Predator: Killer of Killers
2025

8/10

I watched this new flick this afternoon at home.

It’s an animated anthology film based around 3 stories depicting “The Predator” early arrivals on Earth before the classic Schwarzenegger film that started the franchise in 1987.

The first story takes place during the Viking era in Northern Europe. The Predator introduced is like the Incredible Hulk. He is barely covered in clothing and uses just one unique prosthetic weapon mounded to his right forearm. This story has a shit load of graphic violence for an animated sequence that surprised me.

The 2nd story takes place in feudal Japan. It has a well done fight sequence between a Ninja/Samurai. The Predator in this one is slim/agile, heavily armored and has a large variety of weapons. Some are familiar from past projects with different capabilities.

The 3rd story takes place during WW2 in the Atlantic. The Predator in this part operates out of spaceship that has a variety of weapons to engage with WW2 fighter planes.

The film ends connecting the 3 prior stories together. We get some insight on what looks like the Predators home world or an associated planet they own.

The film also introduces a sub-plot into the franchise involving time/space. It also connects the film “Prey”, if you haven’t seen that one, you will definitely need to watch that one as the franchise proceeds.

I went into this not expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s full of action and minimal

I looked into this film and and it is a prequel to the upcoming “Predator: Badlands”. So if you plan on watching that, you gonna have to watch this film and “Prey”.

I’m definitely looking forward to what Disney has planned for the franchise.

Following the animated return of Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s Dutch to the Predator franchise, the actor could soon reprise the role in a live-action capacity.

During Friday’s Predator: Badlands panel at Comic-Con, director Dan Trachtenberg teased the Hall H audience that he’s planning to “cook up stuff for that guy” after a recent breakfast meeting with the Golden Globe-winning actor and former governor of California.

Schwarzenegger starred in the original John McTiernan-helmed Predator (1987) as Major Alan ‘Dutch’ Schaefer, who encounters the titular extraterrestrial with his paramilitary team during a rescue mission in a Central American rainforest...

U.S. Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) Warns Walmart Shrimp Could ‘Turn You Into Alien’ After Radioactive Recall
August 4, 2025

Senator John Kennedy held up a poster of the movie "Alien" on the Senate floor and warned about radioactive shrimp recalled from Walmart and Kroger supermarkets across then US. Kennedy claimed the Indonesian imports could “turn you into the alien, that at a minimum will cause you to grow an extra ear," blasting weak US inspections and urging stronger oversight of foreign seafood.

Alien: Earth
2025

8.5/10

I binged this series yesterday at home on Hulu.

The main premise of the series is around the future of Cyborgs, Synthetics and Hybrids in the franchise. The start of the first episode cleared up a bunch of questions on the Weyland-Yutani Corp. that has come up in the first 3 Alien films that are canon along with Prometheus/Covenant films and recent Romulus film.

The series takes place about 2 years prior to Alien (1977). Because of this, this series opens some questions with events in that film that should be answered in future seasons of this series.

Suspense and action is presented well throughout the episodes. There really isn’t a slow episode that can be labeled as “filler”. Every episode and scene keeps your eyes glued to the screen.

There are a number of stand out characters in the series that are presented well. If you haven’t seen it, the Cyborg “Morrow” is a highlight. You will think the Alien Xenomorph would be the highlight enemy of the series, but there is an Eye Octopus alien that steals the series. I was highly impressed with this alien.

VFX/SFX is at movie theater level. The series doesn’t look cheap.

With how the season ended, like I pointed out earlier in my review, it opens up some questions. It doesn’t look like Disney is gonna leave us hanging, so being this series takes place 2 years before Alien (1977) it looks like this series might play out like “Rogue One” with its future series finale leading directly into Alien.

Definitely looking forward to what Disney has planned for the franchise and this series.

Synopsis

In reality, it would've ended at Wolverine. I've never seen a Yautja dish out anything that would put him down and he could easily detect them even while they're cloaked and piece 'em up with his adamantium claws.
I think the lead Predator's armor in this is made of vibranium, plus he has adamantium-coated wrist blades

…“Walter Hill is a very good friend of mine, and he wrote 50 pages where Ripley would be now, and they are quite extraordinary. I don’t know if it’s going to happen, but I have had a meeting with Fox, Disney, or whoever it is now,” she told the crowd at New York Comic Con on Friday. “I said I have never felt the need. I was always like, ‘Let her rest, let her recover.’ But what Walter has written seems so true to me as very much about the society that would incarcerate someone who has tried to help mankind.”…

She needs to let that character go. They put her to sleep for 50 years, killed off her daughter, killed off Newt, put a chest burster in her, dropped her molten metal, and then cloned her. That's enough. Ripley needs to rest in peace.

Had they just went with Neill Blomkamp's proposed Alien film it probably wouldve been those last Halloween films with JLC
