I officially have a problem with Chris Rock's movie "Good Hair"

I don't understand why everyone keeps talking about Oprah.

What I understood from the movie is they don't really focus much on black women being natural with their hair but more on weaves and all that crap not showing the benefits of being natural as opposed to using the chemical on their heads which is a shame because maybe then some women WOULD take a look at themselves as far as relaxers are concerned.

Thank you Mouse for getting it even though you started out saying you don't understand........

I don't know if black women could put down the relaxer and it has nothing to do with men

:smh::smh::smh:

From what I was reading it seems like the beef was with chicks getting weaves and perms. But as far as the movie goes I don't think it really goes into natural black women. What I thought you had a problem with was the fact there is a movie about black women with weaves and perms not why they aren't preaching becoming natural.

Nah,nah we are on the same page.

It makes no sense for a black woman with chemically relaxed hair to make fun of another black woman with weave.

That is why I mention Oprah. There she was laughing and tossing her head around for Chris Rock and talking about her hair is natural.
No your hair is not natural, your hair is real but it is not natural

I'm hoping it doesn't turn into a pointing-fest amongst black women.

I'm hoping it is not as shallow as to just make light of everything and leave it there.

My wish is to see more women go natural..........

Unless she has a perm now instead of it just being pressed her hair is still natural. A relaxer PERMANENTLY changes the hairs structure while just using a pressing comb yields temporary results unless heat damage is involved then you will end up with pieces that never curl up again. But like I said her wearing her hair straight with some curls on the ends is just another hairstyle we can do.

Listen, man they don't here you.

LESS talk, more action.

We continually put ourselves up for ridicule.

This movie wasn't about the economics of hair.

This movie wasn't about fashion demands.

This movie is about making fun of a problem all women have and zeroing in on the black woman who he perceives to be the weakest link.

Don't worry, shit will come back to him just like it did Chapelle.

After the damage is done and the money is made then comes the epiphany

Now that this Gabby shit is going on

:smh:
