How much does a suit cost?

thats a good price. did that include alterations and a shirt and tie?

mens warehouse has a buy one get 2 free sale

I just spent $375 at Jos S Banks and I feel like I got ripped off.:hmm:

Shit man......that's cheap for a suit. I guess it depends on the brand you get but them shits can cost all the way up 3 or 4 stacks.....

Suits are very expensive. You can bargain shop and get one at like K&G's or some shit like that and get it cheaper but yea 375 isn't outrageous.

Ya like everyone else says they are expensive. I had to get one ASAP and I hit up the van hussen store at the outlet mall and got a suit tie and shirt for under 200. They had a big sale that day. I lucked out.

Included alterations but no shirt and tie, or shoes. Shit, I might return it and just go buy some off-the-rack shit! I wish S & K was still in business.

I usually don't do this...but the 65% Polo code treated me so lovely

If anyone is in the bay, hit up Jeremy's in San Francisco near 3rd street. Wait for the sale, thank me later. I got a pair of Ferragamo bit loafer for $90. My pops has been shopping there since 1990 and we were getting Armani suits for $150. Just gotta catch a sale now.

Thats not bad like everyone said above. Long as they altered it for you and it fits you right.

I never owned a suit until a couple years ago. This man I met put it into perspective for me. He said:

" People spend money on what they want with out thinking nothing of it, You have had four pairs of Jordan's since I known you, $200 a piece, sacrifice 2pair and buy a damn suit"

Long story short I spent $320 on a tailored sean John 3 piece.

No keep the suit and get the alterations. You can really see the difference in how it fits vs something off the rack. Quality alterations can make a cheap suit look like a great suit.

At $375, you didn't get completely bent over with no Vaseline. Did you walk out the store with the suit for $375 or do they have to do alterations. You're more than likely going to have to drop another $25 or more for alterations if you didn't walk out with the suit. Men's Warehouse recently acquired Joseph A. Bank (maybe a month ago) so they are basically the same company now.

What is the suit for (how often will you likely wear it)? There are cheaper alternatives, but if you're going to wear the suit a number of times it may be worth it to get a suit that will look good for a long time.

If that's for 1 suit from there you just got played

Jos A. Bank is known for 3 for 1 suit deals... That should have gotten you at least two suits from them

Off the Rack (you may need to take to tailor for alterations): $100-$2000

Made to Measure (there's a suit template but they tailor it to you): $500-$3000

Bespoke (fully made from hand just for you): $2500+

Lmbaoooo ebay for suits. Man when will niggas learn not to ask bgol about fashion advice. Ebay lmbaaaooooooooo

Without knowing the material stitching etc. it's hard to say.

I have bought high quality suits at Syms (before they closed down) from $250-$800. I don't look at the price tag when I'm buying a suit. I first look at the material. Depending on the season obviously I'm going for different materials. It's easy to tell you only have one suit when your wearing a cotton suit in the winter or a wool suit in the summer. Then the texture the feel of the material the look in different lights. Will it be a daytime suit a nighttime suit. All these factors come into play. If your a newbie to buying suits you really need to go with someone who knows to school you to the game. I have never bought suits from Men's Wherehouse , Nordstroms, Macy's. I have bought a couple of blazers from Nordtroms and Macy's but no suits. In my opinion they sell basically Sunday suits. Suits for guys that wear suits once a week. Guys that wear suits everyday are looking for something different. Quality material look feel these are the important things after that I look at the pricetag and determine if it's worth it.

Not true. The jos a banks sale is actually:
Buy one suit for about $800 and get two for free or
Buy one suit for the sale price of $275

I wear a suit everyday for work and i've never paid more than a hundred and some odd bucks...family members have bought me suits and I know they probably paid a couple hundred for them....I just take my shit to the tailor after i buy off the rack and have it altered for me. if your not going to wear that suit regularly the investment might not make much sense marshalls and other department stores have some really nice designer suits for the low grab one and take it to your tailor.

Jos A Banks must be thinking they are more than what they are... A poster said it above... Go to Syms in NYC or another similar store that sells suits at discounts. You can come away with a better suit than Jos A Banks for that money...

Yeah, that's what mine was. Originally $900 or so but going for $375.

What suit store you know drops price by 70%

But as another poster said above, you care about suits more if you wear them daily as opposed to once in a while, or just at church on sundays...

But seriously $400 for a fully fitted suit isn't bad... Next time you might as well get a Made to Measure (MTM) suit for $500... Those things make you feel like a million bucks. It's not the name brand of the suit, it's how it fits on your body anyway--so you're good OP

When I was younger, I would spend a grip on a suit. Now, materials are better even synthetic materials, and I don't spend anywhere near as much. In the end, it is all about the tailor. A good tailor can make an inexpensive suit look expensive. My last suit cost $130 (Calvin Klein) from Macy's. It was on closeout. Look great. Tailored to perfection.

listen to this man...

Jos A. Banks on that bullshit... but they do have some nice ass dresshirts...those i still buy there..

its all about the tailor.... i learned the hard way

Jos A Bank gives away 2free suits for that price. They were having sales on top of sales and honoring discounts on both sales one time gone. You only got robbed because it wuzn't sales season. That's like getting shirts at JC Penny that aren't on sale because that shit is always on sale.

If you went to something like K&G you could have gotten a cheaper one, but it's lower quality that will probably look like shit in a year if you wear it a lot. Some of the styles are bama too.

If you were buying for easter though, probably should have did it a few weeks ago. Everything's going up in price now that it's last minute.

Marshalls and Macy's have some good suits for the price. I usually go to Nordstrom or Bloomingdale's during friends and family for my suits. If you have to wear one everyday, I would suggest getting something that will stand the test of time. You should be okay with the Jos A Bank suit for that price. I'm sure that alterations were included.
