Juicing/Smoothie thread

Where do you get your sea moss from?
Any health food store should have some for you. Remember though only a teaspoon is needed in the smoothie I described above. Can of Sea Moss Should last you a while. The benefits are amazing!!!

I just bought the wife a Vitamix A3500. I'm going to be hitting this thread hard.

I found a smoothie recipe that calls for Cacao Powder, Almond Milk, and a Banana. The Cacao is a major source of anti-oxidants.

2 frozen bananas w/ pack of frozen pineapples and frozen blueberries or whatever I feel like throwing in the blender that day.
Whatever I make it's better than me going to Wendy's or McD's that day. It's a complete meal replacement and you will not be hungry.
You would of been better off eating at McDonalds and or wendy's because it's about carbs man,2 bananas it equal to 4 pieces of bread and the pineapple is even more than that,so you could eaten two sandwiches,a salad and taken in less calories than that shake that's a meal replacement.
the only reason I'm responding in this thread,which is great thread but I see this as another fad that people are jumping on and you just need to watch that shake stuff too because blending nothing but greenery is no different than eating a cucumber,you gain nothing from it,it's just a filler to take up some food at a meal.

One thing though you are right about calories, but because the meal is in liquid form your body will readily use it faster vs. having your stomach break solids down. Rot Gut is real. That leftover burger will sit in your stomach and some people are not regular like they should be so imagine all preservative burger meat festering in your stomach and colon.

So when I say two bananas, I mean two halves of one banana. It's all about the portions too.

There are about 150 calories in the Pineapples I eat. They are pre-portioned bags with 150 cal and 34 grams of carbs. That's way better than eating some greasy burger with white bread and ground beef and of course you get the fries.

I'm listening to what everyone has to say, not really arguing, but just laying out what I'm putting in my smoothies. It's about baby steps towards a healthier lifestyle.

I also take several vitamins fish oil, magnesium, etc.

Exactly. Juicing and drinking smoothies also help promote a healthier lifestyle. You are at least trying to make a difference. If you to to Wendy's for lunch you are more than likely going to eat a fatty dinner. Like you said, it will sit on your stomach and absorb into your body. Get in, get out, that's what I'm trying to do with the food I eat. Any nutrients I miss, I try to supplement with pills.

Bra, its not that serious. If one educates themselves on how much protein they need its all good. I sit at 6 ft 193 so I take about 190 grams of protein a day. I'm at 15% body fat. For a nigga that's half a century I think I'm doing well.

But you are entitled to ur opinions bra. BTW I drink half gallon to a gallon of water daily. My water count is at 125% just got it checked today. But this is not for everyone and I don't knock ur opinion just feel you kinda have ur facts wrong on the protein thing, yeah too much can damage the kidneys but were talking about juicing not protein. I add that because I don't want to eat a bunch of meat with cholesterol, yes that includes chicken and turkey.

At 50 my BP cholesterol testosterone are that of a dude half my age so :dunno: Either way juicing has helped me feel healthier so Im gonna stay on topic about the juicing and not the protein :rolleyes2:

I just make up recipes all the time. I always start w/ 2 handfuls of spinach or kale, then 2 cups of water and a scoop of organic protein powder.

I started buying unsalted nuts and blending them up and then sprinkling those on top of my smoothie. Just helps w/ a little crunch and makes you drink the smoothie a little slower rather than gulping that bitch down all fast.

Man I might have to dump this raggaly ass Nutrabullet and buss for one of those.
 
I appreciate all the responses from you brothers. We really need to raise awareness about our health as black men and try to eat and live healthier. So many intelligent brothers on BG to me its more than just a porn site.

I agree with this 100%. I've decided not to eat anything that doesn't have any nutritional value in it until the year April 2021. At that time I can enjoy anything I want 1 weekend a month. I completely cut out all the bullshit and garbage. My only exception will be if I go to the movies I'll still get my pretzel bites and Icee. If I go to a ballgame I'll eat something but no sweets and I'll drink water. If I go to dinner with the wife eat whatever but drink water and no dessert. Lost 23 lbs in 6 weeks doing this. The sea moss helps. Apple Cider Vinegar also helps with weight loss. Don't forget about Black seed oil as well. If I want a snack I eat fruit, baby carrots or celery. Oatmeal before I work out. Plenty of veggies and I cut out pork and red meat 24 years ago. Just chicken, Turkey and fish for me. Sweet potatoes are very good too without all the added sugars. We have to live a healthier lifestyle brothers and sistas. :yes:

Yeah again I beg to differ. I juice a pound of kale and spinach with a few carrots mixed with collard greens cucumbers cilantro parsley daily. Nothing is more nutritious than greens. But again you do you bra

You won't be disappointed. Just watch the blades on this mutha. They are sharp as shit. It's very easy to clean though. The blades come out and I just rinse them off and then you can clean the pitcher.

You have to be careful with the Bullet. I have one of those, but I read that they've been exploding when hot liquid is placed inside of them, and people have been cutting themselves. I believe there's a lawsuit because of this. So, we stopped using ours. But, look it up.

I prefer both a juicer and a really good blender..

Juicing is really when you need them vitamins and minerals to hit you quick...

blending is great for getting that fiber and more of an everyday thingy...

juicing is great.. but I cant juice more than three times a week..

it aint that cheap, I try to buy organic and organic shit is rarily on sale.. it is but rarily

its my health so its just a good investment if you ask me...

just as good as the big shot blenders

I caught mine on sale at Walmart for $100.00. I think they go for about $150.00. It does everything the average person needs and then some. You put your ingredients in and hit the "smoothie" button. In about a minute and a half, it's blended perfectly. Easily the best blender I've ever owned.

But my main reason for coming in here is to say fuck any other blender out there take t500 bucks and buy a vitamix best purchase I have made for the kitchen in a minute

Man I was 287 DOWN TO 193 Took years for me to research and understand what I needed to do but Im better now as a result. That cheap ass juicer I bought just broke. Gonna buy a better one but in the mean time gonna do a switch in a lil bit here and buy another lol
