I NEED A WATCH ( post ur choices)

A client wore this to my office today and I spent the whole time looking at it. Under $200

SL-10538-03.jpg

Nice.

Don't know if you decided yet, but just wanted to say you may take that orange monster talk with a grain of salt. On two separate occasions folks had me amped up to get that watch and thankfully I resisted. Then I realized that the watch has a cult-like following. It is still a good watch, but for about the same price you can get this, which has the exact same movement but in a much classier case.

I don't even own this watch, but I'm pretty sure it will be my next. I'm not trying to shit on monster fans, but that orange dial is not doing it at all for me. I just figured I'd offer an option. Also that president bracelet might not come stock.

Check out watchyouseek.com for good reviews and pics.

Damn, this thread has been going on for a while. In the last few months I've been getting into military and pilots watches lately. Looking at Sinn, B&R, Laco, & Lum-Tec.

Most recent pickups-
-none of these are my pics-

Hamilton Khaki Pilot 46mm:
ETA 2836-2, (hand wind auto, day/date) SS case, sapphire front, sapphire display screw-down case back, 200m wr, screw- down crown
H64425535.jpg

Picked up a couple of Lum-Tec watches, one pre-owned limited edition-

M7- tungsten carbide case and bracelet, makes the watch look EXTREMELY bling, but very heavy and exceptionally scratch resistant (I wear mine on leather) Japanese Seiko NH25A11J (SII) auto movement, sapphire front and rear. Great reverse-lume dial-

lumtec-m7-4.jpg

Glows like a torch at night or coming into a dark place from a light one. Lume lasts several hours (though it subsides significantly after about the first half hour/45 minutes)

2ah6wyf.jpg

Lum-Tec Super combat B2- picked this up at a huge discount- especially since the Swatch group is no longer selling ETA movements to independent companies, all the ETA- watches out there are going up in price (like 30+%)
Lucky to pick this one up at the price I did-
Titanium pvd case,
6489-1 hand wind movement, sapphire front + display back 100m wr, came with leather pilot strap, black nato and khaki nato. Looks sick on the khaki-

B2T-6.jpg

again, all lum-tec watches glow like lightning bugs!

Lume01.jpg

and I had posted about buying a bell&ross phantom- never picked up the phantom, but bought a BR01-92 used at a fantastic price. wearing it on the nylon- SS pvd case (46mm square) ETA 2892, (auto +handwind 3 hand movement) sapphire- not a bad piece and is really holding its value over the last year or so.

there was a time when 500.00 was the upper limit of my watch budget..... now...

I think I'm done for the rest of the year

What you got for his and her watches?

Invicta has a lot of "His and Hers" watches. But factor in that watches have gotten so big lately. I got my dad and his wife Invicta Diver watches this past holiday season. His (47mm) Hers (40mm) [Pop has a large wrist and she's a larger woman so that 40mm "mens" size works perfectly for her]. Both Automatics so they'll never need a battery. Both under $140. They LOVE them! It really depends on your price point.

I was going to buy the 36mm two tone date just back in 05 but it was too small so I got the submariner. I was in awe when I saw the new 41mm date just today. I need to work harder in the next 6 months.

Here's a pic of the exact one that I saw and want. It's now called the datejust ii

Picture is from eBay.

That fool on eBay is always selling some nice shit man!!

If I make some moves this year, I might even get the platinum one.

Bruh, on the real, just pick up a nice Seiko 5, Citizen, Victorinox Swiss Army, Hamilton, Even a nice used (vintage) joint before you go the replica route. Not my cup of tea, but you could even check out some of the Kors, Invicta or Swiss Legend in here. They aren't that expensive either.

Google replica watch forums and do some research, I'm sure someone will point you in the right direction. I've met plenty of businessmen who rocked replica watches, Breitlings seem to be the number one replica's.

