Kobe 49 cranrab 0

except there's only 1 problem with your statement (again).

the STANS aren't arguing "is all that good" v. "not all that good".

the dullards who caught feelings are suggesting "greatest of all time" v. "not greatest of all time", when tobe's not even the greatest of this time (see tim duncan and shaquille o'neal).

the hypersensitive morons with rainbow capes are claiming "as good or better than michael jordan" v. "not as good or better than michael jordan". see the difference?

I disagree about that one. If Kobe wins 1 more he will hate the same number of rings as both of them. If they don't get 1 this year, they will probably not see any more.

I'm pretty sure Snaq isn't going to get another 1 without the help of "Hott Lipps" and David Stern. As long as Nash and Amare don't play any D the suns are doomed to be a slightly better version of the Warriors.

we had a similar back and forth over a year ago. it doesn't matter what the ring total is (you're always so quick to point out robert horry), it's who was the major contributor.

for people like pookie, they have tremendous difficulty attributing causation, and will always assume it was 50/50. they are undeniably incorrect, and aren't even figuring the correct variables into the equation.

actually, it's your strange bias for tobe that has blinded you to reality.

tobe's penchant for shooting has been a CAREER LONG curse for the fakers, not a phenomenon that was limited to the 2004 post season.

go here and read some of the very first threads in the blog:

lakersfiction.blogspot.com

Strange bias? Dude, I'm a long time Kobe fan, and I flat out admitted I believe Kobe wasn't as good as Jordan. I even admitted I lost some respect for him after the Detroit series. I even admitted to the defencies I see in his game...

What have you done? Negro, you apparently have a damned BLOG dedicated to bashing this dude, and you NEVER have ONE THING positive to say about the dude. You call ME biased? Dude, you're sick.

I know that Kobe's overconfidence can sometimes screw the Lakers up when he starts jacking up bad shots, but the good things he does has contributed GREATLY to the Lakers being #1 in the West. Even if he DOESN'T win the MVP, he's a candidate. The dude can't suck HALF as badly as you say he does if he's one of the top candidates. You just focus on all the negative shit about Kobe's game and say's he sucks, yet you don't do the same for anyone else...

I don't know why your hate for Kobe is so damned strong, but you seriously need another hobby. It is unhealthy for one man to dislike a person as much as you dislike Kobe.

let's see.

the dude who TWICE whiffed on +/- comes back to the same thread to accuse another person of wiggling out of an argument.

nice try, pot.

you ready to discuss +/- yet? go ask your gal pal blunt for help with google.

Man you got a sickness. I always disagreed with your Kobe bullshit, but now I see you are a Kobe stalker. If I knew Kobe I would warn him about you, advise him on getting a restraining order. What the fuck do you do, google Kobe's name and troll every Kobe discussion. What happened man, what did #24 do to you. Get out get a woman, or in your case obviously you may need to buy some

Re: tobe 49 cranrab 0

why not?

he's proven in the past he knows how to ride coattails, and now that lamar odom got some help in pau gasol, anything is possible (if he keeps his FGAs reasonable).

You know what? The interesting thing is, you only look at stats. You don't look at how teams focusing so much on Kobe get's open shots for other players. You don't focus on anything but where Kobe is weak.

You're a damned maniac. I'd never want to be known as the biggest HATER of ANYBODY on a messageboard. If you can't give a balanced perspective on somebody, then the part that you refuse to acknowledge, bothers you greatly. As a hater, you obviously dislike what makes Kobe well-respected by fans, players, coaches and front offices.

Damn, dudes is getting pissed in here. I used to get like that when i first started arguing with Cran.

But ummmm, coattails, i dont know if i would go that far. Its not like Kobe was the 13th man or was only in the game during blowouts. He has carried the teams thru games and series during those championship years. Even though he wasnt soley responsible for winning the games and the ring, He had a huge hand in it. If thats the case, Clyde, D. Robinson, Shaq, Pippen, McHale, and many others, road coattails too.

What I do know is that Kobe was the x-factor in every championship run. Then it was the fact that Snaq faced no center even close to his status from the east, and he dominated in the finals.

But it was Kobe killing the spurs/kings etc on the road there. Oh, and Fisher and Horry did shit too.

Nah, man...

It's like, this dude is a fucking retard. How can you flaunt all the bad points on Kobe, and sum up his entire game based on the weaknesses in a man's game? I bet cranrab believe's everything Kobes accomplished was given to him, 'cause he ABSOLUTELY NEVER has anything positive to say about the dude...

