Kobe 49 cranrab 0

I know that Kobe's overconfidence can sometimes crew the Lakers up when he starts jacking up bad shots

you term it "overconfidence" but when the evidence is presented to you that it has been CAREER LONG (and not episodic), then it is plain stupidity, not overconfidence.

the good things he does has contributed GREATLY to the Lakers being #1 in the West.

there you go again. fakers without pau gasol 35-20. that would make them a 6 seed. fakers with pau gasol 22-5. care to rephrase your remarks?

The dude can't suck HALF as badly as you say he does if he's one of the top candidates.

great logic, sir. who won MVP again last year?

You just focus on all the negative shit about Kobe's game and say's he sucks, yet you don't do the same for anyone else.

visit the blog again, and tell me i didn't.

whats your angle tim rock?

wade got a ring with a older Glove and antione walker and zo and with a 13/10(drew goodens numbers in the last finals) shaq in the finals. oh and posey was the best 3 point shooter. -.-

For Kobe to pass Jordan he has to keep these players from Championships:

The Boston 3 party (Garnett, Pierce, and Allen)
The Suns (Nash and Stoudemire)
The Blazers when Oden gets healthy (The Blazers are going be really good)
Iverson

Jordon stopped:
Karl Malone and John Stockton
Charles Barkley
Patrick Ewing
The Glove
:confused::confused:

With that said, for Kobe to pass Jordan he also has to

have a top 50 future HOF player as a teammate who is also one of the best defenders in the league, who can run the plays

have the best three point shooter in the NBA - who has to at least be shooting near 50% from the arc

have one of the greatest rebounders in the NBA in the past 30 years

have veteran role players who were near franchise guys in their own right early on

have the benefit of the doubt from all refs, all the time

have all of media shook to say anything negative about him

have david stern shaping the league completely around Kobe.

Re: tobe 49 cranrab 0

I'd never want to be known as the biggest HATER of ANYBODY on a messageboard.

i'm only known as a "hater" (why do alleged MEN use that term anyway?) by the cakeboys who are strangely attracted to another man.

they're the ones who find it so difficult to address the TRUTH. noticed it's 4 pages and nobody DARED to refute FACT?

I dont have an angle. You are the one dwelling on a finals series from 4 years ago. So I guess Shaq wasnt on that Heat team huh. Didnt Kobe get a ring with an older Ron Harper, and an older Rick Fox, Horace Grant, Brian Shaw etc.

Re: tobe 49 cranrab 0

Their is a line that you can cross that will make ANYONE look like an obsessive maniac, and cranrab has crossed that line.

that's pretty comical (suspect?) coming from an alleged dude who put "8"s in his username!

and wrote MULTIPLE posts about how the nike commercial was a testament to tobe's pyschological makeup!

but i'm the maniac. right? ;)

Re: tobe 49 cranrab 0

What I do know is that Kobe was the x-factor in every championship run.

But it was Kobe killing the spurs/kings etc on the road there. Oh, and Fisher and Horry did shit too.

even were i to agree on YOUR designation of "x-factor", that in and of itself would be an admission that many of the laughable exaggerated claims are bogus.

case closed (again). or was that a misquote/typo?

and i agree that derek fisher and robert horry were significant factors during the championship runs. but none more significant than shaquille o'neal and coach jackson.

ok so what has kobe done since those 2004 playoffs?

i can only ask questions on when the last time i seen him in the finals.

please don't compare a laker shaq to a miami heat shaq.

Tim Rock do u believe right now kobe is better than Jordan ever was like some people in this thread?

Re: tobe 49 cranrab 0

No Malone = no Power forward.

Add Snaq only bringing it 1 game, Kobe trying too hard and the Glove not fitting and you have a defeat.

Plus the squad was exposed for being slow and old.

perfect example. how many excuses can you fit in 3 sentences?

stop bullshittin', LS.

shaquille o'neal shooting over 80% from the floor in G2 and tobe unilaterally decides its cool to jack up 27 FGAs (making only 10! :puke:)

please. and you wanna push some "they were old" business. :smh:

No. Kobe is nowhere next to Jordan, and never will be. Jordan is the greatest and it will stay that way.

