Does Parks have a history of doing this consistently? Ive heard him speak high level, but never or rarely a true focus on who did what. If not, I stand by my stance that he's following Joe per the norm. Flip does the same type of shit.
Its not the same. As a whole, the Hip-hop community looks down on getting assistance with writing lyrics. It doesn't matter that its not the 90s because most artists still claim to live by the rule regardless of what they may do behind the scenes. One of the biggest arguments against Drake is he didn't write all of his lyrics. I don't recall Joe trying to have this in-depth who wrote what talking points with him. The only thing close was saying JCole out rapped him and he said the same about Yachty. If people don't speak on it, deny it or attach shame to it, it's fair to say it not respected. If you acknowledge it's not respected and you attach it to an artist (Cardi), one can make the argument that you are slighting the artist. She isnt wrong for taking it as disrespect from Joe.
In my opinion, this is Joe's way at going at Cardi. Personally, instead of pretending you love her, just give your honesty opinion on her as a whole. He doesn't because he doesn't want to deal with the backlash. However, he'll do things like this to get attention. The same with speaking on Drake. Mentioning artist who you know are likely to respond is a way of driving traffic and Joe has acknowledged he does this. He can't outright go at her because it would be a bad look with him being a man. Even if someone steps to him, he can say he never disrespected her and it's true. That doesn't mean he isn't taking soft shots at her.
I didn't watch the whole segment.Did he even mention any artist by name? Id respect Joe more if he said "enough Cardi. We all know you don't wrote or you get a lot of help" . If your return is, we don't know who wrote what, then you should shut the fuck up. You're basically saying it's a possibility that Cardi did write it, so why make the call out to begin with.
