Michelle Alexander checking Black Clinton supporters

So every single person who struck out was violent? Can I see a source for this???
And its obviously you and @THREAD_CRITIC never picked up her book and saw all the research she put into this topic. :smh:
No. They weren't all violent. But MY point is don't sit here and act like SOME of those locked up don't deserve to be where they are because of the color of there skin. Plain and simple. I'm not fortunate for being a black male and never getting locked up. Choices of some have something to do with it. COME ON MAN DAMN!!! I'm starting to think a few of ya'll are just trolling here so I can post more bitches. My point is not that hard to comprehend.

In a sense you are. Your blaming the system why multiple time felons are in jail as opposed to the decisions they made. Simple as that. It's not due to luck that I'm not a felon bruh. It's due to the choices I made with my life.

YO8PZ7.jpg

In a sense?

Again where nigga?

When a law is unconstitutional that means people have been unjustly imprisonsed.

If you think that's blaming the system then argue that with the Supreme Court.

You don't have to be guilty to be convicted and incarcerated.

That's all imma say the matter.

Okay now its some? You were arguing like we said everyone was innocently locked away.

Never said that. My point was let's not sit here and act like some of them muthafuckas aren't where they need to be. That's been my whole point.

Then your argument was pointless because no one was defending the whole lot.We were just saying too many people were getting caught up for trivial things and its a serious problem when a disproportionate amount of Black people are caught up.

It's fun to just type stuff you think is the case

On June 26, the United States Supreme Court ruled the federal Three-Strikes Law unconstitutional. In Johnson vs. United States, the Supreme Court held that the government violated Johnson’s due process by imposing an increased sentence under the Armed Career Criminal Act’s residual clause that was unconstitutionally vague, standard-less, and only enforceable arbitrarily.

The ruling elaborated that two elements constitute the vagueness of the law: 1) by assessing risk of a case using fictitious crime rather than using real-world statistics, and 2) ambiguity regarding the amount of risk necessary to qualify a crime as a violent felony. In other words, assessment of risk of future violent crime by an individual is unpredictable and uncertain, and has not historically been applied consistently.

I'm sure there were a few cases of fuckery as there always is....but I'm also sure the vest majority of people put away for 3 strikes did some real dumb shit not once not twice but three fuckin times....

If you are a person of color and like the way things are now which will continue for your kids then vote for the usual candidates.

On the other hand if you feel the opposite then make the establishments rebuke voters. As with some medicines things have to get worse before they get better. I hope these elections blow things up.

Nah. Not trying to hear that bullshit. If were talking 3 time felons you not getting caught up for trivial things. Stop that.

They need to put down no vote, or neither candidate on the ballot. They either have serious character issues or incompetent. Glad I won't be in the states by the time they take office.

So your cool with letting republicans win and the ACA being washed away? So ANY gains we had (as small as they are) is a wash? 8 years down the tube because "things have to get worse before they get better" as you say?

Cats like that live in some fantasy world never considering that these things have real world lasting effects and it takes a lot more effort to undo, the damage than to cause it. Plus, real lives suffer, and things don't necessarily get better. We are at a time when the harm that can be done will never be repaired.

They aren't considering that elections DO matter, the last one got us the ACA and the prior got us endless years of war and now unfettered world wide terrorism. They've yet to answer me on the ACA...

We just covered Ewing v. California (2003) in my Criminal Law class 3 weeks ago. He was given 25 years for stealing golf clubs under their 3 Strikes statute. He appealed, and the SCOTUS ruled that his sentence was just. They honed in on the fact that he wasn't given that sentence just for stealing golf clubs, which he argued, but for his life of crime (9 felonies) overall, and that the sentence was not disproportionate to normal punishment for his last crime, being that it was a plurality sentence. They also stated that the state of California was entitled to place the onus on Ewing as one who has proven that he can't adjust his behavior to fit within social norms. Two (Scalia and Thomas) of them argued that even though the 8th Amendment protects against cruel and unusual punishment, it has no proportionality principle concerning plurality, and therefore does not violate his 8th Amendment rights. Ginsburg, Souter, and Breyer dissented.

not to mention NAFTA signed by bill. we were disproportionately hurt when the low to moderate skilled, high wage jobs went overseas, not to mention it helped destroy labor unions for those of us that had good jobs.

We were warned, but we decided to make Ross Perot a joke, instead of listening to what he was saying.

Well, 20 years from now people will be talking about the TPP, but you can't tell people shit now. Hillary doesn't have a problem with the TPP either.

Of course, Bernie doesn't like the TPP. But Hillary? She's on some shit as usual.

yeah thats pretty fucked up. i wonder why they sided with the white supremacist in 2015.

true. what i recall was that perot went to the naacp and, in an anti NAFTA speech, inadvertently referred to black folks as 'you people' as in 'NAFTA will hurt you people the most.' after that, black folks weren't hearing anything he had to say, even though he was right. there was even an episode of 'roc' when the grandpa was trying to convince the family to listen to perot. it fell on deaf ears, just like in real life.

I posted that, because in cases where they're making the same argument, the Court usually go with stare decisis, in other words, let the previous ruling stand. Reading what you posted kinda surprised me. I wonder what one of our legal eagles think.

The law was found to be too controversial for a reason. If you're still not going to provide some facts to back your claim then your argument is invalid. Bill Clintons own words less than a year ago contradict everything you have said.If nothing was wrong with the law he wouldn't have gave a fake apology to Black people.
Like I said earlier read her book and see how such draconian laws can be abused against Black people.
I'm sure people thought the war on drugs and stop and frisk were good ideas until they saw those laws were a reason to target Black people.
