Mayweather fight!! Post links and discussion here!!!!

Maidana did not win. The 117-111scorecard was a bad score though. I had Floyd win 7-5, however, I could see how a judge (depending on angle) could have scored it a draw as seen last night. Close fight but Floyd was a clear winner. Would like to see a rematch.

Figures you'd be a fan of a nigga with a flawless record.

This nigga is probably a dream come true for you, huh?

If you dick-ride Lebron the way you do, I don't even want to imagine what kind of faggotrous feelings you must feel for Mayweather.

Does anyone think Maidana won the fight? Again, if Maidana fails the post fight
drug test, Robert Garcia's match box head needs to be banned from boxing.

The people are celebrating fighting a close fight, but no one can say Maidana
won...

People are saying that Maidana won. But, they're only doing that so they can say Floyd lost. No one actually believes he won. Anything that remotely resembled him winning a round past the 6th will be much clearer in a re-watch. I haven't seen so much missing in recent years. Honestly, I expected better of him. He came in with the same strategy to crowd and overwhelm Floyd out the gate like he did Broner. Floyd is too smart a fighter. He let him wind himself in the early rounds, and start sucking in air through his mouth. Then he systematically kept him out of steam with body shots him all night. His punches had no mustard on em after the half. Anyone who thinks the punches against the ropes were effective isn't familiar with boxing. Punches landed on a fighter who uses the ropes as well as Floyd only tire the puncher, while having about 75% of the power absorbed by the ropes. He was only hurt by the low blows and that head butt. He was never in trouble. If he could've timed that check hook a little better Maidana would've hit the canvas. Although I believe he would've gotten up no matter how many times he went down. He's got a lotta heart, but none of these trainers seem to know how to beat Floyd.

All they would have to do is train their fighter to destroy his body, because his head is rarely there to catch anything you throw. And when it is, his shoulder or a glove keeps it from landing flush. Why wear yourself out swinging at what you can't hurt. I would train my fighter to faint in with heavy lateral movement, only swing when in close, and just power shot his arms, chest, stomach and whatever you can hit. Pay special attention to destroying his biceps. Don't miss anymore than 5% of punches. Just wail on him. Sure Compubox won't give credit for most being landed. But if you do that from start through the 6th round, you will see a much different Floyd the second half of the fight. In the 7th, continue but rest,. Do about half of what you've been doing and keep him off the jab so he stays away. Only jab at his head, which will be much more vulnerable now that his arms are hurt. Fight like this until the 9th. In the 9th, go back to work full steam battering his body. Slow down for the 10th through the midway mark of the 11th. Then back at it.

In the 12th, he won't want to come forward, but he has to, because by now he's behind on all the scorecards. Fight smart and evade the first minute. Then attack, beginning slowly, and pick up steam as the last minute begins. In the last 30 seconds beat the ever loving fuck out of him, hitting whatever you can. Sure you probably land between 10 - 30 punches to the head the whole night, but that's great against Floyd. I guarantee a different outcome at decision time. All these fighters trying to knock him out got the whole thing twisted. This is the same type of strategy you would've needed to dominate Winky Wright. But ironically, A fighter with Winky's style would be the perfect choice to beat Floyd.

Garcia literally told Maidana in the corner, on camera, to "be dirty." And that guy's the trainer of the year. :smh:
Another Ref will warn Maidana about holding the ropes to prevent Floyd from moving away
Another ref might have taken points from Maidana for a list of dirty shit he did during the fight, including low blows, elbows, rabbit punches, holding the ropes, kneeing and tackling.
Maidana lost the fight; he just did better than expected...
The fight seemed closer than it was because Maidana threw a bunch of wild shit... that didn't land.

If there is a rematch, Floyd's people will make sure that the
new ref does not allow that bullshit. The ref yesterdays was
a good ref, but he might have changed the tenor of the fight
had he taken a point away from Maidana for holding the ropes
and hitting on the other side.

Floyd said in advance of the fight that he wasn't going to use as much movement as usual, to ramp up the entertainment for the fans. He did. Yes, he allowed Maidana to throw 850+ punches, but he only allowed 25% of the punches to land. Fight fans gotta know the difference between fighting and flailing. The only damage Floyd took was a cut from a headbutt. He handily won this fight, while making it look closer than it actually was. And now he's got everybody clamoring for a rematch with a fighter he could have easily blown out using his normal fighting style. Maidana would/will get RickyHatton'd
next time. Well played, Floyd. Well played.

