iphone 6 vs galaxy s5 camera side by side

Ummmm Yes I did watch the video and it's very clear to me. It comes down to personal preference. I think the Samsungs colors were bland. This is my preference... If you think differently by all means buy the phone that you like best.

If it comes down to personal preference. Then that must mean it must be a close competition, not "It's pretty clear...The iPhone's camera rapes the Samsung camera"........but everyone is entitled to their opinion.:lol::lol::lol::smh::smh::smh::smh:

Apple iPhone 6 vs. Samsung Galaxy S5 Photo Shootout: Why Megapixels Mean Nothing

Apple arch-rival Samsung includes a 16-megapixel camera in its Galaxy S5 phone. The main camera on the latest upgrades to the iPhone line still has just 8 megapixels. Yet the images from both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are the best I’ve tested on a phone to date.

The iPhone 6 takes panorama photos in higher resolution now, and in general takes better pictures than any smartphone I’ve ever used.

Those are reviews from paid Apple spokesmen.....take them with a grain of salt...

iphone won the front facing camera....seems the s5 wins at the rest

^This is where I'm at with it. That's basically what I expected though. iPhone seems to be more concerned with the selfie game with this model. I'm expecting that the iPhone 6s & 6s Plus will upgrade to 16mp on, and add 4k video. Of course that might not be added until the iPhone 7.

Unless you are Steve Austin and have a bionic eye, your eye cannot tell the difference between 1080 and 4k video on a big screen television, much less in a smartphone.

At 1080, the individual pixels are already smaller than your eye can see unless you sit right up against the screen.

These companies are taking advantage of people's love of spec numbers to steal money from them.

First mp are not a big thing , but if apple had more it would be.. Next there is reasons why they are going out of their way trying to compare the apple 6 to the galaxy and not the note 4..
The note 4 curb stomps the iphone in just about every statistical spec known to mankind.

I think its dynamic. They both have their better sides depending on the environment, lighting and colors.

I think you're right about what the companies are doing. But I went by my neighbor and looked a bit of Avatar on his 4k and it looked way better than it does on my 1080p, to me. I add to me, because maybe you're right, and maybe I just wanted/expected it to. Football seems to look better on it too. Of course his TV is 70" and mine is 42", so that, coupled with my excitement at the larger screen may have a lot to do with it. I will have to really give it a more discerning look... when we watch the game tomorrow.

On paper or actual performance?

On paper or actual performance?

There is no way a dual core 2ghz processor with only a gig of ram is going to remotly stand up to one that is quad 2.7ghz and three gigs of ram...
The way iphones are able to obtain certain benchmark scores is that they usually do good on things that don't require too many things running at once, like drawing lines with out texture, or crunching raw numbers...
That would be like saying a honda is faster than a Lamborghini because it can move faster in a tight circle..
Here is a heads up spec sheet between the two phones..
http://www.gizmag.com/galaxy-note-4-vs-iphone-6-plus/33791/

One thing to note, that is the Note 4 is actually has a 64 bit processor Octa-Core Exynos 5433 but wont be unleashed until Andriod L drops.. But it is capable of moving back an forth 32 to 64 bit mode mainly as a way to save power when needed..

And case yall wondering why the note 4 needs that much power under the hood (almost twice the power of an Iphone 6) and such high resolution that some of you cats think dont make a difference..
They are ready to really change up the game..

When I made that comment I had seen the beginning of the video when he was outside filming the roses and shit. To me it was clear that the iPhone's camera was more vibrant. Once I read your post asking if I had seen the video I went back and fast forwarded to different parts of the review and saw the indoor comparisons as well as the low light, etc... I personally like the iPhone's camera indoors etc, but that would be a matter of preference... I still think the outdoor video is an easy win for the ipohone 6... I'm also impartial... I'm not an apple fan boy nor am android groupie...

Only thing you're partial to are dirty ass apartments and trying to get dick pics right Tiny Tina???

Yeah the dudes from the Verge are notorious fan boys. They're not as blatant as BGR.com but they're a damn close second.

I have a 55" 4K 3D Samsung TV...

EVERY FUCKING THING LOOKS BETTER ON IT!!!

While in the store before I bought it, they were showing Avatar on one of the 4K TVs. My jaw was literally on the ground  amazed at how beautiful, and way more enhanced the picture was

If you want to be blown away, go on Netflix, and watch some of their 4K videos. They have some 4K videos of the Forest, Ocean, and others too. Amazing!!!

The Samsung Galaxy S5 wins this comparison IMHO. Why do I think that
IPhone is doing catchup, and does not fully succeed? It is boasting about
getting features those of us who have Galaxy devices have always had.
I am shocked that all this time, the primitive IPhones did not even have
the ability to default to Wifi when such is present. This is an automatic
feature of my Galaxy Mega, and as soon as I come into my home, it informs
me that all my connections (data and voice) will be over my Verizon wifi
(which is good because I think the T-Mobile data network is becoming
overloaded). For me the cell phone is still a device for voice communication,
and I am appalled at the quality of the IPhone sound in this video. Again,
I have never had an IPhone, and so perhaps I am biased...but it seems
to me that the Galaxy is the more practical device.

My observations:

Video/Audio - S5
Pictures (Front Facing camera) - iPhone 6/6+
Pictures (back facing) - S5

This is very interesting, Apple is able do more with less, the iPhone 6 has a 8MP camera with a dual core processor and 1GB of Ram, it's able to compete with a phone that has a 16MP camera with a Quad core and 3Gb Ram!!!

No true. The 16 Gig resolution refers to what the camera captures, not what the
phone displays. That said, the Galaxy has more information stored, and the evidence
of which would be shown were we try to try print pictures of increasing size from
from the files on the 16meg and 8meg pixels. Additionally, this comparison does
not take into account the relative setting contrast, hue, vibrancy etc, that the
Galaxy (and I am sure Apple) phones have, which enable a person adjust the
many aspects of the captured imagery. On the question of the image quality, the
jury is still out because whatever we are seeing from Apple may be nothing more
more preferrable default settings. We would need someone who had the patience
to reset the image quality of a Galaxy to see if Apple retained this advantage after
he had adjusted the image settings of the Galaxy..

The thing that should bother you is the primitive feature set of the IPhone. How
the fuck does ANY device still have monosound in this day and age? And why the
fuck did it take this long for the fucking device to get predictive typing? This is the
least of what I know but it is evident that the IPhone has been inferior, and probably
still is inferior to Galaxy family of phones.

So I used to be the guy who didn't really care about cameras on my phone and would literally have a new phone every 5 to 6 months. I have a little one on the way and all of a sudden the camera on my phone became a huge deal. I bought the Xperia z2 online and have been converted to the Xperia line. The z3 will be coming out this fall and I will be jumping on that because Sony releases their line every 6 months. The pictures are amazing and I rarely utilize the 20 megapixels available. The 4k video recording is legit and access to the camera is quick. My wife bought the iphone 6 a couple of days ago and the camera seems okay. I've never really liked iPhone cameras because they really struggle in low light situations. I'll have to test hers out more.

Apple has always done well with the cameras in their phones. I'm an Android guy but so far no phone seems to do as good a job with pics as Apple.
