Second the quickest way to loose that weight is to do about 15 - 20min of running for 5 conecutive days and NOT eat foods high in fat.

No pain.. no gain...

I CAN DO THE WALKS WITH THE BABY IN THE STROLLER. GOOD IDEA

I'LL WORK ON THAT PIC

THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENTS

Girl I spent 20 years in the Marine whipping people (my troops) into shape...I would run the hell out of their asses and then make them hit the gym, however for those that needed that special attention, I would start them out walking and then it progressed into running. There are a lot of good ideas passed on to you, but if youre serious about loosing the weight and then some invest in some good walking and running shoes.... other than the shoes, it's free and healthier for you.....stay away from those fat burning pills :smh:

Most people hate physical activities (running, jog) beacuse they don't know how to control their breathing....walking helps with that big time.

PUSH UPS I CAN'T DO. NOT EVEN ONE. I DON;'T KNOW HOW TO SWIM. AFTER 10 PM WITH NO EATING, I CAN TRY.

BUT I GOTTA WAIT A WHOLE MONTH?!

You can also get in the shallow end of the pool and run laps. The resistance of the water will help you tone up and make you run faster. (plus the water is easier on the joints) My cousin used to do that for track practice and it help him save some tenths of a second off his time.

first of all,
the first thing u need to do to accomplish your goals is,
STOP MAKING EXCUSES, AND TELLING YOURSELF WHAT URE NOT GOING TO DO.
losing weight is simple,
the hard part is staying disciplined,
and committing yourself to doing what u naturally dont want to do.
if u gotta eat veggies,
then eat em, and stop telling yourself u wont.
if u gotta get out and walk,
then do it and stop complaining about the heat.
(besides, when its hot, u sweat.
when u sweat, U LOSE WEIGHT.)
all that "i cant run, i cant do push-ups, yoga and pilates is a fad, i wont eat veggies" etc.
is the attitude of a failure.
u have to commit mentally b4 u can even think about physically losing any weight.
even if u lose your 5 lbs,
you'll be doing nothing more than losing 5 lbs of water retention,
which can be gained back twicefold in DAYS.
NONE of what these cats suggested will work,
until u lose that lazy attitude.
and if u dont,
u WILL be one of these obese chicks out here with 5 kids and 3 stomachs,
and will know the true meaning of the phrase "your looks wont last forever".

Eat breakfast....

food is feul ...by eating a healthy breakfast you are 'gassing' up your body for the day and starting the 'fat' burning process.

Example. Most ppl skip breakfast, 'cept for like Coffee or High fat pastries. Wait til lunch scarf down more food high in fat and put their bodies into 'fat-burning ' mode by mid-day or early afternoon. Then in just a few short hours they have a big dinner and go to bed. Once you lay down , you put your body into "fat-storing' mode.

What most ppl should do is get 'feul' into their systems early which gives you the energy you need to start accomplishing the days tasks. Eat a sensible lunch and dinner.

Stay active. Move around. And rest also.

With the new baby , I know sleep may be an issue, try to get as much as possible.

You can assist in controling your metabolism.

Don't forget to give yourself 'binge' days...or you'll end up taking them anyway.

Just some practical advice.Good Luck.

GREAT ADVICE. THANKS FAM

aye montana congrats on the baby gal , word of advice , mental strength , that 5 pounds is nothing to lose if u r determined to lose .

careful with the carbohydrates , your body is going to store any excess that u take , so moniter your intake . go crazy on the protein , your baby needs it , and any excess the body gets rid, the human body does not store excess proteins .

forget abt doing full situps , try doing 5 half seat ups with your knees up instead of flat . repeat after 2 hrs but increase the number by 1.

get a medicinal ball , on your knees roll the ball as far as you can with your hands , and then roll it back towards you . try variations either seating or kneeling .

and like i said will power is all it takes , i m walking after being in traction for 6 months after a car accident , so losing weight shld be nothing compared to learning how to use your legs again

Stick with the natural hair Montana. Fat burner supplements while you are still breastfeeding :smh: , and new mothers are usually advised to wait a few weeks (5-6 ) before strenous activities to avoid a potential prolapse. Walking and post-natal yoga would be great for now.

Good luck.

you came to the right source

BGOL

1. Someone posted a link to t he pdf of "feed the muscle, Burn the fat"

find it, download it, read it, live by it.

2. Someone telling you what to do is good, but it sometimes means more or makes more sense when you put the plan together yourself.. soo with that said.

3. read the above recomendation but also pick up (i've constantly suggested this book and still skim through it myself cause it simplifies a healthy lifestyle) "Body For Life" originaly by Bill Phillips, i believe he sold the company so it might not say bill phillips anymore.

great book. basic routines for the fat person, the chubby person, the skinny person, the moderately fit person and yes women who just gave birth. might seem like a time killer to more experienced fitness folk. when it comes to workouts it sticks to the high rep and high sets approach. so lets say you start with 20lbs dumbbells at 15 reps, then 25lbs at 10 reps etc etc etc.

4. another book to get (dont worry, its a fitness book, so the reading is simple and quick) is sylvester stallone's book, sly moves, more advanced than body for life but its assuming your above the standard novice. the book seems to stray a bit and talk about his life working out for movies. but actually thats inspiration if you remember what stallone looked like for the rambo, rocky and even copland movies. another good part of the book is that it does a better job of giving routines for men and women seperately.

5. while BGOL is the shit. i'm not a woman so your best refference would be bodybuilding.com find the womens section etc you will get responses quickly. be sure to add your age, weight, goal and available time to excercise.