The good part is that the rematch against this bum-ass dude will count as one of his last 3 fights. Hispanics will buy this shit quick with the false hopes of Chino winning.

Adrien Broner WINS Just Beat the Fuck outta MEXICAN!

Broner fought at 140 and he picked an opponent that stood and waited...not a good look after getting his ass whooped.

he didn't show that he improved or made adjustments. fought a safe fighter that didn't pressure him and didn't have a big punch

I would seriously beat the shit out of your obese ass go lose some weight you fat faggit

It's CLEAR as FUCK that effective pressure fighters give Floyd FITS...shiiit Floyd had to catch up in this fight

There may be a blueprint there....

rough house pretty boy Floyd and he will bitch and cry to the ref all night and not start fighting until round 7......

Yeah, No head movement or anything.

Ever since the Castillo fight people thought that was the blueprint: Push him to the ropes, hold him behind the head and punch.

in my opinion, Broner is now vindicated for his loss to Maidana

if an experienced fighter and potential goat had to dig deep, young broner didnt have a chance

besides the knockdowns, he won about 4 or 5 rounds in that contest

he still needs to improve his footwork tho

That didn't even work for Castillo in the rematch. He got completely outclassed and embarrassed. The reality of the matter is that no boxer is going to dominate every single round of every single fight. Maidana is a tough, active fighter. I'm not surprised he stayed live the entire 12 rounds. He clearly lost and I would imagine it would be by a much wider gap if they do indeed have a rematch.

That's how I saw it too. He needed to feel Maidana out, Marcos was a buzzsaw and looked almost amateurish but he never fell into those lulls Floyd makes guys fall into after he's tapped them a few times.
Maidana earned a rematch but part of that was Floyd's strategy allowing him to stay in the fight. When Floyd needed to sweep some rounds (the last 4), he did.
The rematch won't be as close or probably as entertaining. People still haven't learned that "Castillo blueprint" doesn't actually work. It didn't work for Castillo and he fought Floyd twice.
Props to Tony Weeks for quickly breaking up clinches.
The big loser, short term, was Amir Khan. He had the best win of his career lately but Maidana had such a spirited outing, the rematch the more interesting fight. He should go try to make that Alexander fight or Shawn Porter. Go beat somebody good and get a belt. Be ready for that next April fight. Actually earn it this time.
This is another fight where if they still fought to 15 instead of 12, Floyd would have won by KO or stoppage and not by decision.

Uh no. Even by your math, Broner only won 4 or 5 rounds in a 12 round fight. Add in the knockdowns and he was lucky to be as close as he was on the cards.

:lol::lol::lol:

It's like he missed the result of the fight.

yea, if the blueprint is throw wild ass punches and windmill and hope you connect while getting tagged at a 70% clip and then get tired and figured out while trying to put pressure on and end up throwing 800+ punches but only landing 25% while floyd lands 53% of his punches? then you need a new blueprint.

You have to give the kid some credit and respect that Maidana has peaked as a veteran 30 year old fighter. After the 6th round, Broner was winning rounds until he got knocked on his ass again which stopped his momentum. But the kid never quit and he kept coming to the end. Now we have learned that Maidana is no fluke, Broner as a young undisciplined fighter didnt do as we badly as we originally thought.

Vindicated? What's that even mean? He got his ass whooped.

Devon Alexander beat the guy. Amor khan beat the guy. Mayweather also beat him.

Broner ASKED for the fight. He claimed he was something he wasn't. Plain and simple.

He's not on that level. At all. Of he fights anyone of substance at that weight again, he will lose. Shit, he just did ok back down at 140.

Again the Referee with 117-111 score did an excellent job watching and scoring this fight!! Mayweather work was pinpoint effective punching while Maidana's was mostly ineffective grazing at best...How many clean shots did Floyd get hit with really?

I guarantee you if Broner and his peoples inspected Madonnas gloves the outcome would have been much different.

I just watched the fight again!

I gave Maidana rounds 1,4,5, and 8 only, (I could possibly give him rounds 3 and 6 but that's a stretch because Mayweather had all the clean hard shots in those rounds) ... 8-4 Mayweather I could to 7-5 but that's being generous to Maidana who fought a very dirty fight.
