GameStop is finished!

Once retail stores go out of business that is it for a lot of people who work retail.

Outstanding quote!! I have a friend who works retail, she has been at target for 15-20yrs. She's a supervisor or team leader, if she would loose that job she would be in a world of shit!! She is 48yrs old and where would she go if target shut its doors?? The sad thing is, she isnt alone!! Theres 1000's of folks in the retail industry and where will they go when the retail industry makes that move to online only??

Yes you can.. but let’s say you have some game not finished yet. And GOD Of War comes out, have to delete something and by the time you get close to finishing that. Another game come out like red dead redemption.

Go the disc route and laying back on the couch playing a game, now you got to get up to change out disc.
u simply just buy a larger hard drive if you want to accomodate more games... i know it it was me i'd have a 2tb inside the system and a 4+TB plugged externally for my entire library for convenience.

but i dont' even fuck with consoles because i don't want to deal with physical disks among other reasons. all my games via steam or xbox for pc, ea, etc are all downloaded and i can keep off my computer until i need it, download it and resume where i left off on the game. most games take less then 20 minutes if even that.

Thanks will do, how many games your 2tb hold? Cause mines is holding like 5 games and one of them is a disc. Battlefield 1, Tennis World Tour, Gran Turismo Sport, Battlefront 2 and God Of War.

Work the warehouse delivering the goods

I have made some great deals at gs... I traded a xbox one og and a ps4 og for a xbox one x....just need to play the game with trade bonuses

I will download some of those free with gold games, but I prefer physical games. I like being able to loan, trade or give games away when I'm no longer playing them.

When I bought Xbox one, it was the one that had Tom Clancy's The Division included. I thought it would be a disc in the box or at least be pre-installed on the HDD.

NOPE, that shit took all damn day to download. (60+GB on an 18meg internet connection) so I was hype to play, and it was like... yeah, you can play tomorrow...

Even worse, Final Fantasy 11 ( then later ff14) - installing, re-installing adding expansions and- re updating those two games from Square-Enix's flaky ass network? Oh hell na Karen; fuuuuuckkk that you talking about DAYS
rather update from disc-

Stores abandoned PC games years ago so this doesnt surprise me. Even the physical copies you do see are nothing but boxes with a code inside. Everything is via Steam, Origin, etc.
Retail is shifting rapidly. On the news they sat we are in a retail apocalypse.

Fuck Gamestop. They open the new games and sell you the shit as new and you can't return it. You can return the used shit but it's only a few dollars cheaper for some good shit. Ebay is way cheaper for used games. I sell used games on ebay too for more than Gamestop gives me. I buy new games from Target.

I personally prefer physical copies over digital. Only because of hard drive space. I think Sony and Microsoft need to figure something for the next generation of consoles. Because if they offer the same bullshit 500gb or 1tb. Entry level system I'm going to say fuck both of them. As I have done with Nintendo.

I think Nintendo has the man power and money. To develop an system with more than 32gb of memory.

the games STILL get uploaded to your HDD....physical or not

I'd rather say good riddance to that fugly picket fence gap toothed chick in your sig....Tom Brady could put a spiral trough it..... wtf is wrong with you ???

It just came to mind soon as I saw her.....she looks like a female hockey player with that missing tooth !!!

yeah. I just get worried that the data from the digital download will get corrupted. And if so do you have to repurchased the game if that happens?
No you dont. You just download it again. That digital copy you bought is attached to your account, so even if you buy another of the same console, you can download it to that new console too.

And who cares about reselling a game. It became insulting to walk into a Gamestop and they offer you $6 or so for a game, then re-sell it for $30. Fuck them and fuck physical copies that just become clutter and take up space.

I feel the same way with the TV show collection I have. I got Hulu, Netflix,Hbo Now and showtime. I don't see the need for them. There's specific seasons of certain shows I like. So I'm keeping those. Other than that. It's taking up space.

As time go on, most stores except grocery will be gone.
Them too. They ain't gettin' saved.

In Atlanta, 15 years ago there about a half a dozen Farmer's markets in the metro...now, there are 9 TIMES as many.

The #shoplocal game is going to bring grocery chains to their knees.

Sh!t is basically going back to how my parents grew up: farm to table with the ability to match larger chains logistics due to technology.

No one is safe.
Im with you 2 kats, I wanna hold whatever it is, in my hand and get a feel for it. I like tryin on shoes, because every size 12 isnt the same!! But, I think were in the minority when it comes to shopping, the majority of these young folks wanna shop online and they have a million reasons why to shop online..
Yeah, we are.

I shop big and tall and has been HELL all my life, but the way these mail order companies have streamlined returns is putting pressure on brick and mortar clothiers.
Like music, the better the quality, the more I want a physical copy. Just to see it in my collection instead of digitally stored. Plus there's no resell in digital.
It is a psychological paradigm shift.

Live audio was just recorsed by your memories.

Next physical media went phonograph, 45, 8 track, tape cassette, then cd.

Now, it is back to being not physical via 0's and 1's.

And as we did before, we will adapt.
No doubt, I hear you and agree. I was being halfway sarcastic. I was being serous about digital media dominating music and gaming now.

Kinda like how, in the Pizza Hut thread, no one claimed to eat pizza from any of the major chains....but they're still around and much bigger than the other places. A lot of people are just caught up on nostalgia.
It reveals how many white customers these chains have, too.

BTW, Pizza Hut should be renamed Sodium Hut.
The most popular game right now is 100% free to download and play on every platform.... Fortnite.

I can see the death of physical media for games coming.
:eek::eek:I can't get my sons off the XBOX for shit!