6. after reading feed the muscle, burn the fat, take some of their recommended foods and go to foodnetwork.com

i usually get alot of my meal plans from them, mainly sauces and seasoning as most healthy food tastes bland so you have to be creative when it comes to taste.

7. get the wii like someone recommended. i work out regularly. i'm not a huge cut body builder but i'm fit. and like most posters on here, we all sit too many times in front of the computer. the wii keeps me standing. the wii for me in a few days has become a way to burn maybe 20+ calories while playing. it aint much, but if you take into consideration taht in that half hour of play time, i would be sitting here, smoking, drinking and snacking (i said i workout and eat as healthy as i can, never said i live by this fitness lifestyle)

for its price its worth it, look up my post about the wii health website. other people have reported weight loss and leanness from the wii from committing to half an hour minimum a day as well as adding wrist weight bands.

8. good luck and if anyone else on here asks for a quick guide recommend the above books and pdf. they are like my bibles and i constantly reffer to them when putting together new workouts or eating plans.

look for the post and check the links you will be surprised.

I'm not gonna sit here and front like I know a damn thing about losing weight. But what I WILL say is that you look damn sexy...5 xtra lbs, short hair and all. Like most of the other brothas on the board, I think you look 100x's better with the short, natural style than the quick weave. The short cut gives you a more distinct look....your facial structure and skin tone stand out a lot more.

As for the weight, I know that every woman is trying to get to that sweet spot as far as their weight goes. I will go out on a limb though and suggest that you keep the weight on and just tone your stomach up some. Flatten it just a bit and give it a little definition. I happen to think that you look damn sexy in the vid you posted WITH the weight. Makes you look like one of those down-south Georgia girls, lol!!! Again, i know you really want to lose it, but that's just the way that I see it.

Oh yeah...I'm requesting a personal pic as well....( a brotha can ask right? you're either gonna say yes or no...)

;)

I've lost 85 pounds in less than a year. What I basically did was run, Tae Bo boot camp DVDs, used 5-lb free weights and resistant bands. I worked out 6-7 days a week for 1 hr to 1 hr and a half (depending on how I felt). My ipod shuffle was my best friend! It got me through some workouts! I suggest you get a Mp3 player if you don't already have one in your possession.

Now I work out 4-5 days a week for 45 minutes to an hour (to maintain).

What I eat is fruits, veggies, salads, chicken, protein bars, turkey and ham. I rarely eat red meat any more. I do have one "cheat" day a week (usually Friday or Saturday) where I eat pancakes or Rally's or whatever I want. I also smash on some Cold Stone Creamery ice cream EVERY cheat day.

I still drink regular soda (diet is nasty as all hell), I just drink maybe one can with dinner instead of 6-8 cans I used to before I got healthy. I usually drink ice cold water and crystal light throughout the day.

I don't have kids (and Christ, I don't want any for 10-15 years!) but I heard that breast feeding helps you lose weight from your stomach area.

Losing weight isn't easy, nothing in life is. But with effort, you'll lose your baby weight. Good luck!

wtf at only 5lbs?
i think u a little more than 5 lbs over weight....even after the, what i like to call "baby left overs" are gone from inside u.
u should have raised u shirt up and showed ur stomach
for stretch marks i reccomend shea butter of course
even though u keep having babies..stretch marks dont last forever.
they soon blend in..and then u cant see anything...shea butter speeds the healing.
i know from my previous weight gains and loses

for weight lose...do aroebics
stationary bike is the best aroebic exercise 2 me..simple and straight to the point.
also eat less
and dont eat alot of simple carbs
yeah its about what u eat..but alot of times it about how much u eat

aslo get a swiss ball and go to this site
http://www.bestabs.com/Resources/

ive doen a few of these exercises and my shit was firming up in a little over a week
gotta be persistent

AND I GOT NO "NEW" STRETCH MARKS. JUST THE ONES FROM PREVIOUS PREGNANCIES THAT I'VE ALWAYS HAD AND YEA THEY DO FADE OVER TIME

I CAN'T FIND THE BURN THE FAT POST AT ALL

it's there

i just dont feel like searching for it.. if you still cant find the feed the muscle, burn the fat, PM me and i'll repost it as i've had it for a few years.

pull out that body for life.. that book would have answered your questions before you even thought to post it here.. the beginning of the book is all about get up off your lazy ass

a few years ago i got up to 220lbs, i was like :smh: my friend was a body builder, not proffesionally but that was his vice and he gave me some equipment and advice...

here is the thing with advice.. he said do this, eat that, go here, drink that..

yeah ok i said, i'll try.. but for him it was a way of life for over 30 years for me it was a fuck... i'm 220lbs and 26% body fat percentage, if its that simple i wouldnt have got there..

after his advice, with a grain of salt, body for life, and an investment in a cardio machine, weights and a bench and/or gym membership it happened, but wait, that wont do it.. not really.. eating right is really the ultimate key.. but it has to be a balance

a dude from the street could work out 8 hours a day and put on muscle but be unhealthy. another dude can eat right but have no muscle and be as weak as a runway model..

it has to be both

once i realized that it had to be both i went from 220lbs to 190lbs, currently 184lbs and from 26% BFP to 16%

the body fat percentage is what you want to watch not the weight.. ppl think they are failing from not loosing actual weight but they forget that when you put on muscle it can come in the form or new mass/weight gain or just replace fat with muscle so 5 lbs of fat can become 5lbs of muscle

no weight loss but 5lbs make a difference

I said "in a year" not "this year" or "from the photos I have posted..." I have maintained my current weight for a while now. Those photos are my "results." Not rail thin and never will be. Never has been a goal of mine to fit into a size 2 and never will be.
