thanks giving came around and moms bought boxes
of sweet potatoes from Costco and had pies coming out the oven almost daily up until mid Jan :smh::smh::yes: I was just weak.

Real talk... check out leangains.com... intermittent fasting is the truth. Give it 5 weeks, 1 to adjust and 4 good weeks of working out and 20hr fasts. The results will speak for themselves.

peace

Anybody here do burpees instead of pushups?

I feel like it's a better, total body workout...

Used to but for me, I felt it was more for those who were trying to burn off pounds with that full body type excercise, sweating all over;
Wasn't trying to be moving towards 180 lbs from 200lb but dug the cardio somewhat.

peace

Martin Berkhan, personal trainer and creator of the leangains approach. basically its a program of a 16-20hr fast and a 4-8 hour eating window. Many adherents do this via one meal. There are several threads about it at bodybuilding.com Check out his clients' results and success stories... Intermittent fasting works.

I ate one meal a day for a few years and was in the best shape of my life... leaned out and had MORE energy than when I ate 3-5 meals. I play basketball several times per week for 3-5 hrs in a fasted state with no issues whatsoever. i wasn't shredded like Herschel, but I was 8-10%BF at about 200lbs. There was an adjustment period of maybe 7-12 days, but after that it was smooth sailing. Eating 5-6 times a day really doesnt make since... I believe that must have been started by supplement companies. Remember when you only needed 3 meals? In 2020 it will be 8 meals :smh: And you wonder why people are so overweight.

I fell off the wagon during the holidays but I'm in the process of getting back on the program:cool:

I still find it hard to believe you can look like that off calenthestics alone...but ima make this my lil experiment for the next few months..minus that diet shit..

but i learned how to do 600 PLUS pushups a day right here on BGOL, and feel compelled to tell that story.

Is that thread still here?

i started doing 10 push ups, resting three minutes, then doing ten more. at that time i could only do about 3 sets of ten before i just got tuckered out, but i would continue to do as many as i could, 3, 4 or 5 push ups until i reached total failure. after a week or two i could do about 5 sets of ten with 3 minutes of rest between each set.

well, a few months later i could do 20 push ups per set, rest 6 minutes, then do 20 more. i could do that for 10 sets, which gives you the ability to do 200 push ups in an hour. later i added more, until i was doing it twice a day, in the morning and in the evening, doing 30 reps per set for 10 sets.

I'm confused, isn't doing pushups sort of like lifting weights as far as your muscles are concerned? The reason i'm asking is because everyone says that you are supposed to let your muscles rest for a day after lifting weights.

the info and link have already been presented in this thread. lok at what eewwll dropped.

i did it 3 days a week, not everyday. i mos def rested between those days.

I only ate one meal today and I'm doing the same tommorrow. I'm definitely making this part of my lifestyle again. Might add a Water fast to this after a week or two.

especially when ur exercising like that
FOH,you pass out from the lack of sugar
:confused::confused:

You don't need dietary carbohydrate/sugar to live... matter of fact, of the macro nutrients, carbohydrate is the one you don't need to live. The body will convert dietary protein into glucose via gluconeogenesis.

A simple, easy to understand breakdown on why fasting is beneficial to fat burning/muscle building

ur usually pretty bright so I wont call what you said stupid, just ill informed. Fat is his major source of energy. He burns enough of it to maintain homestatsis. And I bet his bmi is as low 6% or lower. U know sugar is a cheap source of energy

:smh:

The only reason we sleep is so our bodies can repair our damaged cells. If youve never done a juice fast renewed every cell in your body. it is still repairing cells that were damaged by free radical residue since you were born. Therefore, when ones diet changes to a raw food based diet or adjusts to fasting, the cells in the body need less repairing, thus needing less sleep.

yep

saying niggas were lying and shit

sure some probaby were but dudes were acting as if its an unreachable feat
Dudes weren't acting like it was impossible( ibench315lbs+) but you had 50 dudes in that thread all claiming 300lbs or better. now i don't know about you, but i have memberships at several gym and i am also a certified trainer, the ratio of average dudes benching over 300+ is not that high.

I read through four pages to see if someone would ask this question

Considering that you use your muscles every day the concept of resting muscles does sound strange. Weight lifting, even body weight exercises, if done in moderation can and probably should be done every day.

The key is moderation, Herschel Walker started off as an above average individual so his workout regimen sounds extreme to normal people.

Also I've read somewhere that multiple reps/sets of light weights work muscles differently than heavy weights with low reps/sets, so there may be more reason to rest for the heavy weight workouts as opposed to light weight workouts too because the damage to the muscles is different too.

Genetics...no way I gonna play myself tryna follow his routine and expect to look anything like that...my skinny ass need @ least 2 meals a day

Here is how it breaks down:

Does not train with free-weights

Uses bodyweight exercises, calisthenics, and conditioning, as well as martial arts training

Performs 750-1,000 push-ups daily

2,000+ sit-ups daily

Skips breakfast

Trains for martial arts which includes wrestling, kickboxing, sparring and jujitsu

Dinner is the only meal consumed which consists of salad, soup, and bread

He is a vegetarian

Sleeps four hours a night

read that and tell me if you really believe that shit?

I know that everyones body is different and everyones body is capable of adpating..but look at his body and read his regimie and please explian it to me cause i dont get and i also think he's lying about some things.

Good thread...I could see myself cutting down from 3 to 2 meals a day (breakfast/lunch) I hardly eat dinner as it is could prolly stand to just drink water instead @ nite...but going thru the whole day not eating anything then just eating dinner and going to sleep? Negative

And Buk fuck you w/ ya muscles and ya 2000 pushups and Princess Reche fuck you man *sniff*

Fuck all this FASTING, ONE MEAL A DAY SHITS.It's not for everyone and it's not necessary.

I lost 35 Lbs in 3 months using a wii Fit for 30 min's every day and eating 300-400 calorie meals 4 times a day, 4 Hours apart from each other.

Ya man cats are acting like you don't have ppl his age built like this eating 3 "square" meals a day...I can do 2 meals and they'd have to be early in the day...no fuckin way I would play myself getting up and going about my day dealing w/ the day's stresses and shit w/o any fuckin food in my system and to only eat when I come home...still some good info tho about the workout regimen and the veggie diets I really do need to stop w/ meat/fish altogether and beer/liquor

Jack Lalanne, at age 71, ate 2 meals a day, one at 11am and dinner at 7. Known juicer, and a regular faster. Look up Paul Bragg, the guy who first inspired Jack as a teen. He was big on juicing, fasting and eating less in general. I'm interested in seeing how many people who eat 5-6 meals a day will live long while still being mobile. The worlds oldest man is 114 and he only eats twice a day.

5-6 meals/day nonsense had to have been started by Met-Rx with the meal replacement shakes back in the 90's :smh:
