Only difference I could come up with then and now is that they can't do em all at one time like they used to. :smh::smh::smh:

That s what I ve been saying mainstream white America's hearts have never changed....

So the racism is deep....in the classroom....at the job....with the police.

Please a lot has changed....todays generation ain't built for what they went through

you're acting like the majority of black people were participating in the civil rights movement. that's some bullshit of mythological proportions. the same lineages that did it during the movement are ready, willing and able to do and go through it again there just needs to be the right kind of energy and leadership. the offspring of the activists folks that raised their kids right.

This is why the people of today need to be taught the history of themselves. They need to know what our elders went through so they can make the connection. Don't rely on public school, they are furthering the agenda by keeping the youngins in darkness and far away from the truth. Oh, and if ya'll have not peeped the documentary "Hidden Colors", I suggest you do so. Then you will fully understand why they want to attempt to take us down.

A lot has changed. You are all just brainwashed into thinking it hasn't and therefore you place the shackles on yourselves.

Are there still problems? Yes. And there always will be.

But, to say nothing has changed is the same as saying that those who suffered through billy clubs, attack dogs, water hoses and church bombings accomplished nothing and their lives and effort was given in vain.

That young fella is not the case.

I guess alot of yall never sat around with three generattions (parents, grandparents and greatgrands) listening to their stories. A whole lot has changed my brotha. No racism has not been eliminated and yes it lives within the majority of white folks but they are no longer protected under Jim Crow. The things that were done to past generations were'nt even against the law and even when it was, no white jury would convict a white man. Plenty of hate crimes and police brutality still occur but not unchallenged.

we  have an black potus :hmm:

Agreed and Agreed. All of the sacrifices that Malcolm and Martin's generations have made are paying off in a big way. We have shit now that they wouldn't believe in they wildest dreams. I wish my grandma coulda seen Obama get elected, she never thought it would happen, ever. But it did.

I get what the OP is saying though. We have to stay vigilant. Black Americans are the model that people all over the world follow when trying to gain human rights. We gotta keep up the pressure.

We also have a lot of shit they wouldn't have imagined in their wildest dreams.

Out-of-control prison system
Rampant wars all over the Middle East
$4/gallon gas
Sky-high unemployment
Preoccupation with celebrities and entertainment
Massive squandering of resources on total BS
Participating in the ongoing scam of the stock market/Wall Street
Bad food, bad clothes, Chinese-made everything
War on Drugs/Crime/Poverty/Terrorism

It's not better just because you say it is. In fact, it's a lot worse.

This shit right here. Back then if you lived in Ohio, you couldn't walk in certain neighborhoods without regular WAWs attacking you. You were playing with your life. The police were worse back then, but regular WAWs had big balls. In Ohio today, we can come and go as we please. WAWs may give you a look, but they ain't saying or doing shit.

Now you have cats crying about racism while tearing up their own shit. Muthafuckas don't know what racism is. They would curl up like a bitch if they had to go through what black folks had to go through 50-60 years ago.
