I'm gonna try this one mel shit out....but I need to point out that Herschel isn't a 9 to 5 worker! thats a big factor, homey is probably living a way more active and healthy lifestyle during the day than most office warriors.
anyway I kind of believe the one vegetarian meal shit because basically the more I eat the less athletic I feel, and the more I exercise the less I want to eat.
He was big on juicing, fasting and eating less in general. I'm interested in seeing how many people who eat 5-6 meals a day will live long while still being mobile. The worlds oldest man is 114 and he only eats twice a day.
my gramps is 99 and he eats all fucking day long.
i cooked for him a couple years back and this ninja took 2 hours to eat and then wanted ANOTHER plate.
ate it too then the itis hit him and he was out.

This one meal a day thing is making sense. I might try 2 meals a day: 11am and 7pm if possible.
I gonna see if I can push for 8am and 4/5pm...and maybe @ lunch have some fruit and shit to tide me over or maybe an Ensure![]()

Some guys can go do that one meal thing cold turkey but I am going to try the fasting approach in small phases until it becomes easier for me
If I don't eat breakfast I get lightheaded and the rest of my day goes to shit from there...a hungry man is an angry man...but I heard somewhere can't remember if it was on tv or reading it on this board but they said eat breakfast like a king lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper and it got me to thinking...once I have breakfast I usually good...lunch just fills me up...and dinner for me is just out of being a lil greedy + accustomed to it
I still find it hard to believe you can look like that off calenthestics alone...but ima make this my lil experiment for the next few months..minus that diet shit..

The thing that a lot of people are missing is that if you listen to the interview, he said that he will have juices. He said he only eats once a day, but has juices in between.
Another example of someone who maintains a 200+lb weight without eating all damn day.

FYI... I only know about these dudes because researched the subject before I started to eat once a day. I was skeptical too...
NUTRITION
I have had my best year ever of eating this current year. So, let me speak of that, but remember for years, I lived on two simple meals a day with little protein. For now, I am eating at least three good meals a day: Breakfast is 3 eggs, 6 slices of bread, tea. Lunch is ugali (Kenyan maize meal), 1 1/2 pounds of beef, and juice. Supper is ugali with a whole fresh fish, and juice. Chicken substitutes for beef or fish. Beans occasionally. Rice or sweet potatoes on occasions, but the routine is as I have indicated.
Jack Lalanne, at age 71, ate 2 meals a day, one at 11am and dinner at 7. Known juicer, and a regular faster.

One Meal A Day
1 Eat one meal a day or one meal every other day, and it will prolong your life. Do not think that you will starve. On the contrary. you will be treating yourself to life, and a life filled with sickless days. You can hardly get sick eating this way. I know because I have this experience. If you eat the proper food -- which I have given to you from Allah (in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad to Whom be praise forever) in this book-- you will hardly ever have a headache.
2 In eating once a day or once every other day, you must not eat between meals. And, you should try to eat at the same hour tomorrow as you eat today. Do not change your meal hours if you can help it. That causes your stomach to react to various hours of the day for a meal, and will set up gas on the stomach. Do not even drink juices, milk, or soft drinks between meals.
3 And, do not eat candies or fruits between meals. You are welcome to drink water, but I know you will not want too much water between meals since your stomach will not call for it. You may drink coffee between meals, but do not fill your cup with half sugar and half cream and pour coffee on top of that. (smile) This (that I am trying to teach you) is the way that He (Almighty Allah) has taught me for you. I have given to you in this book the type of food that you should eat as Allah has given it to me.
4 Again I say, many vegetables are good to eat; also many fruits. But the vegetables you have been warned against eating such as collard greens, turnip salads, black -eyed peas, field peas, lima beans, butter beans and soy beans - Should not be eaten. Be sure that you do not eat the large size navy bean, eat the small size navy bean.
5 Surely Sugar diabetes can be controlled and driven out with your abstinence from eating sugar and Starchy foods. And, with your corrected way of eating once a day or once every other day (if started in time), you will become negative of Sugar in your blood. If you are a victim of sugar diabetes, you should not eat white or sweet potatoes. And even if you are not a victim of diabetes, you should not eat too much of any starchy food (such as potatoes), and positively no sweet potatoes. You Should be careful of eating this type of food.
Eat one good meal of food a day for good health. One meal a day or every two days could spell the end of much medicine, doctor bills and the building of hospitals if we would eat the proper food and eat it only when it is necessary to eat it.
There are a lot of people who think their appetite is their god; but we, by nature, have been made to control ourselves if we want to. I have much self-experience in the way of eating. Every meal that we put in our bodies has some poison in it. And some of our food, as I have said in this book, takes 36 hours to digest. This, I have experienced. I suffered sickness a lot of times through experimenting, so that you will not come and give me the wrong answer to the Teachings of “How To Eat To Live.” I have self-experimented. I will know whether you are telling me the truth or not. But, I will put my life on it; that if you make a habit of eating one meal every day or every two days and of eating the right food, you will not be sick (only one day out of the year or out of every two years); and some of the complaints that you have now will completely disappear.
By eating one meal a day, some chronic diseases will vanish in a few years as they fail to get the poison that will keep them alive. Sometimes, they vanish within a few months, if you eat the right foods and eat only one meal a day or every two days. Try it for yourselves.
I ate one meal a day for a few years and was in the best shape of my life... leaned out and had MORE energy than when I ate 3-5 meals. I play basketball several times per week for 3-5 hrs in a fasted state with no issues whatsoever. i wasn't shredded like Herschel, but I was 8-10%BF at about 200lbs. There was an adjustment period of maybe 7-12 days, but after that it was smooth sailing. Eating 5-6 times a day really doesnt make since... I believe that must have been started by supplement companies. Remember when you only needed 3 meals? In 2020 it will be 8 mealsAnd you wonder why people are so overweight.

The body is machine and everybodies is different. It also adjusts to the regimen and routines if you treat it right. And like you said, genetics always play a part. Im a one meal a day guy, two on occasions, but never more than that (unless im being a glutten on vacation/holiday). Serves me well. Anything more has always weighed me down. Typical days i do a fruit smoothie, a veggie smoothie and a meal.So this cat is maintaining that build solely on one meal? man...got-damn.... genetics play a huge part of it as well with Walker I think...because I couldnt do it...I lose lean mass easily when Im not eating sufficienty.
Ive done lots of different things... 6 small a day, all organic, vegan, etc types of diets... so Im pretty disciplined but gonna see if I can do something like this...but my fucking appetite goes bananas when Im working out intensily..

Ive always been of the opinion that putting all that crap in your body keeps your body busy processing and digesting when it could be focusing on other areas of health and maintenance.
Ive never understood the six small meal a day crowd. I know it works for them but it just isnt for me. I could never intake all that food everyday.
I here you. But you metabolism will be just fine without that crap. Im not shitting on it, its just not for me. I remember we discussed fasting and juicing a few years ago. Did you ever seriously get into it? You really should, especially considering the amble amounts of year round beautiful fruits and veggies you have access to there. But i guess it all depends on your goals, if you're into bodybuilding or some ridiculous shit like that then by all means eat 6 meals. Otherwise it isnt needed, and in my opinion there are smarter options.After an intense work I am starving man.
I gain the most lean mass when doing 6 smaller meals...but they are small meals that keep my metabolism high all day.
Im going to try this though man...ive read about all the benefits of a low calorie diet...and a lot you cats are vouching for this
i guess Im just going to have to slowly work my way down to 1 or 2 per day with doing some juicing...it makes more sense in terms of overall health and im more concerned with that than physique
