Kyrie Irving requesting trade out of Cleveland to find bigger role

Another question most on the Boston is way better just by getting Haywood and Unc....

Is the cavs way better

I'm take three players from the Celtics and cross match them...

Unc - It
Al - lil kev
Haywood - Drose

That ain't a huge gap even if you gives the edge to Boston for whatever reason.

Who can you cross match with Crowder that's on the Celtics

At work Just walked passed two cats talking....

1. "You think Kyrie was worth all of that?"

2. "Nope"

Me. "Kyrie a dawg tho, but Thomas had nice numbers too, and was money I the 4th quarters of game"

That's a deal you make for a MVP player. Kyrie migh get a MVP but he isn't there yet, He hasn't put the team on his back like that. He won't have to in Boston but still that was way too much.

Didn't IT4 finsh like 4th in MVP voting? I think he will be alot more effective than Kyrie was when LeBron was taking a breather

It's crazy that the real x-factor is going to be D. Rose. If he can give them what he gave the knicks last season (without the injury at the end), the cavs will easily be better this year than last season on depth alone. I don't think this helps them against the Warriors at all but I'm just saying purely the cavs of last season vs this season.
Stfu

Don't tell them shit

People are acting like you can just plug Isiah Thomas for Kyrie and everything will work out fine for the Cavs. Kyrie has way more intangibles than IT. He could literally pull the Cavs out of bad offensive sets by lighting up the defense. He always hits tough crucial shots and finishes better than anyone in the NBA. IT doesn't do any of those things when the chips are down... or at least we haven't seen it from him.

The Cavs are going to have rotation nightmares and no one to make the tough plays down the stretch outside of Lebron (which he isn't great at). They are clogged at the SF/PF positions and their rotations will look horrible. Where does Kyle Korver fit with Jae Crowder and Jeff Green? How will they defend the wing positions with IT?

The Celtics offense was the perfect situation for IT because they didn't have many scorers and he could freelance. How will he freelance on the Cavs? He will not make the defense key on him in the lane like defenses had to with Kyrie because he is 5'8". IT is not an off the ball player. LeBron's game will make IT have to play off the ball half of the game. Kyrie had to turn himself into an off the ball player and eventually did it pretty well splitting time between that and being ball dominant.

This trade makes the Cavs better in the long run and not for next season. This years Cavs team would lose to last years and the 2016 team.

I figured as much. I can see LeBron being so frustrated with this team all season long. The IT of the Celtics will disappear and we will see more of the IT from the Kings and Suns which was a good quality player but not a dominant all star.

Also he still has the hip injury.

I don't know much about the NBA draft rules but is this true?

"Another advantage with obtaining the BKN 1st this year; CLE can trade their own 2018 1st to upgrade their roster"

I'm not sure why you can't just plug IT4 right in. Sure Kyire is better overall but he did what Kyrie couldn't really do....put a team on his back and carry them. Last I checked IT4 was only behind Russ and Harden in scoring last year. Imagine him playing next to the best player in the world.

He's gonna have a huge chip on his shoulder after he gave that team his all after the death of his sister and they showed zero loyalty.

He had a team built around his capabilities. If you switch Kyrie and put him in that same system with players to match his skill set... he would be much better than IT. Everyone keeps talking about his scoring but his points, as well as Russ and Harden are inflated because they had the ball in their hands all game long. He won't be close to that on the Cavs who have LeBron, Love and JR who will need shots.

IT doesn't have the same intangibles as Kyrie. He doesn't put the same pressure on defenses that Kyrie does. He doesn't scare any defenders. You don't have to put your best wing defender on IT. Do you think Klay Thompson will be matched primarily against IT like he was on Kyrie... Lol. It makes Klay's job even easier now.

IT literal has short comings that cannot be overcome. Steph can shot right over him with no issues. Same thing with Kyrie now. This will be a frustrating season for LeBron coming up.

.

This is kind of stupid. He's replacing another ball dominant volume shooter. Yall act like he's replacing Klay Thompson. Kyrie was 5th in shots per game and ahead of IT on that list. They're the same fucking player.. one is just left-handed and a midget.

which is the only difference. being a midget is a problem
they're the same player though imo. exact same as how they'll be used with the cavs

Yeah. It's going to cause a few more matchup problems but Kyrie is trash as a defender anyway so it's like going from a 3 rating to a 2 rating out of 10. You're fucked there either way so it doesn't make that much of a difference. Not like either one of them was going to like Curry down anyway.

I actually think the Kyrie for IT exchange is the least interesting thing about this offseason. It's more about what Chowder, Green and Rose can bring to the table so that Lebron can actually sit on the bench for more than a minute at a time.

So now, after all the sacrifices he made for his team, bitchass Celtics fans are burning IT jerseys!?!?! I swear I fucking despise those racists ass CACs!! He was FUCKING TRADED IDIOTS!!!

I'm really pulling for him to have a fuxking HUGE season and be personally responsible for eliminating those bastards!!!

They "loved" that guy... and they act like he pulled a Lebron... how you gonna burn a jersey for a player that gets traded and he is on paper wanting to stay in your city. Shit is mad retarded.

It's funny you mentioned Irving being better with the Celtics system players (most of which are gone now with one important piece now in Cleveland). But you don't give any postives with IT4 playing with the best player in the world

Sure IT4 is short but it's not exactly like Kyrie shut down anyone on the Warriors himself

LOL called that nigga Chowder
Rose is the only 1 out of those 3 who can get their own shot maybe rose can distribute to them when lebron is on the bench

Why would IT be better with LeBron? He is not good at playing off of the ball. What kind out 5'8" player can be good on the wing and off of the ball? IT is limited and not built the same way as Kyrie. He is nowhere near as talented and can't be measured the same way.

Kyrie is not a good defender, we all know that. But he is capable of bothering Steph and other point guards when he decides to. IT cannot even bother them. They can shoot right over his outstretched arms like he isn't even in front of them.

Please explain what you do with IT when the game is close and the defense needs to tighten up. Does he guard the opposing teams point guard like Wall, Westbrook, Kyrie or Steph? Do you switch him on the SG? What if it's pick and roll? All of these issues came into play with the Celtics who were more equipped to handle those issues and they still couldn't overcome them.

An interesting look at Kyrie using numbers:

"One interesting point from it:
Sustaining a usage rate of more than 40 percent is virtually unheard of — only Westbrook topped that mark in a single season — but his point and assist rates per 100 possessions away from James puts him in elite company: Since 1979-80, only Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Curry and Isaiah Thomas have averaged more than 40 points and eight assists per 100 possessions with a 52 percent eFG% for an entire season."

LOL and I'm talking mainly on the defensive side. I think the offensive side is fine. they were top 4 last year.. the offense was never an issue...it was the defense... they were bottom half of the league. Rose takes a bit of weight off offensively but i think it's more about green and crowder being able to give him spells.. Lebron is one of the most versatile defenders in the league but he's actually just slightly above average defensively as a man-defender. he's a great help defender though and they need someone else on the floor that can defender perimeter/wing players. You can't be the leading scorer, rebounder, and assist man and then have to defend Durant..

Green maybe I don't think Crowder is good enough but we'll see. It helps the defense though no doubt about it hard to be worse than they were last year.
