Man STOP THE WHOLE THREAD.....EVERYBODY SHOULD READ THIS MANS POST RIGHT HERE...
I swear I used to get so tired of cats with this "Roy was a great"....People talk about Floyd.....well who the fuck did Roy beat? I mean lets be serious John RuizYeah I guess the "accomplishment" was rare so I guess that was the lore. And to dude that said there were more fights at Heavy....no there werent. He wouldnt have been able to handle Toneys power at heavy, Holyfield, Klitschko's...none of that. And then you said Tyson? LOL.....That man was knocked unconcious by a cruiserweight, what the fuck do you think a Mike Tyson left hook or uppercut would have done to Roy?
Jermain didn't fall as hard because he was never as high. Roy's an alltimer who should have stopped years ago.
The list of guys who didn't go out counting the lights is shorter than the guys who did. Foreman is an exception and that was due far more to his size and power something he had in excess as he got old. For every George, there's a Erik Morales or Oscar De La Hoya or even Holyfield. Most fighters lose, not the ability to take the punch, but the ability to see it coming. It's the ones that they don't see that turn the lights out.
I know you are not giving James Toney credit for beating old ass Evander while shitting on Roy for beating sorry ass John Ruiz after Ruiz beat Holyfield. Come on, merce. I know you don't like Roy but damn.
"When you beat a legend, you become a legend. And Danny Green is on the verge of history!!!"
Huh?

Come on e, that shit was a eyes-closed-hail-mary that Roy didn't see coming. God owed Antonio one and paid him back with that punch. Now the Johnson knockout was legit but he shouldn't have even been in the ring so soon.
Hey Alaska, Jermain beat Bernard straight up in both fights. Hopkins won the last 4,5 rounds of their first fight but it was a 12 rd fight and he clearly lost the first 6,7. Math beat Bernard. He has become vulnerable to athletic fighters something Kelly Pavlik is not.true, but I swear the Jermain got too much hype. B-Hop was cheated and everybody he has fought since then has either been cheated or Jermain took a clear L to them except Ouma and Lacy.
It isn't the chin it's the brutal shots they take because they lost their other skills like agility, timing and speed (to block/parry).
Did you see the shots Foreman was taking from Moore? It was a straight up beat down. I remember feeling bad for Foreman until he dropped Moore.
As far as Toney and Jones, I give them both credit for going up to Heavy. If we are going to compare "the Snuggler" against "the Relic". I give Toney more credit cause Holyfield used to be that dude. Plus I always thought Toney had more true boxing talent than Roy.

.
The few times B-hop has lost it is usually because of the very slow start. He dominated the second half of the fight and had the momentum but he gave away a lot early rounds in the first fight. Though I still think he beat Jermaine(probably my personal bias coming into play) but it could have gone either way.
I like to say "Math beat Bernard Hopkins more than Jermain Taylor".

You forgot Corey Spinks on the list of flat out wins by Taylor. The Wright draw, I thought, was the right call.
I was feeling for George too until Moorer went down. It was just brutal and then POW! Moorer goes to sleep.
Holyfield was that dude but he wasn't even close when James Toney beat him. I like James and he's a HoF'er as well but I give more credit for Roy moving up and dominating Ruiz than James doing the same to Holyfield after Evander had lost to Ruiz.
I hate to say this cause I like Toney as a fighter, but dude didn't gain any form of power at heavy. Toney would have still beating him though.
Holyfield was and is past his prime. That's a toss up.
agreed with the rest.

Calzaghe spanked him though I cant lie. Hop couldnt handle the punch volume.
But was 34 when Tarver exposed him... I think it was always there..he was just too damn fast to get hit. Yo.. RJJ is lights out when he gets hit flush
I agree completely, but who knows if Calzaghe fought Roy or Hopkins 5-6 years prior what would have happened.
After watching both twice I really cant see a different result for Hopkins. He couldnt handle that volume period, his defense isnt based on speed, its technique...Roy on the other hand his problem was he couldnt get out the fucking way like he used to, so maybe he woulda beat Joe. I just think Joe was a terrible matchup for Hopkins.
In boxing, that's winning the round. One was aggressive and the other wasn't.Jermain really didn't win those early rounds. Those rounds were given to him because of his aggression. My argument is that Jermain was more aggressive but he wasn't landing shots, similar to the Wright robbery.
What I was saying is that Post Hopkins, Jermain only has two victories (Lacy and Ouma). Every other fight should have been a L for Jermain.
Holyfield was way past his prime by the time Toney stepped up, but Ruiz never had a prime. I hate bitch made snuggling mother fucker.