Just my 2 cents

great job of beef googling.

unfortunately, NONE of it supports the claim that i responded to.

which was: elgin baylor, kareem abdul jabbar, and jerry west all claim that tobe is the best player each of them ever saw.

why do i always hold out hope that someone on BGOL can read with comprehension?

:smh:

agrees....

damn cranrab be pullin stats out his ass on niggus.

...and that's his problem, numbers don't tell you the circumstances surrounding them.

His logic is always anti-Kobe. The Lakers win? Kobe's riding coattails. The Lakers lose? It's Kobe's fault.

Their is no point in debating someone like that. His responses are predictable, and he hides behind stats 'cause most people HAVE to take them at face value, 'cause don't know the circumstances that gave way to those stats.

I've seen too many games in my career where the box scores were misleading. I don't like everything about Kobe's game, but their are a lot of things that I do like. However, in a discussion with a dude like cranrab, it's easy to come off as a Kobe dickricker, 'cause he's anti-Kobe extreme forces you into the other extreme, in an attempt to bring some balance to the debate.

Cranrab can post all the stats he wants, but it's obvious he ignores any stats that portray Kobe as the great player that his fans, players, coaches and GM's respect him as.

Re: tobe 49 cranrab 0

LMAO @ this thread going 6 pages.

right?

funny how the tobe STANS say i'm a stalker yet they can't resist talking about their man. some of the people in this thread can't seem to look themselves in the mirror honestly.

i hope i'm driving up HNIC's traffic.

Just my 2 cents

Forgive Jerry West for being biased. The man who brought Kobe Bryant to the Los Angeles Lakers recently called the high-scoring, high-maintenance guard the best player in the NBA. West made his preference clear with all due respect to Kevin Garnett, though the Hollywood logic behind his choice will likely spark debate in advance of tonight's Celtics-Lakers game at the Staples Center.

............................
Link to the rest of the article is above. (no he didnt say best EVER, but he is saying that Kobe is that guy right now like it or not)

Most players, coaches, NBA GMs, basketball experts, sports analysts, sports columnists, NBA announcers, celebrities and worldwide polls said Kobe is the best!

I personally think MJ is the GOAT..but like all records and accomplishments someone can and will come and wipe them away..who's to say that Kobe wont be that guy?

Funny thing is that whatever he does, Kobe haters will find a reason to reduce the accomplishment..win an MVP..its not enough..win a ring post Shaq not enough, etc etc..He will never be able to please the haters and wont ever do any wrong with his supporters.

As to the comment about Gasol, yes he has certainly made it easier for Kobe but last I checked he wasnt doing ish in Memphis..Gasol is having a career year, and the misconception that Kobe Bryant dose not make his teammates better can be put to rest.

After all, even if Gasol made Kobe better, Kobe has made Gasol equally better.

Funny how that is a two way street.

Players and coaches who have said Kobe is the best Some of them are old but the point is made..NBA players (who compete against the guy and dont really have a reason to lie) say he's the best. Coaches say he's the best. If you cant believe them on this who can you believe?

(Guys that have never played against him? Cats that never played int he L?)

"To me, the best player in the game is Kobe Bryant," said TNT analyst Doug Collins, a former NBA player and coach. "He has incredible physical skills. He has an incredible competitive will. If I had to win a game tomorrow, Kobe would be the first guy I picked on the perimeter."

Dirk Nowitzki

This is from http://www.insidehoops.com

InsideHoops.com: Other than yourself and any of your teammates, who are the official Dirk Nowitzki candidates for the league MVP?

Dirk Nowitzki: That's tough. LeBron certainly has a case in the East. On the Celtics, KG has had a great year. And in the West, to me it's been Kobe, the way he's been scoring, really setting the tone every night for his team, and to me he's the best player in the league anyway, scoring-wise and all-around player. I'd probably give it to Kobe. Those three definitely deserve it.