Which ones i need a site. Thats the other thing most of the people who I know are millionaires actually rock replica's but BGOL ballers are too good for them. I have never been so impressed by a replica like the one i saw , i have heard stories of how certain replica's have fooled even the swiss watch manufacturers

Get yourself a Hamilton watch and be done. I have a Rolex and 2 brieltings, but I don't think i'll be spending that much money on watches anymore. I am starting to look at Hamilton watches and I am impressed with what I've seen so far.

I just don't understand the appeal of fake watches. When I look at the nice shit I have been fortunate enough to purchase it reminds me of the hard work I've put in to get it. It's a good feeling.

But to each his own.

Not trying to be an asshole but If you feel the need to save extra money to buy fake stuff, then maybe you should not be looking at luxury items. You should just concentrate on saving. Anybody with financial sense does not buy luxury goods until their saving account is adequate.

As for buying fake watches, you will just make yourself look like a loser amongst the so called millionaires that you mentioned above. Fake watches are obviously fake and low quality. There is NO millionaire who goes online and start looking for Rilex instead of Rolex:hmm:

These are replica's

And they don't tick tock. The chinese are next to geniuses when it comes to bootleging. Your lawyer friends in magic circle firms are rocking fake rolex's , who do you think put me onto them?

I am probably done buying watches for the year, but my next watch is probably Hamilton. I own a Pilot 46mm and Khaki King Scuba, and am looking to eventually add one or two more "Hammies" to my collection. IMO, they are one of the best "bang for the buck" values in their price range. Great movements, Fantastic design and detail, quality materials and a nice finish.

Some of the models I'm personally interested in;

Pan Europ
Hamilton-Hamilton-Pan-Europ-_6027.jpg

The blue dial is a Limited Edition- 1971 were made (after the original year of release) and are LONG gone. A new silver dial and black dial versions are now available.

Jazzmaster Maestro

I know, an IWC Portuguese look-alike, but a fantastic design, and the other Jazzmaster models in this line are just as captivating.

Navy Pioneer

Classic look and lines.

also loving the X-wind

*** As for the whole replica thing- I guess there are people who will buy them- that's why there are people who make them.... to each their own- I think it says more about who a person is on the INSIDE if they feel the need to rock a fake ANYTHING. There is shit in this world that I just cannot afford. I would LOVE to be able to afford an IWC Top Gun Miramar, but I ain't got it like that. I have to accept that and do what I can do- but I would rather rock a legit vintage Omega or something than to fake the funk.... but hey... :dunno: do you bro

I wasn't knocking you man. I was just saying it's not worth it. There are better real swiss watches that cost less that will satisfy you better than a replica.

BTW, many lawyers will buy a used/refurbished one before they touch a replica, because they know better.

Yeah, the Bell & Ross "look" is one that a LOT of houses are imitating- not so much the square case, but the whole military look of the dial. Many people say they copied the look from sinn, but Bruno Belamich actually worked for Sinn- and that distinctive 12/3/6/9 dial with the hashes at the 5 minutes and one minute indices was his design.

The BR01-92 phantom was a little out of my budget, but I got the original 01-92 at a fantastic price. Since the brand is relatively young, I'm kind of banking on the piece appreciating over the years, and eventually I will pass this one down to my son- though it's by no means gathering dust in my watch box.

if you like that military look, check out Lum-Tec, I'm really high on them right now.

I know what you mean. It's difficult to decide on what "hobby" to put money into-

Especially when there are other bills, savings, family etc to consider.

Just to keep it going though,

I bought this cause I couldn't afford the B&R phantom. ~130.00 @ amazon--

I don't have this version, but a lot of cats on the watch forum I frequent love it

That is really nice. It looks like one of the Jazzmaster line. I love the font they use for the numbers. That one is quartz, right?

If you don't mind closeouts, 1saleaday.com usually posts a different watch each day. Just check reviews before you purchase. Locally TJ Max and Marshall's carry discounted merchandise.

Yes, it's quartz but I will gladly pay $1k for an auto but that watch does not come in auto:(
The font is like the one on IWC Potugese:yes:
