Houston super lawyer Tony Buzbee sues Deshaun Watson

This is all by design. They want the settlement.
How is a civil litigator like Buzbee going to "open" a federal criminal investigation?

3 weeks ago he lied about being contacted by the police.

After that, he missed his own deadline for submitting evidence to the police. (again, not how this works)

About a week ago he claimed he couldn't trust the police.
I don't care if it was a 100 hoes, innocent until proven guilty.

I really think Buzbee fucked up on this one. The only way Watson can clear his name now is to actually take each case to trial which is also the one thing Buzbee doesn't want. He can allege whatever he wants now but a trial has rules for discovery and depositions etc. If Watson was assaulting thots, that will be revealed. If thots were selling services on instagram that will also be revealed. Buzbee has been tap dancing about the police for weeks now and I guarantee you that he is about to start tap dancing about a trial being unfair. He already implied that the Houston Police were corrupt. :smh:

She said his “Anus”

I spoke to a brother who was an agent when I visited L.A last week and he told me these teams know EVERYTHING about a player. . It’s not out the norm for them to know what Watson was doing before shit got out to the public.

100%. I think we both said this same shit a few weeks back too.

Other teams had private investigators on OBJ when he was with the Giants to make sure that the rumors about partying/drug use weren't true before they potentially traded for him. :smh:

Well this is an abnormal situation, just because something isn't the norm doesn't mean that it doesn't happen.

Precisely. It is an obvious money grab. They were going for a preponderance of evidence trial opposed to beyond a reasonable doubt.

WTF? She ain’t never seen a dick? Is she a Nun?

Is she the one that got slashed in the face by the “Magic Nutter”?

Why the fuck she acting like that?

He asked you to touch his dick, not give him a heart transplant!

giphy.gif
I looked at this and wondered how Gloria Allred was not involved. I know that bitch is mad af, plus Buzbee is using HER playbook.
Got this bitch pretending to be all traumatized and shit. :hmm:

i could see if she was the one that said he forced her to give him oral sex but I think she’s one of the ones that said he moved his body in a way that made his penis touch her hand and then she ended the session. This broad must wants to be a actress, She didn’t go to the cops instead she asked for $100,000

very interesting and so far plausible.

You don't understand. It is easy to call the police on Black men when they are mowing grass, jogging, hiking, shopping or doing any number of mundane, non-criminal things. It takes a brave woman to call the police on a Black man who has committed a crime. :smh:

I'm all about logic. Either he's a criminal & should be punished for his crimes. Or he's not & you just want money.

Getting money shouldn't be option A if you truly believe this man is a serial sexual assaulter.

I can see going after his wallet after you've thrown his ass in jail. But so far they don't care if he assaults anyone else.

As long as the bag is in their purses. That's why the lawsuits seem fishy to me & I'll wait for the conclusion to decide.

Regardless, I believe his reputation is in the trash win or lose. Perception is reality & he's toast in the eyes of the public.

The Texans are fools. If they knew about this behavior & didn't immediately trade him for 3 1st round picks as soon as possible, what idiots.

How does this benefit the organization with no 1st round pick, a journeyman backup & no cap space? Texans overplayed their hand.

I KEEP being told this is some sort of victim shaming if you say this

but I have YET to have someone give me a REASONABLE explanation on how that is.

It is NOT like you can't do BOTH!

and WHY would you NOT want to do BOTH?

I think it's larger than the settlement, I think Deshaun was a bad Negro for wanting to be free from the Texans and the owner of the Texans made him pay for it. It's the "if I can't have him then I'll dirty him up a bit or just completely destroy him."

This right here. The league is showing what they do to Black men that even think about trying to control.

This is going to cost him a year in the league and easily 10-20million in long term lost earnings. Tough shakedown lesson.

Think about what you know about the rules for discovery etc. During a trial, a thot can't just simply hide texts, emails etc. because they would be damaging or even exculpatory like they are doing now outside of court. Think about the Derrick Rose trial and what came out during the trial :smh: :smh:  Fear of discovery is one of the main reasons you rarely see people communicate sensitive things via email/text in white collar settings. Thots are not aware of things like that and probably have texts that add "clarity' to this situation. Look at the Rose accuser texts. She honestly didn't think that the "court" would be able to see this shit...

I Thought that ever since the 1st woman came out!!

Completely misleading. We know her identity because she revealed her identity to advance her civil case. If she had reported the "assault" to the police and also filed a civil complaint against Watson and didn't want her identity known, it would have been reported like this:

Takeoff was sued last year by a woman, identified as Jane Doe, who claims that Takeoff raped her at a house party on June 23. In addition to sexual battery, false imprisonment, and assault, the woman is also suing the rapper for intentional infliction of emotional distress.

“Our client is disappointed in the decision of the Los Angeles County District Attorney, who has once again shown he is soft on crime and cares more about the rights of criminal defendants than victims of sexual assault. She looks forward to receiving the justice she deserves in her civil case.”

