ghost had a problem with Bronson and his style ghost would have handled it asap, isn't that what he said on the b-side of only built for the cuban-links LP

eminem is the only white rapper i fuck with. i dont pay the other no mind. let white people support them. they wont get a dollar out of me

i heard the vlad "stuff" these guys don't get it. jamar was talking about culture and the other guys were talking about music. i say it time and time again, this is what happens when you don't control your culture. one group don't know and another group doesn't know or care! :(:(

Completely not understanding the hate about what Lord Jamar is saying. His comments have NOTHING to do with his own personal skill, nor is what he's saying disrespectful to white rappers and worthy of fisticuffs. Lord Jamar just had 11 minutes of real talk. On top of that, he never dissed white rappers.

On this thing about Bronson...yeah, he's a fantastic soundalike. He stays in his lane, doesn't make a ton of noise about whatever. It's all good. Mad respectful and shows mad love for Ghost. Never claims to be the greatest of all time (like the accolades showered upon Em) - which I've always hated.

Not going to start a long conversation about our own culpability on the current state of hip-hop. Just saying that regardless of Jamar's capability on Brand Nubian, the dude is speaking real talk which is based on his opinion and is opening the debate for people to discuss in a sensible way. Even his views on the gay agenda and societal 'evolution' are sound and worthy of extended discussion.

Frankly, I'm actually ANGRIER at the fact that white boys like Vlad have not only infiltrated hip hop, but now they're THE mouthpieces that get to interview and curate who's who and what's what? Shit is infuriating.

damn...

can't argue ONE single solitary point made here.

great response.

I fuck with Action Bronson, I don't consider him a culture vulture at all.

he respects the art and he can rap his ass off.

And if Ghostface respects what he do enough to jump on songs with him, then whats the issue?

Only similarity they have is in voice.

I with him a some of his views but alot of times he just seems bitter.

Did he feel this way about 3rd Bass? Eminem? Beastie Boys?
^^^^^ The Symbol

I don't feel like he is hating and if you know the history of Brand Nubian he isnt saying NOTHING he hast said in he past.

They were STRONGLY about preserving Black culture...

how can we be inferior if we are emulated so much...?

cacs have the money and power and their children have to be forced to emulate them...

and yet still they keep their eyes and minds on us....

you dont flatter what you find inferior,

and emulation is flattery!!!

Bronson has said himself that he has never done a song with Ghost and that people had verses from both and just spliced that shit together.

As far as Ghost handling shit. OB4CL is 20 years old and Ghost is probably in his 40s... He isn't still running down on niggas because he is too busy trying to keep the wheels on a 20+ year career and holding the doors open so a lot of Wu Tang niggas can still eat.