Enough is enough. Their is a line that you can cross that will make ANYONE look like an obsessive maniac, and cranrab has crossed that line. NOT because he dislikes Kobe, but because how far he goes to make that known.

If Kobe is killed, I know who did it.

what happen to kobe in the 2004 playoffs?

what caused them to collapse...was hear this from the lakers fans.

i mean with that squad i woulda thought they woulda been a pushover.

No Malone = no Power forward.

Add Snaq only bringing it 1 game, Kobe trying too hard and the Glove not fitting and you have a defeat.

Plus the squad was exposed for being slow and old.

nebulous claim. name 'em. because the head coach of both flatly pointed to michael jordan. as did assistant tex winter.

kareem abdul jabbar has never said that. in fact, kareem abdul jabbar has said that elgin baylor was better than tobe.

jerry west has never said that. jerry west HAS said that AT ONE TIME he THOUGHT tobe had the POTENTIAL to be the best. that was more than a decade ago.

post a link to where elgin baylor said tobe was "the best [he] ever saw".

please.

Just my 2 cents

Forgive Jerry West for being biased. The man who brought Kobe Bryant to the Los Angeles Lakers recently called the high-scoring, high-maintenance guard the best player in the NBA. West made his preference clear with all due respect to Kevin Garnett, though the Hollywood logic behind his choice will likely spark debate in advance of tonight's Celtics-Lakers game at the Staples Center.

............................
Link to the rest of the article is above. (no he didnt say best EVER, but he is saying that Kobe is that guy right now like it or not)

Most players, coaches, NBA GMs, basketball experts, sports analysts, sports columnists, NBA announcers, celebrities and worldwide polls said Kobe is the best!

I personally think MJ is the GOAT..but like all records and accomplishments someone can and will come and wipe them away..who's to say that Kobe wont be that guy?

Funny thing is that whatever he does, Kobe haters will find a reason to reduce the accomplishment..win an MVP..its not enough..win a ring post Shaq not enough, etc etc..He will never be able to please the haters and wont ever do any wrong with his supporters.

As to the comment about Gasol, yes he has certainly made it easier for Kobe but last I checked he wasnt doing ish in Memphis..Gasol is having a career year, and the misconception that Kobe Bryant dose not make his teammates better can be put to rest.

After all, even if Gasol made Kobe better, Kobe has made Gasol equally better.

Funny how that is a two way street.

Players and coaches who have said Kobe is the best Some of them are old but the point is made..NBA players (who compete against the guy and dont really have a reason to lie) say he's the best. Coaches say he's the best. If you cant believe them on this who can you believe?

(Guys that have never played against him? Cats that never played int he L?)

"To me, the best player in the game is Kobe Bryant," said TNT analyst Doug Collins, a former NBA player and coach. "He has incredible physical skills. He has an incredible competitive will. If I had to win a game tomorrow, Kobe would be the first guy I picked on the perimeter."

Dirk Nowitzki

This is from http://www.insidehoops.com

InsideHoops.com: Other than yourself and any of your teammates, who are the official Dirk Nowitzki candidates for the league MVP?

Dirk Nowitzki: That's tough. LeBron certainly has a case in the East. On the Celtics, KG has had a great year. And in the West, to me it's been Kobe, the way he's been scoring, really setting the tone every night for his team, and to me he's the best player in the league anyway, scoring-wise and all-around player. I'd probably give it to Kobe. Those three definitely deserve it.

Don Nelson

"I thought we did as good of a job as we could defensively on him and he's my vote for MVP. He's the best of the best and deserves the award more than, I think, anybody else and I hope he gets it. He's a marvelous player, makes everybody else better. There isn't anything that he doesn't do. He's a pretty sensational player, I have enjoyed watching him all these years and I have enjoyed coaching him in one All-Star game when he got MVP."
KOBE #1 PLAY OF THE YEAR

Al Thornton on Kobe:

“He’s as good as advertised, said Thornton. “He’s amazing. There’s nothing he can’t do out there on that basketball court. Without a doubt the best I’ve seen so far.

Ron Harper (Former MJ teammate) :

"Kobe is the best player in the NBA"

http://broadband.nba.com/cc/playa.php?co...

Newble, former teammate of LeHYPE just said Kobe is the best today LOL!

http://lakers.freedomblogging.com/2008/0...

Newble, the former Cleveland Cav, signed his 10-day contract Friday and immediately provided great material for reporters when asked to compared LeBron James with Kobe Bryant.

“You know what? Kobe’s better, and if you ask LeBron, he’ll tell you Kobe’s better,” Newble said.

