Game Of Thrones season 2: The night is dark and full of terror................

Now that we got the terminology out of the way tonight's episode was a great way to set up next season.

they are going to split up the 3rd book A storm of Swords into seasons 3 and 4. You guys are going to love next season.

awesome episode...can't wait to see what happens to theon in season 3...wonder how/if sam gets away....

season 3 is gonna be ill as fuck....

Yeah I can't wait until next season, but its damn near a year away:(

Daenerys Targaryen's story was disappointing this season IMO. Though I get they had to get her where she is now by her going through what she went through it just wasn't entertaining for the most part. And on top of that we didn't get to see her nude, not even once, not even a shower scene or something:(:smh:

now thats how you do a season finale.

loved how cold-hearted Dany was putting Ducksause and that bitch in his empty vault. Poetic Justice.

and that last 5 minutes makes me wonder how epic the Walking Dead would've been if it ended up on HBO. Rumor has they were close and would've casted Thomas Jane as Rick. You gotta love HBO cause they go all out with budgets. The CGI can be suspect at times but commendable for cable. But they came through with that final scene.

Ok gotcha, and no that White Walker you saw on the dead horse was not the Mad King. The Mad Kings corpse would of had to have been dumped behind the Wall in order for him to rise from the dead as a wight. And as far as I can remember from the books his corpse was never dropped off behind the wall.

Got you I didn't know that the death or body had to be behind the wall for them to rise.

Yeah the White Walkers are the reason the dead can rise. They can't go beyond the wall so anything behind it is fair game for them.

Supposedly, the Wall was erected with magic, and the magic keeps The Others north of the Wall. But in terms of King Aerys's body needing to be north of the wall to be reanimated, it would need to be wherever winter was, whether that was north of the wall or south. The Others only live in the coldest parts of the north, and as winter descends south, they are coming south with it. Think in terms of distance and modes of travel in medieval times. Aerys died in let's say southern Africa, and the Wall is near Egypt. How likely is it that anyone is going to carry his remains that far (especially considering that anyone that loyal to him would be put to death by the new powers that be)?

 at Theon.

He looked better in this episode to me IMO.

That scene with him and Maester Luwin was telling and powerful. It gives his perspective and gives validity (to an extent) to his feelings and actions.

He was enslaved to an extent by those who murdered his brothers and though treated well was expected to feel grateful while being enslaved.

Imagine it like when we were once slaves. Some slave owners probably treated their slaves well in comparison to other slaves, or maybe well period, but at the end of the day they were still slaves. I imagine thats how Theon felt.

And to top it off he returns home to his family only to be rejected and humiliated by not only his family but the same subjects who if he were raised on the Iron Islands would have been kissing his ass.

He stepped up at the end and tried to man up and go out fighting like a warrior and was denied that even. He can't win for trying.

I can sympathize with his character. In some ways he's like a dumb version of Tyrion.

I posted this on page 7, it is a little history about the Starks, The Wall, and the White Walkers

The Starks

Past History:

125izh3.jpg

Approximately eight thousand years before Aegon The Conqueror, in the midst of a great winter that lasted for years, a terrible darkness fell across Westeros and the east. The Long Night lasted a generation and laid waste to much of the world through famine and terror. In the midst of this darkness a race of apparent demons emerged from the uttermost north, wielding razor-thin swords of ice and raising the dead to fight the living. The children of the forest and their allies, the First Men, fought valiantly against them, but were driven southwards by their advance.

The 'Others', as these demons were called, were eventually checked when it was discovered that weapons made of dragonglass could kill them. A great hero, who in the eastern tradition is known as Azor Ahai, led the war against the Others wielding his sword of fire, Lightbringer. Eventually the Others were driven back into the Lands of Always Winter. Brandon Stark, known as Bran the Builder, raised a great Wall of ice, gravel and magic, stretching one hundred leagues from the Gorge to the Shivering Sea to prevent the Others coming again. Brandon Stark was declared the First King in the North.

The fortress of Winterfell as well as Storm's End were built by Bran the Builder at this time, and the Night's Watch was founded to maintain a watch on the Wall. A later prophecy claimed that the Others would return and Azor Ahai, the Prince that was Promised, would be reborn to lead the fight against them.

question is who is Azor Ahai, the Prince that was Promised. I know who I am rooting for and there is already someone that has claimed to be the one.

That is the question indeed :)

There are some theories on who he/she may be but nothing concrete as of yet. A few of us have an idea who it might be but we will all have to wait and see.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Guys are giving out alot of bullshit confusing info in here. :smh:

Once again I said "zombies" to include them all simply to differentiate them from the Wildlings.Calling them "wights" to somebody not familiar with what a wight is aint gonna do them any good.

Nigga are you drunk:confused:

They showed her completely nude in season one, I'm saying we saw nothing in season 2.

Ironic, considering she walks around at least 80 % of the time in Book 2 with one titty out (Traditional Qartheen gown). The writers considered adding this costume, but felt it would be too distracting. :smh::angry:

This year's season finale shit all over last years

They did a really good job,I was hoping they would end the season finale like they did in the book but its good though...

Season finale = A+
Overall Season = B-

Ok need some help. What is that army of the dead? That's a different group from the one Jon Snow just joined?

Army of the dead (white walkers/the others & the wights - I don't know if the Walkers are in control of the wights or not). The group Jon Snow is joining is the (damn it. forgot the name. It's late. I'm tired I guess)

season 3 is gonna be ill as fuck....

Exactly. By the time that shit rolls around (when does it drop again?) I will be probably up to book 3.

Thank you all for explaining the White Walkers aka The Others and the Wights (the reanimated corpses that run with the White Walkers - I think I got it)

The White walkers are from the very first episode of the series first scene.

I've been saying about Daenery's all season, her story was shitty as fuck

:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

I felt that way but I always figured the ending of her story this year would be powerful.

To some extent it was seeing the dragons grow and that they are gaining power and strength but overall it was a flat storyline.

But I'm thinking her and Jon Snow's (another character storyline I was somewhat disappointed with this season) characters will be more powerful and impactful next season and this season was more to set those characters up next season more than anything else.

Robb is a fucking idiot.....:hmm:

I know:smh:

I figured he would renege on his promise of marriage but I figured he'd do it when they were on better footing as far as the war, his families safety, and regaining some of what they've lost. I didn't see him doing it now in the middle of the war when Winterfell was just attacked, and his sisters are captive (at least they believe both are held captive). Seems like the worse time to make another (powerful) enemy:smh:

i thought it was cool how they showed the two parallels between breaking marriage promises. in joffery's case, they made a big pretense about it and everyone went along with it even though they knew it was a show. in robb's case, nobody knew and it was a secret done in the dead of night.
