When Fish Mooney Will Return To Gotham
One good turn deserves another over on
Gotham, and honestly, it doesn’t matter how good that turn really was. One of Season 1’s more polarizing characters was Jada Pinkett Smith’s crime boss Fish Mooney, who was
killed off very late in the game. Season 2 introduced Hugo Strange, whose recent claim to fame has been resurrecting the dead with new personalities and the
return of Fish Mooney is coming soon. We’re finally going to see her again on the penultimate of Season 2, “A Legion of Horribles,” and she’s not the only familiar face coming back.
Thanks to the newly released episode synopsis, we know that Hugo Strange does indeed bring Fish Mooney back to life for the episode that will air on Monday, May 16. No sign is given of whether or not she’ll be a different person when she comes back, similar to Theo Galavan
turning into Azrael. Doc Strange was talking some
Mad Hatter language last week, which could be a sign of what’s to come for Fish, or maybe she’ll have a personality tied to her
wild eye gouging.
It’s unclear at this point if Jada Pinkett Smith is going to be in both “A Legion of Horribles” and then the season finale, or if this is a one-time reprisal. More of Strange’s twisted reanimated criminals are coming in this episode, and I can’t imagine the last episode will scale it back on creating a wall of threats for Gordon and the depleted GCPD to deal with. Some will definitely die, but we’ll just have to wait and see who that’ll be.
Also listed in the guest cast is Michelle Veintimilla, who played Bridgit Pike, also known (for a brief time) as Firefly, because of her…fire. She was taken to the Indian Hills facility after her big showdown with police, so we knew she would be making a comeback at some point. Also listed is Brian McManamon, who was cast a couple of months ago
as Clayface. Or Basil Karlo, if we’re being technical. I cannot wait to see if Strange’s science can actually turn a human being into a self-molding clay blob. Still no
Jerome yet, but we’re patiently waiting.
Here’s the episode’s full synopsis.
Hugo Strange welcomes a familiar face to
Gotham after he resurrects Fish Mooney in Indian Hill. Later, Bruce discovers a friend is in danger and teams up with Gordon, Alfred and Lucius, while uncovering more of Strange's experiments in the all-new "Wrath of the Villains: A Legion of Horribles" episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, May 16.