DESHAUN WATSON'S LAWYERCLAIMS ACCUSER #1 DEMANDED $100K IN 'HUSH MONEY'

Deshaun Watson's attorney claims accuser Ashley Solis -- who identified herself as "Jane Doe #1" on Tuesday -- demanded $100,000 in "hush money" before filing her lawsuit.
... and Watson's attorney claims he has the emails to prove it.
Solis was the first accuser to file a sexual misconduct lawsuit against the Houston Texans star back on March 16. She used a pseudonym to protect her identity.
She came forward in a news conference alongside her attorney Tony Buzbee on Tuesday and spelled out her case against Watson -- at one point explaining, "People say that I'm doing this just for money. That is false. I come forward now so that Deshaun Watson does not assault another woman."

But, Watson's attorney Rusty Hardin says this is absolutely about money -- claiming Buzbee approached one of Watson's reps back in February in an effort to "quietly settle the allegations the month before he filed the first lawsuit."
Hardin says he has emails sent by Buzbee associate Cornelia Brandfield-Harvey to one of Watson's representatives on Feb. 9 spelling out the demand.
"My client’s demand is $100,000" ... and ... "This offer remains open until Friday of this week."
Hardin claims Deshaun's representative pushed back against the demand in the following email response.
"We don’t believe that the alleged facts show that Deshaun did anything wrong with regards to Ms. Solis, but we are nevertheless happy to continue the conversation around a reasonable settlement figure because we believe he can learn a lesson about having put himself in this situation."
Buzbee's response to that ...
"We made a legit demand. You rejected it. We won’t be making another or bid against ourselves. We also won’t be having an extended dialogue about why you think your client did nothing wrong or how you want this to be a 'learning' experience for your 'high profile athlete,' as you refer to him. This is Houston, Texas. Perhaps you should find him a lawyer here so you can apprise both you and your client of the landscape here and who you are dealing with. Talk soon."
The lawsuit was ultimately filed on March 16 -- and 21 women have filed similar lawsuits against Watson since then.
As we previously reported, Watson's position remains that he did not do anything wrong and he has vowed to dig in and fight to clear his name.

Rusty Hardin says that Tony Buzbee and Ashley Solis lying when they said it isn’t about the money when it comes to Deshaun Watson.
Hardin speaks on how Buzbee sought out a $100k settlement to make everything go away, but Watson refused it.
Here is Hardin’s statement.
At a press conference today, attorney Anthony Buzbee introduced the first plaintiff to the media. She identified herself as Ashley Solis. In her remarks, Ms. Solis stated: “People say that I’m doing this just for money. That is false.”
Mr. Buzbee himself repeatedly claimed that the litigation he filed on behalf of other Jane Does “isn’t about money.” At his initial press conference on March 19 announcing the first wave of lawsuits, Mr. Buzbee stated: “The case ain’t about money. And it’s certainly ain’t about seeking publicity or fame. I personally don’t need it. And these women don’t want it. This case is about female empowerment.”
In fact, according to the documentation below, Mr. Buzbee sought $100,000 in hush money on behalf of Ms. Solis to quietly settle the allegations the month before he filed the first lawsuit.
“My client’s demand is $100,000,” Buzbee associate Cornelia Brandfield-Harvey wrote in a February 9, 2021 email on behalf of Ms. Solis. Ms. Brandfield-Harvey followed up with a clarification of the $100,000 demand later that same day. “This offer remains open until Friday of this week.” Mr. Buzbee is copied on all of the emails.
The Watson representative who engaged in the discussions with Mr. Buzbee and his firm is Scott Gaffield, the General Counsel at the Athletes First agency of Laguna Beach.
On February 19, Mr. Gaffield responded to Mr. Buzbee and Ms. Brandfield-Harvey by inquiring about “the rationale behind the $100k demand” given that “we don’t believe that the alleged facts show that Deshaun did anything wrong…”
Mr. Buzbee responded that same morning: “We made a legit demand. You rejected it. We won’t be making another or bid against ourselves.” He then added: “This is Houston, Texas. Perhaps you should find him a lawyer here so you can apprise both you and your client of the landscape here and who you are dealing with.”
In a written statement, Mr. Gaffield said:
“My email exchanges with Mr. Buzbee and Ms. Brandfield-Harvey were very clear. We did not think that the facts showed that Deshaun did anything wrong with their client. We believed then – and fully believe now – that Deshaun learned a lesson about putting himself in this type of situation by interacting with people he does not know. As the emails show, we were willing to continue discussions on Deshaun’s behalf to explore ways to prevent a lawsuit and a public spectacle. But Mr. Buzbee informed us that he was unwilling to do so. We expect that this matter will be resolved in court.”

Hardin released the email chain.
One thing it does show is they were willing to settle just not for $100k.
Hardin doesn’t address the other accuser who went public today.
Flip the pages for the emails and you can make your own determination.
