Has Anyone Ever Ate At A Famous Restaurant?

I have been to most of the places but this place hasnt been mentioned - nice steaks - costly and they don't take credit cards so bring cash

I mentioned Peter Luger's...
One of the best meals I've ever had...

Went to Pat's and Geno's in philly and they were terrible. BGOL put me on Max's off of Broadstreet and that was the business. Roscoe's in L.A. was tight work (I think it was the one off Pico)

Me and WIfey make it a point to go to any place that triple D has been to when we travel and have come up on some really good spots. Banging ass Roti in Seattle, Bar-B-Que in Santa Monica, Thai and haitian here in South florida etc. etc.

Arthur Bryant's is in my city,, white people luv it, but i don't know many Black who mess with it,, i personally hate it,, meat is usually dry as hell, & the sauce is wack,, & they don't use any sauce while BBQing, you add it yourself after they serve it to you

it's located in the hood, & it's funny to see all these white people lined up half way down the street to order, yet no Black people in line,,

there are other BBQ places in this city that blow them outta the water (gates, lc's, oklahoma joes, etc),, but every president since harry truman has ate there (since truman was from the kc area),, so i think that's why cacs luv it so much,, check out the other spots i mentioned 1st if you visit kc

Cosign; Bryant's sauce is :puke: that and white folks other KC fav, Jack Stack........like GB stated, LC's; Ok Joe's, Gates all shit on Arthur Bryant's

Ben's is okay....Sakura Japanese is okay...best wings ever was when I was recording this album and the manager brought some wings in from this spot in Manyunk Philly...forgot the name....Ruth Chris is overrated...althogh this spot in downtown annapolis, MD called Lewne's has the best steak I ever had...hands down...a couple chinese spots here in Maryland called Grace's...I know the owner personally...she has good Chinese food...MJ (23) goes there from time to time when he's in town....

I ate at Justin's back in 2003

Glady's Chicken and Waffles in 2010

When I first got here to LA I couldn't stop going to Roscoe's until after being here a few months

yes i have ate a few of the places on your list... Just looking at that genos makes my chest hurt. they dont cut their meat up and you eat that shit late at night you wake up with it laying in the middle of your chest:puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke:

jims is far better than genos and pats combined.

Agreed, Jim's was good. Before my trip to Philly last year I asked Geno's or Pat's on facebook and my Philly friends responded "Jim's"

Ask anyone from Philly or that lives in Philly and this is what you'll be told. Sure, the tourists flock to Geno's and Pat's, but what the fuck do tourists know except for what the "Travel Channel" tells them?

By the way, Why is Ben's Chilli Bowl not on this list?

The orginal Frenchy's in 3rd Ward is the shit! Always on point.

Gladys Knights in Atl was good.

There's a lot of soulfood spots in the south better than Sylvia's

How are u from the Clarke and didnt mention Beef and Bun nigga!!!

Best chopped beef in all of Houston!

I ate at Sylvia's my first or second time in Harlem despite everyone in town telling me I should eat at the House of Prayer instead. I should have listened. I did the next day though.

Oh, ate at Glady's Knights almost every time I went to ATL between '03 - '05. Salmon cakes are the bomb. Now my go to spot is Mary Macs. Best damn pot liquor on earth.

I'm glad someone mentioned Prime 112, that might be the most overrated experience I've ever had. People who say there are only so many ways to make steak haven't been to really good chop places.

The steak and food at Prime was a cut above a chain restaurant but not worth the two hour wait. I ate better at one of the seafood joints off Ocean ave.

'The only thing i ever had here is the bbq and its not all that. the limeade is pretty good though.'

How in this day & age do you not accept credit cards? Hell I only walk around with so much cash as that's my just in case money but prefer using credit cards as I'll at least have a paper trail on any purchases.

Jims is >>>>>>> than both no bullshit. what makes jims better is they actually cut their meat. pats and ginos just give you the unsliced steak on the rolls. the bread comes from the same place and the other ingredients are all the same.

usually when they have a sixers game on national tv that is jims they are showing making cheese steaks

jims = tourist trap...but it is better than both pat & geno.

there are places in/around Philly that are way better. my fave is the hoagie factory...best i had while living up there. 2nd best is a lil diner in paulsboro, nj.

that has to be the worst looking chicken cheesesteak i have ever seen... you can make better in your house with stuff from the local market...

@ max i did say jims was the best of the tourist spots in my original comment... my fav spots would be vicents in west philly, spot on st joes campus the name slips me right now, and if you want to belly buster experience go to gooey louie's

Emerils and Two sisters in New Orleans. Good food both places, complete different dress codes.

We would need a whole new thread if we put NOLA in the mix. Depending on how much you feel like spending, at every level from $7 to $100 per person, you can't get a bad meal in Nawlins. Many famous restaurants and 3 of my top 10 in the world are in that town. Upperline is in my top 3

Pagano's Steaks
7617 Ogontz Ave , Philadelphia PA 19150
(215) 549-1646

best and biggest cheesesteak i ever had!! had to eat the meat with a fork before picking it up...

Most of the top one's in Boston....

The Spinnaker...located on the top floor of the Hyatt.

The hook was that the whole place revolves,to give you 360 degree views of Boston while you dine...which was suppose to take your mind off the crappy food and exorbitant prices:smh:

Same with Locke Obers...who cares that it opened in 1875:smh:

Or the 'Top of the Hub',white linen, fine crystal and silver is good....but food and value is most important to me.

Legal seafood is pretty good...

Overall,I'd rather be at Simco's having a hot dog.

All of them except the BBQ joint. Meh...Juniors is in fact AWFUL, Sylvias used to be ok decades ago but has been horrible and overpriced for years, russian tea room is YUCK, Roscoes and Brown Derby ok and I dont eat meat and the cheesesteak place did not have a veggie one but there iS a giy from Philly making cheesesteaks and vegetarian ones on Nostrand Ave in BK and it was REALLY GOOD. Shit I wish I could get one right now...
