Jones-Hopkins II ruined: Green raids the party with a knockout

I doubt seriously he would've beaten Toney at heavy. Roy looked small against Ruiz, who is one of the worst heavyweight champs ever. James utterly destroyed and ko'd a living legend like Holy. James skill set was always greater than Roy's, Roy just had blazing speed, once he lost that, the fighter beneath that got exposed.

I get jumped on for saying that...i have always said it and knew it would happen. Ive always said that once Jones lost the superhuman speed, all of his major flaws would be exposed. His fucking defensive tactics are fucking horrible... it would leave 99 percent of fighters getting KO ever fight but he was able to get away with it because of speed and reflexes.. once that was gone.. his lack of REAL defensive capability was exposed...his lack of chin was exposed...and honestly.he lack of heart.. his third fight against Tarver showed that he truly had no heard...he fought that entire fight solely NOT to get KOd :smh:

I haven't read the other comments in here yet, but that TKO looked suspect to me. I agree with Hopkins... The ref should have let it go, with just a few seconds to go in the round.

The way that nigga flopped around on the floor with that knockdown only showed that it was a matter of time:smh::smh:. He never clear his head and he wasn't fighting back. I don't blame the ref.

True dat, and anyone who's seen Green fight knows that dude can PUNCH. Even a grazing shot(which is what that was) from homie can do some serious damage. Roy needs to give it up before he ends up like Meldrick Taylor or Wilfred Benitez.

Good thing the ref stopped it so he didn't go out like this,

After all these years I couldnt stop rollin...:lol::lol:

I think he was trying to let it go... but Jones wasnt helping.. he didnt throw ONE punch..he basically turned himself into a punching bag :smh:

I feel that, but for all of the punches Green was throwing, he wasn't landing anything. Roy likely would've have gotten TKO'd or KO'd later anyway, but Green didn't exactly stop stop him. Oh, well... Fuck it. RJJ had no business in the ring in the first place. There was just NOOOOOOOO way he could have ever come back from this...

Crazy thing is I'm a huge boxing fan and didn't even know about this fight... I remember Jones pushing for it after one of this fights but it fell off my radar after that.

I would agree more if roy attempted to punch or at least move out the way.

:lol:I don't even know what they were saying but as soon as the camera panned to homie u know they were giggin on him.:lol::lol:

Man, right at the 1:55 mark when the big punch lands, that dude's left leg kicking up in the air has me screaming.

:lol::lol:Yo I hadn't even peeped that until you mentioned it. When it happened, one of them commentators did the Muttley laugh:lol::lol:

classic

wtf? what fight is this?:lol::lol::lol:

The classic USA Tuesday Night Fights of the 80's & 90's.

The guy with the extreme mullet was from NC. He won a few ToughMan fights and thought it would be easy for him to transition to professional boxing.

He's nowhere near as skilled as the immortal GOAT Edward Rackley.

This is what happens when a nicca spend his whole career trying not to get hit or take a shot, he doesn't know what will happen to him or how he's gonna react when it happens. Point blank this shit happens to a lot of fast fighters when they lose their speed and hang around too long. I hope Floyd never hangs around this long, that dude's never been hit flush. I swear if he gets caught by a huge shot it'll be Tarver/Jones all over again. Then again Floyd, if he sticks around long enough will be a fighter similar to Hopkins, so maybe not. Anyway, :smh:

Mayweather has been hit flush. He got rocked by DeMarcus Corley. It's a good thing that he's the nephew and not the son of Roger Mayweather. Roger eyes used to get glassy in sparring with stiff jabs. He's got a real small cranium.

Roy seriously needs to sit his ass down before he end up like Meldrick Taylor.I mean dude speed is definetly gone and he has nothing to prove by still fighting at his point. So sad to see dude like this.

Even though the Ref stop the fight to early......:smh::smh::smh: it's clear to see this dude doesn't have the fight in him no more. He's done.:yes:

The ref did not stop the fight too early.

You have to ALWAYS defend yourself.

Roy did not throw a single punch after he got up.

The ref split them up giving Roy a second chance and still Roy threw no punches.

Fight over!

ah man... Jermaine Taylor :smh::angry:
Jermain didn't fall as hard because he was never as high. Roy's an alltimer who should have stopped years ago.

That's utterly untrue. If you had a strong jaw at 20, you will always have a strong jaw. First thing to go is your legs, Roy lost his a long time ago. Your power and your jaw will always be with you. I always said Roy was a fraud tho.

The list of guys who didn't go out counting the lights is shorter than the guys who did. Foreman is an exception and that was due far more to his size and power something he had in excess as he got old. For every George, there's a Erik Morales or Oscar De La Hoya or even Holyfield. Most fighters lose, not the ability to take the punch, but the ability to see it coming. It's the ones that they don't see that turn the lights out.

I know you are not giving James Toney credit for beating old ass Evander while shitting on Roy for beating sorry ass John Ruiz after Ruiz beat Holyfield. Come on, merce. I know you don't like Roy but damn.

We're talking about the same Roy Jones? The guy who never wanted to fight James Toney until he couldn't make weight at 168 anymore drain himslef and then never gave him a rematch. The same guy who fought 20 cab drivers in a row? The same guy who moved up in weight to fight John "i need a hug" Ruiz instead of fighting Holyfield(like Toney did). The same guy who when all his older contemporaries were whuppin young ass, was getting ko'd? Yeah, all-time great. I thought it was so fitting that while Roy was going downhill with no brakes, James was having a renaissance and winning the cruiserweight and heavyweight titles in a couple years. James Toney > Roy Jones. Forget B-Hop, Roy wanted NO part of James once they got older. James would've embarassed that ass and stuck his tongue out at Roy while Jones was hitting the canvas.

Man STOP THE WHOLE THREAD.....EVERYBODY SHOULD READ THIS MANS POST RIGHT HERE...

I swear I used to get so tired of cats with this "Roy was a great"....People talk about Floyd.....well who the fuck did Roy beat? I mean lets be serious John Ruiz:lol: Yeah I guess the "accomplishment" was rare so I guess that was the lore. And to dude that said there were more fights at Heavy....no there werent. He wouldnt have been able to handle Toneys power at heavy, Holyfield, Klitschko's...none of that. And then you said Tyson? LOL.....That man was knocked unconcious by a cruiserweight, what the fuck do you think a Mike Tyson left hook or uppercut would have done to Roy?
