Music Debate: Jim Jones RESPONDS to Nas comparison | Fat Joe & Jadakiss

Jim jones is starting to a category of "Special" rappers. Mofos that will do it say anything for clout. Dude got talent, but trying to compare himself to Nas. Is a joke.

I think after the Dipset Verzus with The Lox. He received a moment of charity. Of what real talent and longevity is, they had few good songs. But the lox has a way better catalog, individually and as a group. Dipset doesn't have that, maybe a lot more Street shit going on, but musically. The Lox is unmatched compared to them.
He doesn't have talent.

Big Queens

Marc is a piece of shit

Ballin was stack bundles demo record that he gave to Jim

I always heard (if I'm remembering correctly) that Max B wrote Ballin for Jim.

Is this a case where the track was Stacks and then Jim had Max write or were Stack and Max writers?

The one thing many missed when Cam really spoke on Jim was how many talented people Jim has had around him that have ended up in jail or in the ground when he was in a position to uplift them but instead has appeared to use them for their talent without really giving them whats owed.

If the god says it? It's gospel.

Say less fam.

You told me the Ballin story years back.

I always gave Marc the side eye But now you confirmed. If you want to get deeper feel free. But we got the message.

Nah that was all stack

He played that demo tape every single day

I can still hear stack on the adlibs and chorus

Compare Nas to anyone else, compare Nas latest work.

It's the same blind love that y'all have for certain artist off of shit they did in the beginning of their career, which was a lot of great shit, some of it the building blocks of rap but WE'RE TALKING 2025 NOT 1998 and if you're lucky to still be dropping music together remember your still going to get judged on what you've done lately.

It's in the same boat as motherfuckers running around claiming andre 3000 being the best rapper and the motherfucker is around here fluting it up but he's the best?

Nas is doing big business making millions,I don't give a fuck,we talking about hip-hop,rap music not no fucking corporate deals that's why some no name without a dollar in their pocket can record one song that'll smoke the socks off of Nas.

Jim Jones Snaps When Asked If Max B Co-Wrote “We Fly High (Ballin’)”

Jim Jones scored his first (and only) Billboard Hot 100 hit with with 2006's "We Fly High (Ballin')." While many regard the career-defining record as one of the best in the former Diplomat's catalog, he despises it. In fact, Jim can't stand the song.

“I actually hate the song. The record makes me cringe,” Jim Jones said during a recent interview in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Hustler's P.O.M.E -- the album that includes "We Fly High (Ballin')" and earned him a top 10 spot on the Billboard 200.
“But it’s actually a love-hate relationship I have with it," he continued. "I know that record has set me apart from where I was when it came to me being in this game and me being on a different level of success, and putting me in a different room with people to do business with. But on the flip side, 10 years later, that song has burned a hole in my brain that’s so disgusting it makes me cringe every time I hear it."

During the sit-down, Jim was also asked about Max B's contributions to "We Fly High (Ballin')." He ultimately claims that the Wave God had no part in making the song.

"Why would you even ask me that? Max B never wrote one ounce of my music, nor has Stack Bundles, nor has Cam, nor has anybody in my whole life,” Jim scoffed. “You can’t allude to what you hear out there if you don’t know it for sure. Nobody writes my music at all. If you really want to know, I have ghostwritten a lot of music for a lot of other people [chuckles]. Including the name you just said. If you really want to get technical. But that’s neither here nor there."

He also added that there are no relations between himself and Max B.

Months ago, it was revealed that Max B would be coming home from prison early. According to French Montana, he even has a studio in the new jail cell he was just transferred to.

Son is a repeat offender

He did sucka shit in Ferguson and ran when he got called out on it

He plays aloof and naive when called out on his sucka shit

He used a couple of great friends I know for their boots on the ground movement then abandoned their cause when he got what he wanted

He will do anything to be accepted

He’s a poverty pimp

You sure?

Ballin was huge.
According to Google ai
Based on chart performance and mainstream cultural impact, "Oh Boy" may be considered the "bigger" song. It held the #1 spot on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart for a longer period, peaked higher on the Billboard Hot 100, and received a Grammy nomination

Chart Performance:

  • "Oh Boy": Released in 2002, "Oh Boy" achieved considerable chart success. It held the #1 spot on both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and Hot Rap Tracks charts for five weeks. It peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a Grammy nomination.
  • "Balling" (We Fly High): Released in 2006, "Balling," also known as "We Fly High," peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also reached #1 on the Hot Rap Tracks and was certified Platinum by the RIAA.

The only thing is I can't seem to find the sales for Oh Boy to compare.

Ballin not bigger than Oh Boy
You sure?

Ballin was huge.

The reason I can understand Ballin being considered "bigger"?

It COMPLETELY changed the trajectory of Jim Jones career remember it came out around the time Dip Set was beefing with Jay so its impact with huge.

Oh Boy just solidified what the massive train we already so coming.

In addition to that it was the anthem for the Giants in a year where they won the Superbowl.

Also, Ballin came out at a time when there seemed to be far fewer smash Hip Hop records (at least that's how it seemed to me) and therefore would have had less competition as opposed to Oh Boy which was released when Jay, Nelly, Em, etc. were dropping major hits and Hip Hop was dominating.

Yes. Let's talk music.
Musically anything Nas did is better than anything JJ did.

U dummies think people know JJ or Nas in Japan/Austrailia?
No one knows Jim Jones.

Everybody was singing Ballin, everybody wasn’t singing Oh Boy.

Hmmmm.... Let's not do that.

that's why I hate these debates there is no way to measure that. We gonna go check radio plays? Soundscan? Billboard?

Those were BOTH huge records.

Dip Set sold perfume and cologne off that record.

That song played EVERYWHERE on repeat and that video was in HEAVY rotation.

Sidebar: Funny thing I never liked that Ballin record much... and wished someone took the shades sample in the front and made a full record.

But it was an Anthem. Period.

But the girls LOVED that oh boy record. And BOUGHT IT. And it was catchy as f**k.

There is no real BIGGER. They were both just another huge dip set family hit.

Sorry we can do that in this instance. Ballin was everywhere, Oh Boy wasn’t

We can all agree to that, and I liked Oh Boy.
