I don't disagree entirely, but keep in mind the one person fired upon and killed by a guard was a cac female trying to break into the House chamber. I don't think it was so much a matter of skin color but more the fact guards were surprised, ill trained, and not given the order to turn them back even if they had to discharge their weapons. I think if the Capitol came under armed attack again it would again be by mostly white people who'd get a violent reception they didn't expect.

Based on the weapons and pipe bombs found it's very clear that the January 6th insurrection could have been a MUCH more serious event. I suspect that the Feds paid a visit to certain individuals and "encouraged" them not to show up. Probably saved a lot of lives and our semblance of democracy in the process.
The FBI has already said that domestic white supremist terrorists were the biggest existential threat to the United States long before January 6th. Long before Trump got elected even. These are the same kinds of people that tried to kidnap the government of Michigan for making them put a piece of fabric over their mouth.
