I must admit I was a little disappointed that the brutha turned out to be a fraud.So far I've only seen two bruthas.One is that thirsty ass pussy hungry dude with the ships and the second is a hoodrich scam artist. I don't think dude is dead(he was never killed so they left it wide open for us to see him later) so he might turn out to be shit later,but right now im a lil salty.
Danys story was dumb.Why would that sorcerer put himself that close to some dragons? Sure they were babies,but it just didn't make sense for him to take NO precautions.


Question: I was surprised Jon Snow killed that dude.I thought they were scheming to escape.

Dude wanted Jon Snow to kill him, he knew he was dead anyway and Jon too. By killing him Jon earned some trust from them so that he may potentially be able to infiltrate them.

no one plays the game perfectly...even grandmaster chess players make errors...

and the writers did set it up.. so the viewers saw in an episode earlier in the season ...that Danaerys had taught the baby dragons to breathe fire...

two things the sorcerer didn't count on.. is that dragons so young could breathe fire .. because no one outside of her hand maidens were in the room .. when she taught them that command...

i don't even think Mormount knew the dragons could do that...

secondly...for the purposes of the show...Dany is 18.. but in the books she's 13-14 years old.. if you're a grown man..fightin' a 13-14 year old girl and you're wizard on top of that.. how seriously are u gonna take that fight??

another thing... since he didn't speak dothraki.. he didn't know what the hell she was sayin' ... or who she was talkin' to..when she gave the command for her dragons to breathe fire..

that's why he was lookin' all confused when dany gave the command...

my take on that... was Qhorin knew he and Jon Snow were more than likely both gonna be executed once they made it back to the Wildlings' camp...

and from the way he was talkin' throughout the season .. he seemed kinda jaded about protectin' the wall.. and ready to move on...

so he sacrificed himself ...in the hopes... may be with the Wildlings seein' Jon Snow kill him.. that act would put Jon in their good graces ... and they wouldn't kill Jon also...

and Jon ..could somehow get word back to the other Night's watchmen...

The Rodney Dangerfield of the show. Seriously. Varys said the real. "You won't get any love for it, and it won't go down in history, but EVERYBODY knows what you did."

He looked better in this episode to me IMO.

That scene with him and Maester Luwin was telling and powerful. It gives his perspective and gives validity (to an extent) to his feelings and actions.

He was enslaved to an extent by those who murdered his brothers and though treated well was expected to feel grateful while being enslaved.

Imagine it like when we were once slaves. Some slave owners probably treated their slaves well in comparison to other slaves, or maybe well period, but at the end of the day they were still slaves. I imagine thats how Theon felt.

And to top it off he returns home to his family only to be rejected and humiliated by not only his family but the same subjects who if he were raised on the Iron Islands would have been kissing his ass.

He stepped up at the end and tried to man up and go out fighting like a warrior and was denied that even. He can't win for trying.

I can sympathize with his character. In some ways he's like a dumb version of Tyrion.

Great fuckin post and sums up my feelings about the depth of Theon's character PERFECTLY!

not only that but after watching a show with such great writing and directing like this (and Mad Men) it spoils other shit for you.

For example I like True Blood a lot and thought of it as a great show but after watching shows that set the bar so high I felt like I was watching some sub par amateurish shit. I was getting tired while watching it in the first 15 minutes.

That is one theory, that Jaqen is actually Arya sword master.

No they wouldn't let him go but that says nothing about Arya's sword master disregarding what they intended and instead doing what he wanted (escape). Lets not forget he can change his appearance on a whim so it would not be that difficult for him to escape Kings Landing after evading the last Kings Guardsman that confronted him.

I just got thru Season 2. Starting on season 3 now. Great show. I wanted to wait until the series was over but I just couldn't. I'm still mad that Ned got killed but you can't be the only good surrounded by evil and expect to survive.

After searching I'm disappointed that there isn't individual Season 3,4 & 5 threads that aren't filled with spoilers. I've had to ignore so many assholes who, "read the book" and think its their duty to try and ruin the experience for everybody else with there, "the big thing that supposed to happen should be coming up" or, "he's gonna a play a major part later on in the series."
