The Gang: Part 2 is the tenth episode of Season 2 and the twenty-third episode overall. It is one-half of an episode.
James witnesses a heated argument between Mad Dog and his mother, who expresses how fed up she is with her son, and disowns him. James almost takes pity on Mad Dog's who's been broken by his mother's hate-filled words which did much more damage than anything James or the law could've done, and can't bring himself to take any further action against him.

To bring some much needed money into the Evans household, J.J. begins giving art lessons in his living room. Curious as to why his student Earl (Ernest Harden, Jr.) is acting so strangely, J.J. soon learns the terrible truth. Earl's father (Hal Williams) is dead set against his son becoming an artist -- and he's willing to use violence to exert his authority.

J.J. the Teacher is the seventh episode of Season 6 of Good Times, and the 116th episode overall. Written by Mark Fink, the episode, which was directed by Gerren Keith, premiered on CBS-TV, originally airing on October 21, 1978.
