Music Debate: Jim Jones RESPONDS to Nas comparison | Fat Joe & Jadakiss

I think that's why I hate his answer

There is no real debate or discussion about that.

Nas doesn't WANT OR NEED attention from the kids for his music

WE need to support our legends.

But Nas latest work with hit boy wasn't JUST for old heads though. He had some solid singles and won a Grammy.

Jim should be flattered the young one recognizes him like that.

But that doesn't really impress me or his recent sales and streaming numbers since he wants to go there.
Exactly!

Jim has said some crazy shit before but this is the most ridiculous shit this nucca has ever said because it's not based on any facts at all, he's fucking delusional. Illmatic alone will destroy any thing Jim has ever done. Any song on Illmatic is better than anything things he's ever put out lol.

I feel like you're going too hard in the paint. Live at the BBQ is better than anything that has ever come out of Harlem. Its Kobe and Smush Parker.

I'm glad Jimmy is talking his shit because motherfuckers is fronting on him and what he brings to the table as far as the music goes.Hes the last of the dips, the last of that 2000 era and he's gotten better in packaging up what he has for sale and presenting it to his fans.

Nas is a legend but it's hit or miss with him and has been for most of his career but what he does have is a solid body of work that can't be matched but he's no king of NYC,he barely survived that battle with Jay and some of his best work is his collaboration with others.

Jimmy can't win this one but he's no slouch and for a hypeman to still be waving the flag around in 2025 says a lot.
way off.
hit or miss beats has nothing to do with lyricism
he bodied jay.
his last 3 albums are better than anything Jim has ever done.

The single reached number 53 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, while it also peaked in the top 20 on the Hot R&B Singles chart.

In total, the single reached the top ten in eight countries.

It received a nominated for Best Rap Solo Performance at the 39th Annual Grammy Awards.

Various publications have referred to it as one of the greatest rap songs of all time.

In June 2021, "If I Ruled the World" was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, becoming Nas' first single to achieve this.

Highest Charting Single:
  • "I Can": This is Nas's most successful single on the Billboard Hot 100 as a lead artist, charting at number 12 in 2003. It also reached number 7 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart and number 6 on the Hot Rap Tracks chart.

I agree with Marc... Trolling or not?

It's harmful to the overall culture.

Plus Why are we listening to a random alleged 23 year on social media?

And Jim is comfortable being regarded as a clown not to be taken seriously, a clout chasing attention whore?

Can't he make a record to get attention?
Jim has made one record that got him attention so no he can’t! And hip hop has always had a young audience and element to it; so I’m not surprised by that…

I agree with all that and it's nice Jimmy can still be the old man in the club

But some random kid saying he likes Him more than Nas shouldn't spark a serious or even frivolous discussion.

WTF are we doing

No other music genre would do this.

And it diminishes every one involved

We really gotta get the attention whoring under control

Jim lost his fucking mind But it ain't the first, and won't be the last. And it wouldn't be honest to say had contributed a decent bit during that period. But as that young man described what Jim meant to him, and what he brought to the game is peak of his contribution. He keeps fucking up comparing anything he's done to Nas.

Ballin was stack bundles demo record that he gave to Jim

Jim jones is starting to a category of "Special" rappers. Mofos that will do it say anything for clout. Dude got talent, but trying to compare himself to Nas. Is a joke.

I think after the Dipset Verzus with The Lox. He received a moment of charity. Of what real talent and longevity is, they had few good songs. But the lox has a way better catalog, individually and as a group. Dipset doesn't have that, maybe a lot more Street shit going on, but musically. The Lox is unmatched compared to them.

It’s only sparked a debate amongst people who don’t know and people who want to capitalize on people who don’t know; but that’s the world we live in…
