A married NBC staffer claimed she woke up in Matt Lauer's office with her pants halfway down her legs after having sex with the anchor until she passed out.

The woman told The New York Times that the longtime Today Show host's assistant had to take her to see a nurse after the encounter in 2001.

The former employee, who was in her 40s at the time, said Lauer first made advances towards her while covering a story in the late 1990s.

She described moving away from him during a car journey to the airport because he was sitting 'uncomfortably close', to which he apparently replied: 'You're no fun'.

Then, in 2001, she claims the married Lauer summoned her to his office at 30 Rock in New York to discuss work. She says he then used a button under his desk to lock the door and then told her to unbutton her blouse.

She said the veteran broadcaster then stepped out from behind his desk, pulled out a chair, bent her over, and started having sex with her until she fell unconscious.

The woman told The Times she woke up on the floor of his office with her pants halfway down her legs, prompting his assistant to take her to seek medical attention.

The ex-staffer, who has not been named, is one of a string of women who have come forward accusing Lauer of sexual misconduct.

She did not tell NBC about the alleged incident at the time because she thought she could have done more to stop Lauer, and left about a year later.

Weird ass story, seems like she is leaving a lot out.

wow he smashes till they are unconscious. LOL beast

The woman, who was in her early 40s at the time, told her then-husband about the encounter, which The Times confirmed with him in a phone call. The couple was separated at the time, and later divorced. She also described it to a friend five years ago, which the friend confirmed to The Times.

:smh:

I am sorry but this is wild to me. You can't tell me a 40 year old married woman isn't going to say/do shit and just takes off her shirt and bends over. :smh:

Think about it...

She was separated from her husband at the time... which means she probably only had 1 single 'source of income' in the household... So maybe she thought ML would give her a 'lump sum' of dough... since he's a multi-millionaire. :dunno: Or at least 'pay her mortgage' for awhile. :dunno: Or maybe get her a 'promotion' that could pay her ALOT MORE in yearly salary. :dunno:

Plenty of women (before her) have 'gotten something out of those types of affairs'.
Especially in the Hollywood/Entertainment/Newsroom industry.

I'll give you an example... think Julie Chen.

Back in the day, she had like a 5-year affair with Leslie Moonves... while he was still married to his first wife Nancy.

Dig it...

- First of all, Leslie Moonves is about 20 years older than Julie Chen.
- Moonves & Chen started dating back in 1999... when Julie Chen was a reporter in a small newsroom in Ohio.
- Before she even dated him... she had a (well-known) affair with another married man... who was a News Producer in Los Angeles.
- Ok, in 2003... Leslie Moonves becomes the CEO of CBS Television... and guess what happened?

- He immediately hires Julie Chen to be the 'lead anchor' of the CBS Morning Show in NYC.
- Within mere days of her arrival... his wife Nancy turns on her tv... and sees THE MISTRESS on the channel her husband runs. :hmm:
- Suddenly, Nancy realizes all
'the rumors' were TRUE... that her husband moved 'his sidepiece' into town... Literally.
- So she files for DIVORCE...
in less than one week after he got the BIGGEST promotion of his entire life, being named CEO of CBS.
- The end result was... Moonves married Julie Chen
'as soon as the ink dried' on his divorce papers, in 2004.

It was scandalous.

Dude literally got named CEO on a Monday...
Hired his mistress on Tuesday...
Wife spotted her on tv by Wednesday...
and she filed for divorce by Friday. :smh:

smashed til the chick passed out? man cmon....

As a woman, I'd really be interested in what you mean by "accountability" and holding women "accountable." I do agree with many posters who say that women can be sexually inappropriate in the workforce. I'm surprised that many businesses, even our fucking government, doesn't have good training and clear cut rules/procedures about sexual misconduct in the workplace. However, I don't hear stories of women gifting men with sex toys and explicit notes, or whipping their breasts out in front of a man either. I'm not naive to realize women can't be predatory, but it's not surprise that white men in power are using their privilege and status to be sexual predators either. Women, on the other hand, especially black women probably engage in sexually inappropriate behavior for other reasons - AND also because it isn't checked.

Fuck it - check men and women, in the same manner, if he/she is being inappropriate. I have no problem with that. But, I do have a problem with how it is a real problem that men, in positions of power, will often use it in unethical and sexually predatory manners and people think it's a "witch hunt" instead of looking at the systematic problems that cause these symptoms to exist.

There is no question that this sort of thing goes on. Hell, I have pointed it out myself over the years. Right now, a lot of the right people are going down; the obvious ones. People that have been known for this kind of shit. Weinstein, for example, is an obvious one. My problem is the methodology and blind assumption of truth on the part of the victims. To put it simply, I DON'T BELIEVE THAT ALL WOMEN TELL THE TRUTH. I don't believe that all of the "victims" are telling the truth, either. Who is vetting them and how so? There should be accountability for lying and consequences but in this current culture climate, anyone who doesn't believe every word that every woman says about harassment is victim-blaming. That's a load of bullshit. All possibilities have to be examined, including the possibility that the so-called victims are looking for a payday or a fame come up. There's no whore like a media whore. Male or female.
I know that women do actually get sexually harassed in the workplace. But do you fire the person or are there other roads of discipline? Why is sexual harassment the worst possible thing with the most severe consequences? I've seen women get hit on by guys in the workplace and forget that it happened within minutes. We are led to believe that this is impacting and lasting on women in such a way that they should be compensated in the form of lawsuit money or destruction of careers when I have seen women blow off a pass from a guy like its nothing and be completely unaffected by it. Its not always traumatizing. Its not rape. A lot of women use their sexuality as a come up in the workplace as well.
Also, these gang accusations that are happening lately will surely create difficult and tense work environments. What do you do when you find out that some are lying? What accountability do you hold them to and what consequences occur? Right now, a lot of women get off scott-free. Even false rape accusers get off free after sending men to jail for years. Why? These courses of actions, if left unchecked will bring about a new era of sumptuary laws where niggas have to avert their eyes when a chick walks by or else they will be fined and taxed..or worse. Before that happens, I will leave this bitch ass U.S. My passport is always up-to-date. Feminism is fucking up the country and to be honest, y'all (women) need to be checked for your actions a lot more often than you currently are. Some women are victims of sexual harassment. Some women plan on using temptation as a career come up. (see: Superhead) The fall back becomes to cry harassment when shit doesn't go their way. The difference between me and some of the other dudes on BGOL is I'm not afraid to call it out, whereas some guys will pander to female members because somehow they believe that they are accumulating pussy points.
I'm just saying that dudes should be on constant look out and watch their words and have a back up plan in case they end up in a position where some chick decides she wants a position and ruins a guy's career and maybe even his life. Victimhood is power and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Oh, and a woman's game has never been to whip out her tits or some other overtly sexual shit like that. A woman's game is usually a lot more subtle: flirtations with the boss for example. Touching him, not sexually but smiling and playing with him. Conning co-workers into doing the work for them, etc. Even being generally permissive to slightly inappropriate behavior. Subtle shit. There has to be a complete re-examination and of inappropriate behavior and concrete lines drawn in the consequences. There is too much room for manipulation in trying to define a "safe space" in the workplace. If someone steps on your foot, you don't get to shoot them in the head. Why should every instance of inappropriate behavior end in the man being fired, especially when some of those times, the woman has a hand in it as well? Men don't even see it coming. The shit we are seeing now is just the missile test. The bombs have yet to go off.

And another one bites the dust
Im still waiting for dudes to start talking...Barbara Streisand cornered and groped me...and Susan Sarandon.....

Lauer had a button installed under his desk that allowed him to lock his office door.

"It allowed him to welcome female employees and initiate inappropriate contact while knowing nobody could walk in on him," two women say.

DAMN LAUER WAS A SUPERVILLAIN !?!

Agreeing with @pookie on this. It is not on the person harassed/assaulted (actual harassment/assault, not perceived) to prevent the harassment in a work place setting besides keeping things professional themselves and or drawing clear boundaries. Technically, it isn't on the victim outside of work to prevent the harassment, but lines might get blurred depending on the setting. Millions of men, ourselves included go through their daily lives without crossing lines with women they interact with. They don't put themselves in a position to even be mistakenly accused of sexual harassment or inappropriate sexual behavior. They aren't fighting urges to act inappropriately - they're being normal, decent people. Therefore, it is entirely possible for men and women to work and congregate together without someone trying to get sexual with the other person.

We must also note that in all of these cases, it isn't just the standard employee, like Jim from accounting being fired for harassing women, although that will likely happen more often. These people getting fired have considerable power and influence in the spaces they operate in. They can make and break careers. The women never came forward because it was detrimental to their own lives to do so. Things are changing now, as it should.

This victim blaming must stop. Victim blaming and burdening women to prevent harassment is an old way of thinking. It has already extended to schools around the country in the form of pushing girls for dressing in anyway that might serve as a distraction to male classmates. However, in a number of those cases, you'll find out that those girls are wearing normal clothing and not wearing anything revealing. Similar to grown women and grown men, the girls aren't responsible for the lack of self control in the boys and the women at work aren't responsible for the lack of self control in their colleagues.

Seriously, if some dude can't go to work and interact with women in an appropriate manner then they need to look inward and figure out why that is and or change the setting they're in.

I agree with you to a certain extent. I think the issue is things can be taken out of context and a person life CAN be destroyed for something taken out of context. In addition, there's a social standard that women cant lie, cant be petty or commit a crime. A woman I dont know at work can say I looked at her the wrong way and I can lose my job over a bitch who's having a bad day, this is a hole in the pipe. That's where due process comes in. I work in media and you will be surprised how petty most people can be especially white women, especially those from the midwest and farm areas in Michigan. I show up, work and leave; no media parties or events. One of the few reasons I'm looking for a career change, MEDIA IS A SOCIAL JOB..
