‘Multiple victims’ injured in shooting at Pa. university: DA

Multiple people were shot at Lincoln University in Chester County, Pennsylvania Saturday night, according to the district attorney’s office.
“The Chester County District Attorney’s Office is aware of a shooting with multiple victims that occurred at Lincoln University this evening. Law enforcement has responded to the scene and are actively investigating. Please avoid the area at this time,” the DA’s office posted on social media at 10:10 p.m.
While the DA’s post did not include further information regarding the shooting, 6abc Action News said police found four gunshot victims on the 1500 block of Baltimore Pike around 9:15 p.m.
The conditions of those injured was unclear, but 6abc Action News reported victims in varying conditions.
A witness told CBS News Philadelphia he saw one person receiving CPR.
The shooting took place during the university’s tailgate and yardfest event near the football field, CBS News said.
Chester County Commissioner Eric Roe also posted on social media following the shooting.
“Please join me in praying for the students and faculty of Lincoln University, as well as the brave members of law enforcement on the scene. It appears there has been a mass shooting there tonight," the post said.
Lincoln University, which describes itself as “The Nation’s First Degree-Granting HBCU [Historically Black Colleges and Universities],” kicked off its 2025 homecoming celebration Thursday, Oct. 23.
The school is about 50 miles from Philadelphia.
As of 10:30 p.m., police have not announced any arrests or suspects in connection with the shooting.