Deron Williams after the Utah- LA game:

"He's the best player in the world,"

http://news.mywebpal.com/partners/963/pu...

Shawn Battier:

“I saw how good Kobe was in my rookie year when I was in Memphis, Battier said. “Everyone makes a big deal out of his 81-point game against the Raptors. But he gave me personally about 63 in my rookie year — in three quarters. And no one really talks about it. He’s unbelievable. Unbelievable. All the praise that he receives, he earns.

“(Kobe) never shows frustration, Battier said. “He’s the only guy in the league. That’s why I respect the hell out of him. He keeps coming at you wave after wave, just attacking you. So against him, you have to attack from the tip to the buzzer. Because the second you let up and lose your focus, he’s got you.

Chris Kaman just said Kobe is the best!

"They're a good team. They have the best player in the world [Bryant] on their team," said the Clippers' Chris Kaman, who scored 14 points and had 11 rebounds, but had only four points after the first quarter.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?game...

Corey Maggette

He was interviewed last night after the game, and he said, (quote) "Kobe is the best player in the world."

Dirk Nowitzki just said again today that Kobe is the best!

"He took the game over, and he won it," said Nowitzki, who finished with 30 points and 13 rebounds.

"To me, he's the best player in the league. They're the best team right now, so he definitely deserves it the MVP."

SHAQ HAS SAID IT AGAIN THAT KOBE IS THE BEST!

“Kobe’s the best player in the league right now,” O’Neal said of his former verbal sparring partner. “He’s playing fabulous.”

http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/1...

Caron Butler just said Kobe is the best a few days ago:

"Kobe's the best in the game right now, hands down,"Butler said of his former Lakers teammate. "When a guy like that gets rolling, you are trying to stop one of the best players ever, and we weren't able to. He had good rhythm going and all the other guys were hitting shots as well.

http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/...

Pau Gasol said Kobe is the best a few days ago!

"He (Bryant) is a top-class player, the best in the NBA," Gasol told Spanish sports daily Marca on Saturday. "We can do great things together and form a great partnership."

Chris Bosh said Kobe is the best a few days ago:

"They will be tough to match. It will be something once they put that all together," Toronto's Chris Bosh said. "When you can put Bynum, Gasol and Odom out there, you have two shot blockers, three rebounders and then the best player in the league. So it will be very interesting to watch that come together and watch them play."

Said Szczerbiak: "He's Kobe. There's a reason why he's the best player in the NBA."

CHRIS BROUSSARD an ESPN columnist said Kobe is the best!

http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/ind...

This is a quote from Maurice Brooks from Race to MVP in nba.com

Bryant injured his groin last week against the Warriors, but he stayed in the game and played in the Lakers next contest against the Clippers. The Lakers are playing their best ball of the season, having won five of their last six. Is this the season that the best player in the league finally wins the MVP?

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Aj...

Kobe Bryant: The best player in basketball.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime?...

3. Kobe Bryant, Lakers guard -- Surprise, surprise. Kobe Bean has never won an MVP, and this year won't be any different, even though he's generally recognized as the game's best player at both ends of the floor. He's found a way to nurture and develop his teammates while still managing to score 27.7 points per game, second in the NBA. His production figures to pick up with the loss of Andrew Bynum for at least seven more weeks.

"He's the most electrifying, the best scorer in our game," Cleveland superstar LeBron James said. "He has won championships and he has made big shots throughout his career. Kobe Bryant is the best player in our league, to me

"I'm far away."

"I just think he's the best player in this league because of what he does on both ends of the court," said Hornets Coach Byron Scott, who is coaching the Western Conference All-Stars and played with Bryant in Bryant's rookie season, 1996-97. "I think offensively, there's nobody that can really guard him. Defensively, he loves the challenge of guarding the best guys on the (other) team."

"Kobe," Jazz forward Carlos Boozer said, almost before the who's-the-best question could be completed. "Kobe Bryant. He has everything offensively, and he has everything defensively. He has no flaws.

"If there's a guy in this league that doesn't have any flaws, it'd be Kobe."

of course kobe is the best in the nba only a dumbass would say he's not the best in the NBA right now.

but some of the people saying that are irrelevant.

but the lakers got past a hard spurs team and the timberwolves...how could they not get past the pistons?

im just asking questions on the last time i saw kobe in the finals.

Dallas got past a hard spurs team too, how could they not get past the heat? yours questions about something that happened 4 years ago are pointless. I dont understand what you are trying to get at? Do you expect the lakers to win everytime they make it to the finals. Magic made it finals and didnt win. So did Wilt and several other players. Whats your point?

