HERE’S THE AVERAGE INCOME OF BLACK MILLENNIALS AGES 25-29

I'm curious to know if these statistics are being juxtaposed against the same type of work, for the length of time, and equal or greater academic accomplishment. These variables must be included, otherwise the opposition will default to defensive arguments that include everything I've just mentioned.

Also, even though racism is pervasive you can still get your paper up if you're in a STEM field, willing to move, have a good work ethic, and the ability to show your worth in dollars. Document everything and assign dollar amounts. Also, understand the salary or pay structure of the company you are working for and don't be scared to ask for a raise.

A lot of these jobs are requiring people to have a Bachelor's, just so they can pay you $13-15 an hour.

Like you spent 9k on tuition a year for four years, 36k in debt, just to make 20-something thousand a year. Tell me how that makes sense.

Then the employer discounts you, like the job will say $13 to 15 an hour, which probably means they'll give a white boy the $15, or more even, and if you black, you gone get the $13.
Bruuuuuuuuuuh literally have caught my job 2x trying to pay a white boy more than me.

I was just about to say this! If you not going to college for STEM, you are waisting your time.
I mentor youth and these big major companies are putting hella dollars behind programs centered around STEM programs.

Good shit, my bro is making over 6 figures too. The work is hard and it ain't for lazy mofos.
Funny thing my boy actually says for the most part it’s a cakewalk.. he said he be on call but most days nothing happens or it’s not as much work as people would think.. he said now and than he get hard jobs.. he deal with mostly office buildings

This. I will take it a step further. They should major in engineering if they have the amplitude. Unless they are going to medical or dental school they should avoid the natural sciences like Biology. Also English, history, general studies etc are complete bullshit. Chiropractors make a grip too likewise with speech pathologist.

My brother says Vegas be popping and all of the parts are heavy af lol. Also it's hot af in the elevator shaft.
Edit: All of the jobs ain't hard, 50/50.

100% agree, but I will also add while Biology and Chemistry are not complete BS because you can still get a lab job making like 45,000+ a year or become a STEM teacher which from what I hear is a high demand job right now.

I know trade schools were mentioned and I agree that it can be another option.

I will also add community college and anything health care related. These are literally recession proof jobs...I am not just talking about MAs either (even though you can get a job), but it's so many opportunities in the health field man shit is crazy....

This is what people are woefully overlooking. There is simply less money available to the newer generations than what was available to the Baby Boomers.

BGOL is a porn board of "strivers" that overproject their wealth and status and want to be seen as more exceptional than the Black community as a whole. I dont know what you was thinking posting wealth gap stuff on this board. Even with the data they will turn it into a financial literacy bad spending habits argument. This is not the place for these type serious discussions rooted in data cuz its too much fronting. The majority of people on this board are broke and or making less money than they were 10 years ago, but you would never know it the way they project.

My pops used to tell stories of how he was training cacs back in the 80s and found out they were making more than him in the oil & gas field :smh: .

Even with the stats, they always flip it to black men need to work harder and get more education.
I've seen it in the tech field too. Even if I ran circle around white boys, they would find their favorite and train them up and promote them. If I asked about opportunity they would always mention going back to school. Meanwhile the white boy barely made it out of college and gets advanced training.
It angers the shit out of me sometimes how much money they take off the table for us.

Same shit. I trained this cac too. Quick rundown. So the only people in the company that are salaried are management. Neither 1 of us are that. But they had dude being paid salary and at $8 more than me. So when I bought it up they were like "we wanted salaries to be apples to apples and based off what you're making and with OT that's how we came up with his rate"

I'm like why the fuck y'all fell it necessary to bring a mufucka off the street with no previous experience and have him making what I'm making? No real answer to my question but they made him hourly dropped his rate and boosted mine above his.

Now I'm the only nigga in the department so I'm always on guard. So about a 2 weeks ago just started having that gut feeling like shit wasn't right again. Shole nuff they got the same cac up a $1.25 on me.

This. My side hustle is at a community College. A 2 yr drafting degree can get you paid. Level 1 tech designers can start around 50k at Boeing.

Might be time to let college go, and start pushing the Trades for our kids.
Oh big facts......I came to that conclusion a few years ago...it just depends on what your kids want to do. You know by high school if you're kid is on the path to being a doctor, lawyer, etc.

Because school isn't gonna teach kids the real world or prepare them for it.....

Get more than mad fam. One of my mentors, a brother that was an engineer for nearly 40 years hipped me to the game. Document all contributions in monetary terms. For example your designed saved 3 mil. Document the amount, the manager, date, and your specific contribution.

Man, I keep thinking that, on a forum with MEN, you can post hard data about this kind of shit and pull people out of La-La Land. Women are usually more susceptible to that kind of shit. Or so I thought. They'll claim to be anti-GOP but will argue from the most right-wing "bootstrap" positions you can imagine.

Just look at this shit here, from the "Color of Wealth" report for Washington DC!

Yup and in the health care field I can go from being a Sonographer, Dental Hygienist, or a Respiratory Therapist....These motherfuckers make no less than 60K and all you have to do is bust your ass for like 2-3 years.....

Good shit. Those 2-3 be separating the real from the pretenders.

If you have children you have to push them into the fields what simply pay better. Yes there's a lot more work, time and energy invested but you don't want to leave this Earth wondering if they will be okay. Me? Not only have I pushed my kids but I also encouraged them to leave this muthafuckin' country. Find a profession that would allow you to work anywhere in the world and leave this shit.
