Next step is to get my optic zeroed out to 50yds using the defense ammo I have. After that I'll get either a bolt-action in 300Blk or a 16" upper that could go on my 5.56 lower and use it for target fun. Hell I might do both. Still got time plus I'm bout to learn how to reload ammo so I won't be scrounging around looking for subsonic ammo.

Good shit, Brother.

Have you heard of the Discreet Ballistics' 300 AAC Blackout 188gr Selous Machined Expander bullets? I bought some of bullets and some nickle-plated casings from another vendor. I'm looking for a reloader now.

But these bullets are supposed to be wicked when they expand.

I haven't heard of them. So far I have Hornady 190gr-X subsonic hollow points for self defense and some subsonic FMJs from Defender ammo, Seller & Bellot and Hornady. I'm collecting hardware now so that I can learn to reload. The NAAGA chapter president for my area will be teaching me. He shoots 300Blk subsonic like the rest of us shoot 5.56

I just got the can on Monday so I haven't taken her out yet. My friend got the same can & I shot with his so I know it's pretty quiet. I have Hornady 190gr Sub-X ammo for home defense

Nice choice, same ammo I chose for HD. I've been having problems getting the bolt to lock back after the last round, and intermittent feeding issues with it though. I tweaked the buffer spring/weights to make it better but its still not 100% reliable. From what I gather it may be my feed ramps are just too narrow, I wish I could find a 9" 300blk barrel with 30cal feed ramps, I don't wanna dremel my ramps. I had really given up on using it, since she will eat pointy nose rounds for breakfast no problem. I may put this whole can up for sale.

Speaking of cans, I got my Rex Silentium MG7 in, I love this thing. Great tone in a short length.

I swapped it onto my 300blk and used black 1200 degree header paint on it to match the rifle.

Also finished up my Benelli M4 and broke her in with about 500 rds of buck/slugs. My shoulder was black & blue but it was fun.

Try polishing your feed ramp with a metal polish like Flitz or a 3000-grit emery board instead of a Dremel. Has cured many feed problems that I had and is not as harsh as dremel work. Takes about 20 minutes. Polish in feed direction with a cotton cloth, clean and repeat 2 or 3 times. Then clean it one final time with alcohol and lube.

First, clean rifle set up (even without the fandanglements). Noveske makes some nice rifles.
Second, why the tape switch over a cap push button switch for the flashlight?
And what & why that optic set up?

:shades:
Thanks, I always loved the Gen3 Noveske receivers, and the KAC URX 3.1 handguards lines just look like they were made for each other.
I like this setup because I use an overhand C-clamp grip to aim on this gun, and having the pressure switch up top lets me lay my support hand's thumb across the pad for momentary activation, and the optic mount is high enough so my thumb is not in my sight picture. That little handstop on the bottom is my index point for my grip. A clicky cap makes me break my grip a bit to activate the light and moves my aiming point, whereas with the pad, I can stay on target and illuminate better. The pressure pad is held down with some 500 degree Plenum zip ties since I run them through the handguard holes close to the barrel.

Optic setup is a Trijicon MRO-HD with a Eotech G43 (3X) magnifier. The magnifier flips to the side and is quick detachable with a simple throw lever. The MRO mount is a Midwest Industries Lower 1/3 mount. The MRO has a BIG ass FOV, and the reticle is bright and crisp enough to overpower my astigmatism. I can't use red dots that well because they get blurry/starry. This optic lets me shoot with both eyes open. I have it zeroed @ 50yds and can reach out to 200yds reliably. Thats realistically the range I would be fighting in around my home, I'm the only house on the block. I also have a set of KAC 300m backup irons that I can flip up and see in the lower 1/3 of the optic window in case the optic dies.

All in all she balances well, and is great for maneuvering indoors, and can still reach out a bit if needed. I did take her apart yesterday and polished the hell out of my feed ramps until I could see my reflection in an effort to get those Hornady subs to feed reliably, just gotta go test it now. But If I decide to sell that ammo can you got dibs.
