Joe Budden podcast done? No Rory or Mal for 2nd straight episode

I know this is old but I just got finished watching this compilation of them going through the Kendrick vs. Drake battle. A few observations:

1. If Joe wasn't a podcaster, he would be a great pastor. The way he starts calm and then gets hype..dude was sweating amd everything.

2. Im so glad Marc is up there now. Watching Ish sit there and pout and just look pathetic was sad. At least we know would be Baghdad Bob up there and trashing Kendrick. If you not gonna contribute to the convo then just excuse yourself or don't show up. It's like going to a restaurant with a bunch of friends and not eating anything. Makes things awkward. If you dont like the music, give a reason why. You smarter than everyone else right so you should be able to articulate your position.

Exactly what has your blood boiling? Im making assumptions on your point, but i didn't take him to be saying Joe was somehow an innovator and he was speaking to a particular demo ;content creators. End of the day, im guessing people are fearful of putting their content behind paywalls, are too reliant on sponsors or the major platforms like YouTube.

To me, Joe kind of started from the bottom and built a loyal fanbase, but he still had a head start over the average content creator because of his Rap/tv career. Still i wouldn't act as though Joe was exactly respected in the early days and clearly built a fan base beyond his rap days. Yes, he's taken deals like Prizes Picks and Spotify, but he didn't go the Charlemagne route of having an iHeart like support ( nothing wrong with that path). Seemingly, he would be the example to people who want to enter the general space of content creation especially when the industry labeled him a fuck up. Losing or walking away from the Spotify deal was a prime example of people believing Joe should have happily taken the deal offered, was fucking up again and overvalued himself. Joe has proven he was right to bet on himself and his platform was being undervalued. I believe that was the higher point he was trying to get across; not necessarily Joe was the first of his kind.

I don't believe you are really aiming your comments at Joe specifically. However, what is the issue with a Blackman acknowledging another Black man's successful path and telling others to have faith they can do it too? Even though this also came of like an ad to a competiting platform to Patreon. Again, if you really meant was you aren't a fan of Black people started everything mindset, im not particularly a fan of that myself, but im not taking the clip as that.

Just find the model that works for your business and it will be successful!! Joe nor any other content creator hasnt shown the way!! the way has already been shown!! Aint nothing new under the sun. We as a people always try to get deep with shit!! Just do it and make it happen or dont!! Mofos be like oh now I see the way when the way has been there for hundreds of years...

Im going to disagree. Something preexisting doesn't mean someone can't show you a path to better use the tool or people are even aware of it existing. You aren't born with the knowledge. You have to attain it from somewhere. There could have been someone unaware or fearful of the subscription method. Seeing Joe Rogen being successful may be written off as being a White man, so the person never even looks into it. Seeing Joe Budden who shares a similar background to you may inspire you to look into the path more.

When I starred showing the rewards for investing, people around me attempting to do the same. To your point, investing wasn't anything new. However, they didn't know anyone who was successfully and most had no clue how to start. My success gave them confidence to try. That's all the guy was saying. Joe showed you it was possible. He didn't say he was the first or only one. He simply used him as the example for people to follow.

You don't just hop out of bed and decide i want to be an electrician. Maybe you take on an apprenticeship or have a mentor after formal schooling. That same person could show you the business side of that industry. You may not have even known a particular trade existed or you assumed a formal higher level education was required to enter the field. Either way, you are being shown the way and this could occur indirectly without ever meeting the person.

Def Jam existed before Roc Fella. Does that mean people can't be influenced by Jay and Dame just because Russell already did it? Does Russell get invalidated because music labels as a whole already existed? Mp3 players already existed before Apple released the iPod. I don't think it's crazy to say Apple inspired or innovated that space even though the underlying technology wasn't new.

At face value, i really did take it as a soft advertisement using a successful person in the space to on-board more users. If anything, that is the bigger issue for me. The claim was never Joe was showing you something new. It was showing you it's possible if you are take risk, create good consistent content and build over time.

Elon Musk is seen as a genius. Joe Rogen is seen as a genius. I personally don't agree, but why do we as Black people quickly right off successful Black people as nothing special or try to belittle their accomplishments?

a subscription is a subscription; its all the same shit!! A subscription is not a subscription by the way you are generically using the term. That is the point you are missing. In the clip, one can assume he is speaking to content creators who rely on people watching their content on a free tier. The content creator will be paid a standard rate. Someone can correct if im mistaken, but i don't even believe you are paid for viewership alone, they need people to officially subscribe to their channel. Placing your content behind a paywall is treating your content like a premium product. You charge a rate of your choosing knowing your audience is willing to pay your set price.

By your logic, all I would need to do is watch a YouTuber's content and it's all the same, yet they'll constantly ask you to like and officially subscribe to their channel. Not only is it a reason for that but clearly it requires a skill beyond just making quality content. Again, based on the clip im assuming the thought of placing your content behind a paywall is seen as potentially detrimental to your income or growth as a channel. Obviously, you risk less viewership compared to having public content. However, your audience clearly will sustain longer and you can adjust the cost of your content for the lower viewer/audience numbers.

At no point did anyone say something new was created. The person simply used Joe as an example to encourage others to go down a similar path while promoting another platform for content creators. He probably doesn't really put Joe in high regard. He was seemingly using Joe's success as bait to market to other content creators.

You totally missed the point and went off on a tangent. He was talking about being independent and speaking to creators while promoting his own product.

its blocked what was it

It was the entire clip about ten minutes long of her being upset at Marc for going at her on the show and them clamming and not being explain herself up when Marc asked for specifics. Those clips weren't as bad as the entire segment. She gets upset and screams at Flip at one point. It was some sort of weird tantrum.

The entire time the dollar signs were going through Joe's head and he was cracking jokes about having to make another patreon tier, while saying he can't wait to post it.

It wasn't a good look for Mel at all. I can see why she didn't want it posted, but Marc said a couple of times we can have this discussion off, but for some reason she continued.

Mel has pretty privilege and she's used to getting her way. She's not used to people challenging her. The did I do something to you seemed mad random and wasn't even going along with the conversation.

Damn. It was a clip of Mel going at with Marc it got very personal and heated EVERYONE got pulled in it went from calm to tense to jokes to heated to personal to emotional to we gotta cut this or go to patreon. Apparently it was cut or edited and leaked.

Sidebar: if when things go "bad" the first reaction is not to stop but go to a paid tier? These are not serious people and another reason I dont really follow this sh*t.