Don Nelson

"I thought we did as good of a job as we could defensively on him and he's my vote for MVP. He's the best of the best and deserves the award more than, I think, anybody else and I hope he gets it. He's a marvelous player, makes everybody else better. There isn't anything that he doesn't do. He's a pretty sensational player, I have enjoyed watching him all these years and I have enjoyed coaching him in one All-Star game when he got MVP."
KOBE #1 PLAY OF THE YEAR

Al Thornton on Kobe:

“He’s as good as advertised, said Thornton. “He’s amazing. There’s nothing he can’t do out there on that basketball court. Without a doubt the best I’ve seen so far.

Ron Harper (Former MJ teammate) :

"Kobe is the best player in the NBA"

http://broadband.nba.com/cc/playa.php?co...

Newble, former teammate of LeHYPE just said Kobe is the best today LOL!

http://lakers.freedomblogging.com/2008/0...

Newble, the former Cleveland Cav, signed his 10-day contract Friday and immediately provided great material for reporters when asked to compared LeBron James with Kobe Bryant.

“You know what? Kobe’s better, and if you ask LeBron, he’ll tell you Kobe’s better,” Newble said.

Deron Williams after the Utah- LA game:

"He's the best player in the world,"

http://news.mywebpal.com/partners/963/pu...

Shawn Battier:

“I saw how good Kobe was in my rookie year when I was in Memphis, Battier said. “Everyone makes a big deal out of his 81-point game against the Raptors. But he gave me personally about 63 in my rookie year — in three quarters. And no one really talks about it. He’s unbelievable. Unbelievable. All the praise that he receives, he earns.

“(Kobe) never shows frustration, Battier said. “He’s the only guy in the league. That’s why I respect the hell out of him. He keeps coming at you wave after wave, just attacking you. So against him, you have to attack from the tip to the buzzer. Because the second you let up and lose your focus, he’s got you.

Chris Kaman just said Kobe is the best!

"They're a good team. They have the best player in the world [Bryant] on their team," said the Clippers' Chris Kaman, who scored 14 points and had 11 rebounds, but had only four points after the first quarter.

Corey Maggette

He was interviewed last night after the game, and he said, (quote) "Kobe is the best player in the world."

Dirk Nowitzki just said again today that Kobe is the best!

"He took the game over, and he won it," said Nowitzki, who finished with 30 points and 13 rebounds.

"To me, he's the best player in the league. They're the best team right now, so he definitely deserves it the MVP."

SHAQ HAS SAID IT AGAIN THAT KOBE IS THE BEST!

“Kobe’s the best player in the league right now,” O’Neal said of his former verbal sparring partner. “He’s playing fabulous.”

http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/1...

Caron Butler just said Kobe is the best a few days ago:

"Kobe's the best in the game right now, hands down,"Butler said of his former Lakers teammate. "When a guy like that gets rolling, you are trying to stop one of the best players ever, and we weren't able to. He had good rhythm going and all the other guys were hitting shots as well.

http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/...

Pau Gasol said Kobe is the best a few days ago!

"He (Bryant) is a top-class player, the best in the NBA," Gasol told Spanish sports daily Marca on Saturday. "We can do great things together and form a great partnership."

Chris Bosh said Kobe is the best a few days ago:

"They will be tough to match. It will be something once they put that all together," Toronto's Chris Bosh said. "When you can put Bynum, Gasol and Odom out there, you have two shot blockers, three rebounders and then the best player in the league. So it will be very interesting to watch that come together and watch them play."

Said Szczerbiak: "He's Kobe. There's a reason why he's the best player in the NBA."

CHRIS BROUSSARD an ESPN columnist said Kobe is the best!

http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/ind...

