Im not fully familiar with Flip's back story, so i took it as he was in the streets on some level in the past. Something related to that lifestyle got his man killed.
If that's the case, yes he still has a way to go based on recent events of fighting or arguing in the streets. However, he has at least moved away from being actively in the streets. He's surrounded himself around people who seemingly will hold him accountable and introduce him to new ways of thinking. On the surface that is growth.
