I don't know the guys you are talking about - the worst I hear is claims of not being like black americans - I have yet to meet a jamaican that doesn't think he is of african decent
I only know of that ignorance from latinos of african decent

I give old ass island dudes a pass with all that because I saw how bullied they were growing up and I mean BULLIED for not being "born here" so I get that. ITs time to get over that.
that sh*t BEEN played out. We seen TOO MANY Black men women and children slaughtered out here by this government to to have that same sentiment in 2025.
Bad enough we surrounded by all these coons and negativity pimps making pennies off our pain.

Listen, if them niggas say they aint black then fuckem!! Black aint a race its a term that applies to all people of color regardless of what country we come from; so i aint rocking with niggas who say that; and ICE gives that; a type of nigga that would say that dumb shit...
He lists his bday as June 19th so he was between 7 and 9 when it was released.
IIRC, he stated Jay-Z was his introduction to hip hop, I don't recall the album.
I say all that to preface my introduction to hiphip. I had an older brother that was listening to Easy-E, Pac, Biggie, NWA, Too Short, Geto Boys, Luke/2 Live... but mainly a lot of west coast hip hop andj ust some east coast stuff, but the raunchy lyrics of the west coast really stood out in my memory.
(That mfkr had a lot of R&B as well). This was probably around 93/94 because I remember him getting Doggystyle and my mom and dad yelling at him for playing it while I was there. So I was 10/11ish
A few years later, I'm thinking fall '96 or possibly as late as Spring '96, I then found a CD Player and 96 ct CD Wallet (that was almost full) that was left on the school bus. There was Outkast, UGK, Nas, JayZ, Snoop, more Pac, Onyx, (I know I'm forgetting A LOT!) some R&B stuff.
(*Aye peace to whoever lost it, fam, it didn't go to waste. I didn't just sell ya shit. It expanded my music horizons for real.)
For me back then, as an "inside" kid, I wasn't the biggest fan of Nas. No shade to him. I give him all the respect as a lyricist and everything..... but the beats didn't move me, the lyrics didn't stick into my mind. There was just something about Outkast, Pac, Big, Luke, NWA, Scarface..... that shit I have all the nostalgia in the world for even though some of it has aged terribly. I later bought Jay Reasonable Doubt, wild I bought that myself at 13/14 yrs old.
So, I can relate to how Ice may feel in regards to Nas. Even though he tried to clean up his comments, he didn't really explain it the best.