This is a quote from Maurice Brooks from Race to MVP in nba.com

Bryant injured his groin last week against the Warriors, but he stayed in the game and played in the Lakers next contest against the Clippers. The Lakers are playing their best ball of the season, having won five of their last six. Is this the season that the best player in the league finally wins the MVP?

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Aj...

Kobe Bryant: The best player in basketball.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime?...

3. Kobe Bryant, Lakers guard -- Surprise, surprise. Kobe Bean has never won an MVP, and this year won't be any different, even though he's generally recognized as the game's best player at both ends of the floor. He's found a way to nurture and develop his teammates while still managing to score 27.7 points per game, second in the NBA. His production figures to pick up with the loss of Andrew Bynum for at least seven more weeks.

"He's the most electrifying, the best scorer in our game," Cleveland superstar LeBron James said. "He has won championships and he has made big shots throughout his career. Kobe Bryant is the best player in our league, to me

"I'm far away."

"I just think he's the best player in this league because of what he does on both ends of the court," said Hornets Coach Byron Scott, who is coaching the Western Conference All-Stars and played with Bryant in Bryant's rookie season, 1996-97. "I think offensively, there's nobody that can really guard him. Defensively, he loves the challenge of guarding the best guys on the (other) team."

"Kobe," Jazz forward Carlos Boozer said, almost before the who's-the-best question could be completed. "Kobe Bryant. He has everything offensively, and he has everything defensively. He has no flaws.

"If there's a guy in this league that doesn't have any flaws, it'd be Kobe."

Cranrab, you see the names and the comments??

Tell us why should we denounce our opinions of Kobe, when people who play against this dude are saying some of the same things we are? What makes your opinion so special???

Are you going to tell us that it's in the players contracts to say Kobe is the best in the game?

When you have this many of one person's colleagues saying the SAME thing, something ought to register in your damn head that you're crazy and need to take your frustration out on a dartboard.

You know what? Keep your lame response - 'cause you're going to tell us that these are not their real opinions, and they say entirely different things when the cameras are off.:lol::lol:

Does chemistry not mean anything to you? Does HUNGER not mean anytihng to you?

The Lakers were MORE talented - but Detroit was more hungry, better coached, and their wasn't the same tension on the team that the Lakers had. That's the bottom line.

Certain shit the stats can't account for.

and that's his problem, numbers don't tell you the circumstances surrounding them.

that would be an arguable claim if either of the 2 following conditions were met:

a) the conclusions drawn are not based on CAREER LONG evidence

b) the conclusions drawn were not measured against contemporaries

unfortunately for you, neither condition was met, and everything was presented objectively. cry me a river.

His logic is always anti-Kobe. The Lakers win? Kobe's riding coattails.

miss me with that bullshit. i present truth and fact. you (and the dick-riding legions) are the ones who color it or slant it.

in a discussion with a dude like cranrab, it's easy to come off as a Kobe dickricker, 'cause he's anti-Kobe extreme forces you into the other extreme, in an attempt to bring some balance to the debate.

sheer brilliance. let me blame cranrab because i'm arguing from a weak position and don't have the ability to defend it.

that's either a limp-wristed cop out, an admission of an inability to hold a position in a discussion, or both.

Cranrab can post all the stats he wants, but it's obvious he ignores any stats that portray Kobe as the great player that his fans, players, coaches and GM's respect him as.

FYI, i'd much prefer to talk basketball with you (and others) on BGOL. but the simple truth is you're not up to the task. for example, you're not knowledgeable enough to discuss the offensive system tobe plays in or the role he occupies in it, so i must use the lowest common denominator (statistics) with you.

that's why some posters have to use player quotes to support their position. they can't speak on the ACTUAL game itself or what takes place during it.

Re: tobe 49 cranrab 0

cranrab i don't understand your angle on why u say the worsten conference.

take a look at the splits and the truth will be revealed.

goats (no pun intended) get fat feasting on trash.

oh wait. some STAN is gonna come in here and point out that splits are statistics, and we can't use those big, scary statistics, because we're not able to interpret them without any bias.