What did it cost them? It cost them Horace Grant and Karl Malone. There was no Robert Horry at backup. So you had Slava Medvedenko at the 4.

The same thing will happen in the west this year. Suns/Spurs are beating each other up. The winner of that series gets the Hornets.

Utah and Houston are going to go at least 6 (I don't think McLady will go out that easy) and the winner gets the Lake squad.

Then, most likely the lakers will end up grinding it out against either the Spurs or bugs. During all this time, Boston will only have 1 tough series against Detroit.

3 hard 7 game playoffs vs 1

That's the reason.

jordan never lost a finals @ tim rock.

and dallas lost 4 straight to the heat and did not have a "kobe type of player" on there team.

ok so LS you think the lakers have a good shot at making it to the finals? me i think so to, the way they are playing with gasol is amazing.

i do hope kobe gets another ring so he can shut up people like cranrab and other people who dislike him.

and tim rock magic was facing larry bird, who was kobe facing? rasheed wallace?

-drowns-

Let's be serious for a moment, Jordan is the GOAT hands down

now that's out the way, this thread is full of kobe dick riders and kobe haters, kobe is a great player no doubt, best one on one player in the league, hell you can even say he's the best player in the league, although I give that to lebron, but that's debateable

the fact of the matter is that the spurs & the celtics are the two best teams in the league, the lakers cannot beat the spurs in a seven game series

lets remember that the lakers are playing the nuggets a 1 vs 8 seed, a 8 seed is never supposed to beat a 1 seed

jr smith is a nobody, who obviously doesn't understand his place, kobe gets no props for shitting on him

and why is nobody getting on carmelo anthony for not wanting to guard kobe, I mean this is his team right? he does see them getting there ass's handed too them? why have kenyon and the mexican white boy hack master guard him

jordan never lost a finals @ tim rock.

So what does that say about those who did lose in the finals?

and dallas lost 4 straight to the heat and did not have a "kobe type of player" on there team.

No, but they had a soon to be MVP in Dirk. They didnt need a "kobe type of player" to beat the Spurs.

and tim rock magic was facing larry bird, who was kobe facing? rasheed wallace?

-drowns-

Again, what does that say about Magic? rasheed, Billups, Tayshaun, Hamilton, etc. All All-stars. Do you think it was just kobe against all of them?

lets remember that the lakers are playing the nuggets a 1 vs 8 seed, a 8 seed is never supposed to beat a 1 seed

Have you seen the records in the WC? Golden State who didnt make the playoffs, would be the 3rd seed in the east. If a lower seed beats a higher seed, its not a suprise. Only about 4 or 5 games separated each team. Tell GS that an 8 seed is not supposed to beat 1 seed.

New Orleans is playing the 7th seed, but no one is saying "hey, their playing dallas, come on." In the west, it doesnt matter who you play. Nothing is written in stone. You think Houston, with home court, would have thought they'd be down 0-2 to Utah, a subpar road team?

I know what the records are, denver does not play a ounce of defense, I mean none, is it a surprize that the lakers are up 2-0 on them, no it isnt

Utah is a better team than the rockets at this point, so no it doesn't surprize me that are up 2-0 on them even though utah is a horrible road team

the west was rough this year no doubt, but it's not hard to see who was gonna win these 1st round series, spurs>suns, jazz>rockets, lakers>nuggets, hornets>maves

and the mavericks have the biggest cupcake in the league in dirk so for them to lose to the warriors last year was no shock to me

Some teams are built for the regular season and some are built for the playoffs

what happen to kobe in the 2004 playoffs?

what caused them to collapse...was hear this from the lakers fans.

i mean with that squad i woulda thought they woulda been a pushover.

The Pistons were the best defensive team in the NBA. Their strategy was to let Shaq do his damage, and focus their whole defensive effort, their entire scheme on stopping Kobe Bryant.

I guess you could say, they said we're gonna let Shaq and everyone else beat us, not Kobe.

Also, the Lakers were clearly a team on its last legs of a Dynasty, and they were missing Karl Malone for the finals. I felt that if Malone were healthy it could have gone differently.

For Kobe to pass Jordan he has to keep these players from Championships:

The Boston 3 party (Garnett, Pierce, and Allen)
The Suns (Nash and Stoudemire)
The Blazers when Oden gets healthy (The Blazers are going be really good)
Iverson

Jordon stopped:
Karl Malone and John Stockton
Charles Barkley
Patrick Ewing
The Glove
